Where do you work?

Okay, so since the members here are like 14+ (roughly old enough to go to work) I thought it might be fun to discuss what you do as far as work.

I'm a clerk at a supermarket called Sobeys (If you're from Canada you may have heard of it.) I stock the shelves with food... but since my manager is high 90% of the time.. it's a really sweet job.

I work at a transportation lab near campus. We work on software that helps manage incidents that happen in the state, or help train people when accidents happen. It's pretty cool.

I got fired from my colostomy-bag/ass-wiping/piss-cleaning job as a care assistant because I've got issues [like 'not wanting to get out of bed at 6am to work 12 hour shifts 7 days a week].

I need a job.

I work at a Call Center for a broadband service. Sometimes it is very stressing but others it is hilarious. People are SO stupid :( Who the fuck invented digital inclusion? Salary blows and schedule is 6x1, I don't plan to stay for much time unless I earn a promotion.

I'm an Australian Rules Football Boundary Umpire (phew, that's a mouthful >.> ) to earn a bit extra cash. Basically means I'm paid to run around the outside of an oval (and throw balls into the air when required) for ~100 minutes at a time in really short shorts. Keeps me fit and pays a hell of a lot better than Maccas

Saturday and Sunday: Village cinemas, where i work JUST enough to get me as many free tickets as i want. Awesome

Wednesday: Unpaid work through my course at a place called 'Moe Life Skills' where i work with Intellectually Disabled adults in programs designed to allow them to accomplish there own goals and and become contributing members of the community.
On wednesday the activities usually include Men's Health, and Global Issues.

Thursday: Every second thursday as part of my course we have placements. I have had 4 weeks at a hospital, 4 weeks at a GP clinic, and will be starting 3 weeks at Aged Care, and then 4 weeks in Community Health. As with wednesday, this is unpaid.

as of now, I'm a layabout, having jacked in my shitty job stacking shelves at Sainsbury's, but I have just completed a Teaching English as a Foreign Language course, and am about half-way through organising a years work in South Korea.

I currently work at a law firm in the records department; it basically means I'm a glorified librarian. I don't mean to play downplay my importance though, I do a ton to help the attorneys and paralegals.

i work at an amusement park. it's pretty terrible but the hours are great d_D

im stock foreman so i gotta keep all the food booths stocked and take care of big orders of stuff from various distributors (sysco, pizza pizza, nestle ice cream, pepsi etc)

the kicker is that it's on an island so we can't exactly do daily deliveries so theyre always pretty huge e_e

sobeys suck.

i work as a grocery clerk on nights at zehrs. pretty easy job stocking, facing and playing cards:)

I work on developing 3d computer vision for NASA.

No, seriously, I do. I'm done in 2.5 weeks though. After that I won't have a job anymore :(

Since I'm 15 and too young to get a job, like at Wal-Mart, I work for one of my dad's old bosses, unpacking and stacking sysco products, such as materials for the food they make, I only work on sundays (days when the truck comes). They pay me 40$ for the day, which is about 5 hours.

I'm work at Delphi as an electrical engineering cooperative education student. It's the Electronics and Safety World Headquarters in Kokomo, IN which makes it an awesome fit for my major.

Basically, I work 40 hours a week on engineering development projects. So far I've done some research into active noise control, its uses, recent advancements, etc. It's allowed me to basically be able to inform my supervisor on whether or not it would be a successful venture and if we decided to enter it what our plan of attack would be.

Currently, I'm developing an optimal filter for radio data systems (RDS). RDS is the signal used heavily in Europe that delivers additional information to your radio such as station information, song name, artist, can find the same program on another channel when yours goes out of range, and can break in with news/traffic/weather.

you're not too young to get a job at 15 - I've been working since I was 14 [admittedly my career hasn't been exactly stellar], but still..

for some reason, not even the cheapest market will give me a job, as I need to be 16, and I just turned 15. The only way I could actually get on is a "pass", but I haven't really tried to get one.

I work at a golf course and it's pretty chill. I am either parking and rotating golf carts, driving a vendor cart around, or driving that big thing that picks up balls on the driving range. It's pretty easy work. I actually don't like to play golf, but I love golf carts so I got a job :).

It is not the best of pay, but I occasionally get tips and meet ALOT of people (connections are always good) so... its nice. It really works out in the summer because I can just take my little brother to work (he wants to be a professional golfer and practices nonstop) and he can play the course and hit balls while I work all day. Yay
