My team was pretty amazing:

Infernape
Staraptor
Golduck
Roserade
Bronzong (with a + Speed nature...)

aaand...

Kricketune. Who died a lot, but at least got to use Perish Song against Garchomp after Giga Impact.

Don't know the movesets, but this was something as to what it looked like:

Empoleon, Misdreavous, Machoke, Abomasnow (big help in final E4 battle), Luxray, and a filler, usually a Flyer or HM Slaves Bibarel and Steelix.

I started over just a week ago. I don't like ingame fighting, because I know I'm getting random EVs. But this is my team, currently: (I did SR for IVs, couldn't help it. x3)

Prinplup lv. 34
- Peck
- Metal Claw (Didn't actually use it yet... ah well)
- Bubblebeam
- Fury Attack (Such a bad move)
And he has, like, 28 Att and 24 Sp. Att. I'm going to make him special anyway.

Gyarados lv. 30 (You know how horrible training a Magikarp 15 levels up is without exp. share? Try it. Srsly.)
- Tackle (Um, yeah. >.>)
- Leer
- Bite
- Twister
He has bad moves, right now. But he kills people with Tackle anyway. 29 Att. EV, and 31 Defense. ^_^

Roselia lv. 35
- Cut (HM move, I know, but it was better than Absorb.)
- Grasswhistle (Misses all the time)
- Giga Drain
- Ingrain (Why did I get this while having Giga Drain? o_O)
Roselia isn't that bad, I guess. But I'm not sure how usefull she'll be against the E4. I got myself 10 Budews to make sure she had good IVs, but I ended up with only average ones.

Heracross lv. 30
- Horn Attack
- Brick Break
- Counter (Not a good move, really)
- Aerial Ace
First one I found in a honey tree, female (I wanted a female one), 31 Att. IV, and all the other IVs over 24. Destroys all kinds of stuff. <3

I think I'm getting a Weavile... Then I'll beat the game and go breed. =D

In-game team:

Infernape (CC/Mach Punch/Flare Blitz/Flame Wheel) - Naughty (wasn't sure what moveset to run at first for in-game)
Staraptor (Brave Bird/QA/CC/Take Down) - Serious (couldn't be arsed to catch more)
Gyarados (DD/Waterfall/Ice Fang/Trash) - Naughty (got tired of fishing)

All were around Lv 57-58 at the time I took on the E4. Just swept 3 of the 4 E4 members + Cynthia using DDDos.
Also had a Bibarel and Graveler as HM slaves + Noctowl for Defog and Fly, since I wanted Brave Bird on Staraptor (now using Bibarel + Tropius when I need them).

Finding wild pokes around Hoen that are actually good is a major bitch. I used:

Torterra
Gyarados
Drifblim
Bronzong
Staraptor
Alakazam

Wait, how the heck did you get Typhlosion, Vaporeon and Linoone without the National Dex. O.o

Personally, I feel like beating the E4 with hacks wouldn't be very fun . . . I mean in game is easy enough as it is. Then again, raising your favorites freely might be fun if you played the whole game through with cyndaquil. ^____^ <3 cyndaquil

I had both versions of the game available to me so I had a friend transfer all three starters, but my starter for the game itself, was Turtwig. I just love overpowered grass moves like Wood Hammer.

My in-game team was comprised of:
Torterra
Empoleon
Infernape
Lucario
Honchrow
Luxray
I don't remember their movesets but they were quite good for being not EV trained.

Lets see...

Torterra
Staraptor
Gyarados
Infernape
Lucario
Dialga/Palkia/Hm Whore

I got the Palkia off the GTS at level 76, and needless to say the E4 was pwned =D

Well, I used:
Infernape Lv.58 (Flare Blitz, CC, Flame Wheel, Mach Punch),
Staraptor Lv.55 (Return, Defog, CC, Fly),
Luxray Lv.52 (Thunder Fang, Spark, Charge, Crunch),
Dialga Lv.52 (Metal Claw, Dragon Claw, AncientPower, Roar of Time),
Bibarel Lv. 15 (Cut, Surf, Strength, Rock Smash),
Bibarel Lv. 21 ( Headbutt, Hyper Fang, Rock Climb, Water Fall)

My in-game team was:

Empoleon ~ Modest
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Flash Cannon
- Grass Knot

Bronzong ~ Brave
- Gyro Ball
- Earthquake
- Psychic
- Trick Room

Chimecho ~ Modest
- Extrasensory (knows Psychic now)
- Uproar (knows Shadow Ball now)
- Flash (knows Energy Ball now)
- Last Resort (knows Calm Mind now)

Kadabra (now Alakazam) ~ Modest
- Psychic
- Shadow Ball
- Recover (knows Focus Blast now)
- Miracle Eye (knows Calm Mind now)

Kricketune - Adamant
- X-Scissor
- Brick Break
- Aerial Ace
- Swords Dance

Starly (Lv5)
- Fly
- Defog
- Quick Attack
- Growl

This was my team as I battled the Elite 4. I removed all HMs my Pokemon had as soon as I got to the Pokemon League. The Starly was used to stall for 1 turn while I revived one of my Pokemon lol. :P

After beating the Elite 4, I imported a few EV lowering berries and planted them until I had enough to reduce all the EVs my team had. I then EV trained them and checked their IVs to find that some were pretty good, and the rest were average or pretty crap. The best thing was that Bronzong had a 0 speed IV. ;)

Old
Empoleon
Bibarel
Staraptor
Luxray
Palkia
Lucario

New
Infernape
Floatzel
Abomasnow
Bibarel

I always felt like taking a legendary into the E4 made it less epic somehow.

Imagine fighting Cynthia-- she smirks as her signature Garchomp kills one of your pokes. Then the "upcoming challenger" sends out Palkia, Creator of Space, Legendary Uber dragon to beat Garchomp's face in and laugh as it stomps over the rest of the opposing team. -_-;

Or imagine fighting Lance in Kanto-- He laughs and brags about Dragons being the strongest of all pokes and how he's uber for having 3 super rare and powerful dragonites . . . only to have the "new challenger" send out Articuno to laugh in his face. -_-;

Yeah, definitely less epic. lol

I used to have Diamond, but I lost it. I don't remember the team I had there save for Torterra, Luxray, Gastrodon, and Drifblim.

Pearl, however, is still safe with me.

Infernape (Jolly ^_^ )
Mismagius
Floatzel
Abomasnow
Roserade

And...Purugly. Oh yeah.

Empoleon
Roserade
Luxray
Staraptor
Lucario
Machop (hm whore!)

And yeah, I don't generally like using Legendaries to beat the Elite 4. In Sapphire when I first got it, Kyogre solo'd the Elite 4 with some Full Restore. So when I played through Emerald, I ignored all Legendaries (only Rayquaza anyway?) and went through with my shoddy team of Swampert/Gardevoir/Hariyama/Camerupt/and 2 others.

What I want to know is what would be a good team to speedrun through the game with? I know in FR/LG, it was blastoise/zapdos, and in RS it was probably swampert with air support/game legend in master ball. I would imagine a nape/dos combo rushes the game pretty well, but I won't be able to try it till the 3rd game comes out without fear of losing my EV trained pokes =\.

Diamond, in-game:

Laos - Infernape
Galileo - Luxray
Prestiege - Alakazam
Panda - Drifblim
Obsidian - Onix
Bucket - Dewgong

My friend traded me Bucket for the game because like hell I was getting one of the Sinnoh Water-types and no moveset because it's late for me and I'm tired.

I ran through the game with Honchkrow, Torterra, Luxray, and Machamp and after I got the National Dex I added Vaporeon and Tropius to my team.

Infernape @ Fist Plate
- Close Combat
- Fire Blast
- Grass Knot
- Flame Wheel

Yeah, I forgot to wait to learn Nasty Plot.

Staraptor @ forgot
- Brave Bird
- Close Combat
- Return
- Fly

meh.

Floatzel @ Splash Plate
- Waterfall
- Crunch
- Ice Fang
- Aqua Jet

meh.

Roserade @ Choice Specs(!)
- Petal Dance (getting Energy Ball soon)
- Sludge Bomb
- Shadow Ball
- Aromatherapy

Bronzong @ Iron Plate
- Hypnosis
- Earthquake
- Gyro Ball
- Block

I tried to give them good movesets, since I can't get on Wi-fi and I take pleasure in beating up my friends/cousins

Umm, trading?

I never tried it, but you can trade for pokes not in Sinnoh? Sorry if that was my mistake. My impression was you couldn't trade for pokes outside those outside the sinnoh dex until you got the national dex.

You can, it just won't show up in the Pokedex. I thought so to (Emerald and FR/LG lock out non-Hoenn and non-Kanto until the National Dex), but someone on GF corrected me, and I verified it by loaning my Latios and Latias out to a couple of folks who needed help in taking down the E4 during their first run.

My team was...unspectacular. I went with Piplup based on aesthetics...bad choice. Infernape is tons more useful, and even Torterra has a certain style that I like (and I don't like grass starters much at all).

Anyway...the team was:

Level 57 Electabuzz - Thunderbolt, Thunder, Ice Punch, Light Screen
Level 58 Staraptor - Brave Bird, Fly, Close Combat, Double Team
Level 59 Empoleon - Surf, Hydro Pump, Metal Claw, Mist
Level 59 Charizard - Fire Fang, Flamethrower, Wing Attack, Slash
Level 45 Sandslash - Earthquake, Dig, X-Scissor, Night Slash
Level 45 Drifblim - Shadow Ball, Ominous Wind, Gust, Defog

Half my team was obtained as level 1 Pokes from trades. They weren't good, but I managed to saw through E4 really really well...up until I got to Bronzong. So the Charizard was EV trained as a Bronzong counter-measure. In its place before was nothing, because I'd always have my faithful Bibarl as an HM slave.

The team that defeated the E4 was:

- Infernape
- Staraptor
- Floatzel
- Roserade
- Weavile
- Garchomp

Garchomp replaced my Luxray after getting Strength, because not having Ground attacks was making the team weaker.

Highest level when I defeated Cynthia was 49.
