Project What's Their Last? v2 [Week 24: Voting phase]

Nidoqueen @ Life Orb
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 128 HP / 252 SpA / 128 Spe
Modest Nature
- Stealth Rocks
- Sludge Wave
- Earth Power
- Ice Beam

This team lacked a rocker, a ground, and a terrakion check. Nidoqueen does all of these things, and can threaten the likes of Primarina for the team. I went for an offensive set allowing Nidoqueen to actually pressure Primarina.

Seismitoad @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 72 HP / 252 SpA / 184 Spe
Modest Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Hydro Pump
- Earth Power
- Hidden Power Fire
No electric immunity, no rocks, no backup Scizor check, and no pivot for Prim's Hydro Pump. Seismitoad does all of these things in one slot. I went with an offensive Seis because it carries HP fire for enemy Sciz in case Rotom-H bites off more than it can chew, and the team's offensive leaning nature probably prefers the momentum the offensive set can retain. It also makes it great at harassing bulky grounds in the vein of Gligar and Palossand to further cement Terrakion's place in the battle. It lets the team force Prim into 50/50s vs it and Scizor if the Prim is specs, and acts as a great electric immunity for stuff like Mane and enemy Rotom-H.

Congratulations Sickist for winning this week with your Nidoqueen submission. The original Pokemon was in fact Nidoqueen, so well done for getting that correct by noticing the team lacked a ground type and Stealth Rock user. Nidoqueen also being appreciated for the ability to pressure fairies like Prima and just be a good balance breaker. I loved all the submissions this weekas usual. Thank you TSR for providing the team last week and everyone who participated! Early posting this today, will be back on schedule for next week.

Cobalion @ Rocky Helmet

EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature

- Iron Head

Tentacruel @ Black Sludge
Ability: Liquid Ooze
EVs: 204 HP / 160 Def / 144 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Rapid Spin
- Haze
- Scald
- Sludge Bomb

"Flame Body Moltres + DD Mega Altaria was the base concept behind this team's conception and both are good offensive complements to the other. Scarf Krookodile's usually the best ground to pair with Moltres as it can apply some pressure versus Mega Aerodactyl and Rotom-H, both of which are thorns in Moltres's side, provided that rocks are up. Rocky Helmet Cobalion helps to set up the aforementioned rocks while also giving the current core another way to punish U-turn cycles alongside Moltres's Flame Body. Tentacruel removes the opponent's entry hazards and helps to check some important defensive checkboxes, most notably checking Primarina. Good luck figuring out the last!"

Scizor @ Choice Band
Ability: Technician
EVs: 164 HP / 252 Atk / 92 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Bullet Punch
- U-turn
- Superpower
- Pursuit

The team is super reliant on Krook to take on SD Terrakion at the moment, and it's best Latias pivot is Mega Altaria. Enemy Mega Altaria also gets really ugly really fast. What UU god of blanket checks could possibly take on these mons and many more in one slot you ask? Well of course, it's Scizor. Scizor improves these matchups as well as further strengthening the Aero matchup for the Altaria/Moltres combo to do it's thing. It also adds another way to pester steels via band superpower and a pivot with it's U-turn, some traits which this team could definitely get behind.

Doublade @ Eviolite
Ability: No Guard
EVs: 240 HP / 252 Atk / 16 SpD
IVs: 0 Spe
Brave Nature
- Swords Dance
- Gyro Ball
- Shadow Claw
- Shadow Sneak

who needs ugly ass scizor when u got doublade, aka the true god of UU. You get a Lati answer, Terrak answer and a Malt answer all in one!

okay so this is a pretty obvious doublade in this last, but submissions are needed SO...
I looked for something that could do everything doublade could do (except eat CC's) and I came up with...

Metagross @ Choice Band
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 40 HP / 252 Atk / 216 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Meteor Mash
- Earthquake
- Trick / Pursuit / Explosion
- Bullet Punch

THE KING IS BACK BABY! While still kinda bad, Metagross gives the last slot a mildy reliable Terrakion, Latias, and MAltaria answer, while just smashing everything with CB attacks. The third moveslot is for whatever you personally want. Trick could give the team a better MU vs defensive teams, whereas Pursuit can trap Latias. Finally, Explosion allows you to remove something indefinently from the game, possibly opening up a spot for MAltaria or Coba or w/e.,

Congratulations Datsplashtho for winning this week with your Doublade submission. The original Pokemon was actually Reuniclus, which was to help with the Fighting-types, CM wars and improve the Stall matchup more. Doublade helped achieve some of these things by giving a sturdier answer to things like Terrakion, while providing a Steel-type with a more secure answer to Latias and Celebi. Thank you Accelgor for providing the team last week and everyone who participated!

Here is the team being featured for Week 17:

Timid Nature
- Nasty Plot
- Fire Blast
- Focus Blast
- Vacuum Wave

Nidoking @ Life Orb
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Stealth Rock
- Earth Power
- Ice Beam
- Sludge Wave

Hydreigon @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Dark Pulse
- Fire Blast
- U-turn

Starmie @ Life Orb
Ability: Analytic
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hydro Pump
- Ice Beam
- Psyshock
- Rapid Spin

Klefki @ Leftovers
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 88 Def / 152 SpD / 16 Spe
Bold Nature
- Spikes
- Play Rough
- Thunder Wave
- Foul Play

"This one was built around NP Infernape. Nidoking was chosen, as I wanted an offensive Stealth Rock setter and I needed a ground-type as Infernape doesn't appreciate taking rock-type attacks and an electric immunity is basically essential in order to not get destroyed by Volt Switch users such as Mane, Rotom, Zerorara etc. Nidoking + Scarf Hydreigon allows me an easier time at offensively pressuring fairies. Klefki adds nice speed control with Choice Scarf Hydreigon + priority Vacuuum wave. It also helps against SD Scizor. Starmie is this team's hazard removal, can act as a wallbreaker and appreciates Infernape and Hydreigon's ability to threaten Pursuit users/dark-types. Good luck figuring out my last!"

Sharpedo-Mega @ Sharpedonite
Ability: Speed Boost
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Protect
- Ice Fang
- Crunch

Mega sharpedo is one of the best HO late game sweepers in UU. Its power, speed, and coverage are reasons why it is threatening on hyper offense teams. However, it needs its fair share of support. Sharpedo will always need support to take out fairies, and fat mons like steels and amoongusses. Sharpedo also apreciates spikes stack and rocks to pressure. All of these things mentioned are covered exceptionally well by the 5. Hydreigon Nido core is one of the best offensively. Hydreigon's Uturn luring in the fairies, then Nido coming in and setting up sub and breaking holes. Nasty plot Infernape is a great breaker as well, being able to hit hard and set up on steels. Sharpedo is a great addition to the offensive synergy created by the 5 that wont suck in momentum.
