What's your favourite lead?

Aerodactyl @ Focus Sash
Ability: Pressure
EV's: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spe
Jolly Nature
-Taunt
-Stealth Rock
-Crunch
-Earthquake

Crunch to handle Azelf, Earthquake for everything else. It's nothing special, but I can't think of any other leads I should use.

I very much enjoy using a lead Togekiss, although I usually use a sashed Roserade in UU and in one of my more successful OU stall teams.

I've been using a lead Togekiss as well, to an extremely good turnout. Gotta try and fix the fact my team doesn't have a strong sleep absorber though --;

Currently my Poliwrath which is in my sig [the anti lead link thingy], or choice scarf breloom, which i really like. Also i have been considering making a CB Flygon lead. I mean with EQ it threatens both Heatran and Metagross, and U-Turn can help it out of tight match ups, not mention breaking sashes, ill work on it though. But atm its poliwrath and scarf breloom.

On my offensive team I enjoy using Rotom-C, as a) it's a brilliant anti-lead that can cause major damage to the opponent and b) my team had no way of dealing with water pokémon.

Yay, someone who likes my Rotom-C anti-lead!

Anyway, for me, my favorite lead depends a lot on the team I am playing. If my team if a frail offensive team, I find myself using Aero, as it's taunt shuts down other leads from setting up rocks, and sets them up for me.

For bulky offensive teams, seeing as they can take hits, and don't mind the occasional 2HKO, I use an Anti-Lead, often a Specs Rotom-C, who can deal with all top 10 leads, unless Roserade gets Sleep in. (And then, there's not much it can do) Rotom-C ruins the idea of suicide leads, due to being immune to Explosion. The amount of people who run on automatic and taunt this lead is incredible too. They think 'do I outspeed this' and then, click Taunt, only to be reduced to 1HP/OHKO'ed.

For balanced teams, I find myself using a bulky SR lead, as I force several switches, and my sweepers tend to be frail, or like the rocks. Fir this role, something like Metagross, or Gliscor tends to fit the bill. If I use a Metagross, it's devoid of Explosion, as it is intended to come back late-game.

Heatran @ Choice Specs
EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Earth Power
- Flamethrower
- Hidden Power [Grass]
- Flash Cannon/Explosion

Guaranteed to beat Azelf (it will set SR up though), Swampert, Jirachi, Metagross, Scizor, Foretress, Bronzong, Roserade, and Smeargle, however it pales against anything faster with Eartquake (Read: Aerodactyl). Pairing it with a Scarf Rotom with the right EVs works nicely, as you switch, take no damage from EQ, and OHKO them the next tun, though the tactics behind this are clumsy and trips on its feet sometimes. Flash Cannon (though it does help if it survives for late-game revenge kills) is mostly filler so you are free to replace it with Explosion and a Naive nature.

Although when Jirachi and Smeargle use Trick just to find themselves helping Heatran by giving it a Scarf I find it hilarious. Not only did they waste a turn (and most/all of their HP), if they survive they just gave me the perfect tool for finishing them off. This happens alarmingly often.

So I often play different leads in my teams, my favorite leads are Aerodactyl, Azelf, Roserade Tyranitar and Metagross

Lately I've started liking Focus Sash Ambipom as a lead in OU. Fake Out on the first turn to break any sashes or find out if the opponent has a ghost on his team, then Taunt against any lead that isn't Azelf, Aerodactyl, Abomasnow, Tyranitar or Scarf Jirachi to prevent them from setting up Stealth Rock, and then U-turn to an appropriate pokemon to force the current one out. If the opponent suspects Taunt and attacks Ambipom on the turn he uses it, he'll still survive the blow due to Focus Sash unless the lead is an auto-weather one. What I like about Ambipom as a lead, however, is that it also makes a brilliant revenge killer, using Fake Out first, and if that doesn't finish them off but they're weakened already, Return delivers the coup de grace, and then depending on what comes in next, Ambipom might be able to U-turn out.

Ambipom @ Focus Sash
Technician
Jolly nature
6 HP/252 Attack/252 Speed
- Fake Out
- Taunt
- Return
- U-turn

It's not a perfect lead, but it's a pretty good one.

My favorite is:
Mesprit @ Light Ball/ Flame Orb (I change it now and then)
Levitate
Timid nature
252 Speed/200 Sp Attack/58 HP
-Fling
-Stealth Rock
-Psychic
-Ice Beam

This thing can really mess up leads if you Fling. Then proceed with SR. I put alot into Sp Attack so it can also hurt a few other Pokemon as well.

My old Anti-lead Starmie has a special place in my heart :)

But I think I actually prefer Scarf Jirachi as a lead, due to the insane amount of utility it has. Trick, U-turn, Scarfed SG Iron Head, Stealth Rock, elemental punches. It can cripple walls, revenge using flinch and high speed and give advantageous switches.

However, I guess I always love using less known or surprisingly effective leads, that make the opponent think "I didn't know Starmie (eg.) could do that !"

Same moveset that I've been using, only I have slightly less customized EVS:

Metagross @ Leftovers
Ability: Clear Body
Adamant, 252 HP / 252 Atk / 6 Speed

Leftovers to make something of his bulk, even if you only get a small amount of HP back, it always seems to help out later.

Maz Attack to make sure his attacks land a hell of a whoopin' on people and to give him a strong Bullet punch to soften up the suicide leads as much as possible.

Explosion is always great. I have Metagross and Azelf packing Explosion on the same team, so I can usually KO at least two of the enemy pokemon that would otherwise pose a threat to me.

Maxing Attack on Lead Gross isn't necessary, as 4 more points of Attack than 401 isn't going to be scoring extra KOs. I usually just use the Standard one, but switch the Speed with the Def to outspeed other Lead Gross. I also do not use Explosion unless I have another SR user. I use this set:

Metagross @ Occa Berry
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 252 HP/236 Atk/8 Def/12 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Bullet Punch
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Meteor Mash

This set guarantees only three common leads are going to beat me: Heatran (Shuca Berry and outspeeds), Hippowdon (Meteor Mash has to get an attack raise, Hippowdon 2HKO's with EQ), and Swampert (walls me, and Exploding is risk with most using Protect). Infernape is 2HKO'd (EQ + BP), Azelf is as well (<--- same thing). I like running this lead because Hippowdon and Swampert give me an oppurtunity to switch to Bulky Breloom:

Breloom (M) @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
EVs: 172 HP/204 Def/132 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Substitute
- Spore
- Leech Seed
- Focus Punch

This lets Breloom come in even on CB Stone Edge and Crunch on Tyranitar, outspeed and set up.

Sorry if it looks like a half RMT xD But you have to admit, the strategy is effective!

Scarfachi isn't the most reliable lead, but you have to love him. or hate him when he flinches your magneton to death which I have done multiple times.

I LOATHE ScarfRachi, I can never bring myself to use him, as I hate him so much myself.

Empoleon @ Shucca Berry
Torrent
52 Def/104 Atk/100 Spd/252 SpA
Rash
-Stealth Rock
-Surf
-Aqua Jet
-Grass Knot

Extremely effective against all top 10 leads. Metagross is capable of being annoying but oh well.

I'll probably try Hydro Pump over Surf sometime though.

<3 Lead Empoleon. I use this all the time; however, I've been toying with EVs and such. W/o Shuca, the standard Meta EQ still fails to KO iirc, leaving them in range for a Torrent boosted Hydro Pump (I don't remember if Surf works or not, but I think not).

Max Speed Meta leads are effective in my experience; extra bulk really doesn't matter since little if anything will OHKO you anyway. I usually run this with max Atk and Jolly and four attacks (no SR), but a more standard SR set is still nice. The four attack set is a nice anti-lead though.

Lead Starm is cool since it can Hydro Pump to weaken suicide leads, then Rapid Spin to finish and spin rocks away.

Dunno why, but i like using Lead Nidoking myself

Nidoking@ Focus Sash

252 sp.atk/252 spd/6 hp
Nature:the + sp. atk/- def one.
Rivalry

HP Grass
Earth Power
Ice Beam
Sucker Punch

That set helps me taking many leads. Azelf, Metagross,Swampert,Aerodactyl,Heatran...sometimes even Infernape.

Ok, it can't stop Stealth Rock from many of those. But it almost always leave my Sash intact,or take off their poke. Then, i take care of the Stealth Rocks on the field.

And since almost all of these are genderless, Rivalry is safe( and almost no one switches the genders of their pokes...)
