I personally hack for competitive battles, so all options are fine with me. But I think the 100% Shiny Code is the legalest, since it doesn't give you any advantage in battle.

Oh and I don't hack flawless Ivs and EVs. I train them myself. Oh and I don't trade the hacked Pokemon wqithout saying they are hacked.

If I had to hazard a guess, I'd say roughly 97.5% of polls are horrible. This is part of that overwhelming majority.

What if none of them are "legal"? What if I don't care about any of them? Perhaps I'm OK with two of them, but not the third? If you can't include every possible option and combination of options, do NOT make a poll. If you cannot stick with one question, do NOT make a poll. I think you've given three different questions for what this poll is on.

Pesonally, I only use the AR for Items and TM's.

I have a lot less issue with using the AR for Manaphy, Darkrai, Shaymin, and Arceus. Not everyone can get to the special events, why punish someone that lives in boondocks?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but anyone can get access to Manaphy without an AR because it's available through Pokemon Ranger and the others. . . well, if there is an event for them, if you have an internet connection you can trade for it. So there is no justification in saying "I live in Woop Woop, no events ever happen my way, I'll just hack for it."

Like everyone else said, no AR codes are legit, even if they replicate something you can do without an AR, you're still using illegitimate means to do so when you have a perfectly legal option.

Imo an event modifier code is awfully convenient, but also unfair and generally frowned upon. You could do the code infinitely and you could see how that would be unfair for pokemon like Arceus.

I'm not quite understanding why you used the Pokemon's point of view as your reason against hacking.

If you had an AR, the Encounter Code would make EV training very convenient. Just kill level 2 Groudons until you hit 252... That's just unfair.

My point was that a pokemon like Arceus can fit nearly any role in the metagame, and several natures and ev spreads that are viable. Thus, since any normal trainer can only get one per version once the event happens, it is unfair to others when you have an Arceus of every nature to trade or battle with. And they're all your own.

I use the IV-checking code and the codes to get event only pokémon like Arceus and friends. I still didn't use rebattle codes because i'm not interested in recaught them at the moment, but if I feel the need to use it in the future, I'll use.

I actually work hard to get my shinies, even though I have an AR. So that shiny code is fucking gay, IMO. If it's for your own file then do what you want, but not for distribution of any kind, even on GameFAQs, lol.

I personally feel that hacking items and hack cloning pokes are as far as anyone should go. I feel that altering Pokes themselves even if it is making them shiny or fast-hatching takes away from the art of breeding.

Items and cloning are simply ways to save time, I mean I could sit in the freakin battle tower all day to buy a TM, but why not just get them all maxed out in 5 minutes? And I could spend all day cloning at the gts, or I could do the same work in a fraction of the time.

I have an AR and I personally have a goal never to alter pokes or to use AR to encounter pokes that can't be encountered.

I don't know what totalitarian states the rest of you live in, but for me, all of this stuff is legal. I mean, seriously, it's just a game...

There's a difference between "legal" or "legit" and "acceptable".

Legal and legit refer to whether something is possible in the game without outside interference, acceptable is what the people involved agree is allowed.

I could make a 31IVed shiny Arceus with the most ridiculous moveset ever, and my friends may consider it acceptable, but it's not legit.

well, yeah, of course its legal. of course, as aziraphale said, its a matter of whether its acceptable. too most people, it is not, especially the guys in the look what i bred thread. in fact, i have AR, but the only things i used it for was the tms, cuz battle towering was too time consuming.

Same here. Shinies are special and (very) hard to get, and the 100% shiny code is kinda gay, even without using the shinies in battle.

Personally, I think using the AR or Pokesav to alter a Pokemon is the line that shouldn't be crossed. Items and TM's are fine. Especially considering that some VERY good TM's are only available once in a code.

And anyone who has tried to get a Black Sludge in a Legit manner understands where those of us using the AR for items is coming from. I spent a couple of days trying to do that before I broke down and bought the AR. Stupid Black Sludge.

I managed to get a Black Sludge legitly, do I win? lol kidding. About the winning. I actually do have a Black Sludge.

On-topic, I'm pretty sure a fair few people here use the event modifier. Where else would Shaymins and non-movie Darkrais come from?

No you don't need to hatch them. At the start of breeding it doesn't really give an advantage because you're just looking for IVs on parents. But, once you have 2 really good parents IV check is a huge boost, especially when hatching something that requires a specific ability + nature.

1. Fast Hatch/egg generate, saving before each egg until you find an egg with the right nature/ability/gender/whatever.
2. SR on that egg like crazy, IV checking as soon as you get the egg.
3. If IV check says the IVs suck, just SR
4. Repeat until you get great IVs on that egg, hatch for your awesome poke.

The advantage over running back and forth on your bike is really obvious ain't it? The advantage over quick hatch is you don't have to sit there waiting for the animation sequence on every single egg. -.-
If you SR, don't you have to watch the game start up?

You know there is a reason why the word "legallest" isn't in the dictionary. And that's because it doesn't exist. Something is either legal, or illegal, there is no measure of in between.

If you kill one guy by lethal injection, and kill the other guy by ripping his guts out and bashing his teeth out with the hammer, both are dead. Neither one is "deader".

shiny code, because it goves you absolutely no unfair advantage in battling, pther than your opponent going

OMG!! LOOK AT THE PRETTY GOLDEN STEELIXXXX!! PRETTY!!

lol:cloud:

I think that during the time of the GBA games the event modifier would be fair if you didn't live in a country where the events were.

Although if you use the event Pokemon for competitive battling in D/P it would be unfair so I think the shiny one is the best.
