Hobbies What was it like to have your first video game?

My first game I ever played was on my older cousin's SNES. Super Mario World! It definitely is the reason I am hooked today.

The first game I every owned myself though, was I think DBZ Budokai? The PS2 was the first system that was actually my own. Loved it and my GameCube so much as a kid. I am not much of a fighting game player now, but I used to be HUGE on the Budokai series when I was younger.

I recall unboxing Pokemon Blue in 1999 and spending hours just marvelling over it, I must've played till the first gym, reset the game and repeat with all 3 starters before finally settling with Charmander oddly enough

The first video game I had myself was Lego Star Wars on the PS2. I got 100% completion in that game, somehow, despite losing my save file twice in the process.

However, and this is probably somewhat telling, but the first video game I ever played was Half-Life 2. Much to my mother's chagrin, my dad made sure I got to experience one of the best games ever made... after he beat it of course.

My first ever video game I got to play with was an old Xbox 360 one of my cousins used to play.
My dad bought me and my siblings some games(I can't remember which ones, but I do remember playing Minecraft!), but then quickly took it away from us because we kept fighting over who gets to play LOL.

For me, it was a life-changing experience, if I hadn't played any video games or encountered one, I probably wouldn't have encountered Smogon or PS!

Nice thread BTW!

I remember saving up pocket money just to buy skins csgo after playing it for the first time—it felt kinda like getting bonus toys with your favorite game. Weird how digital stuff started to feel as cool as actual game cartridges back in the day. First games hit different because they stick with you, and anything that added to the experience felt extra special.

First game system I remember having was a VSmile that my sister and I used to play with when we were really young. It only had educational games primarily with licensed properties (Winnie The Pooh and Cinderella are the two I distinctly remember, I think Cars might have been another one but I'm not so sure on that one) and another game called Alphabet Park which I remember being really fun. The games were for sure simple as hell but I had lots of fun when I was young playing them and I ook back on them fondly.

If we're talking first actual game system (ie. not for educational games only) then it would have to be a GameBoy Color that one of my cousins gave to me when I was like four or five years old that also came with a copy of Pokemon Yellow. I had tons of fun playing it even though I was stupid as hell and couldn't get past Brock without trading with my neighbour for a level 100 Snorlax. I still have it to this day and despite Gen 1 being far from my favourite generation it's the one I enjoy replaying the most since it's so simple and quick to play through. Regarding the GameBoy Color, I understand your enthusiasm, because I also had many hours of fun with Pokémon Yellow, although at first I couldn't complete some stages. However, the simplicity of the first generation of Pokémon really allows you to quickly complete the game and return to it again, it's like childhood memories. Now, by the way, I'm passionate about new games, and I even accidentally came across https://casinosanalyzer.com/free-spins-no-deposit/free-chips, where you can feel the excitement even when you don't have much time to play. From time to time, this also adds variety to the experience, and although the games have changed a lot, some of them still bring the same joy as when you were a child. And what is your favorite game that you would like to relive again?

In my case, the first gaming system was some old console, but I always had fun with it.
