Where do you work?

Heh, I have a pretty cool job. I work at a rock climbing gym, but it's not really work because I've been climbing there for six years anyways. I basically go there, vaccuum for a bit, sweep, help customers, pick up the puppy poop (my boss breeds rottweilers), and chat with friends.

I do yardwork on the side for this old lady who just had reconstructive surgery (she'd had breast cancer).

I'm an intern this summer at Blue Cross Blue Shield doing statistical analysis and some operations modeling stuff, it's a pretty easy job and I only work 25-30 hours a week. I also teach an ACT math prep class at night once a week.

Over the summer I've been a researcher for Auburn University (working on reducing energy consumption in supercomputers & high performance clusters), normally I am my university's web designer.

I'm really supposed to be doing an engineering internship this summer, but my GPA wasn't good enough for me to apply to most of them. :(

I had the worst time ever trying to find a job this summer, but I found one eventually. I work at a movie theater. Minimum wage (which is getting raised tomorrow, thank you government >_>) and kind of tiring, but at least I get free movies and the managers aren't bad people.

I'm jobless right now but I'm looking forward to being a waitress at PFChangs, I have a few friends that work there. I used to work at an ice cream store called Maggie Moos, It's pretty similar to ColdStone =)

Nothing compares to Cold Stone Creamery, except Ben and Jerry's.

I had a non-paying job at a camp last summer (I.E. Work harder than the counselors for no pay and a CHANCE for a job) but I wasn't hired back. I'm re-applying there though, so hopefully I'll get hired there this time.

That's good work work/experience with all of the mega datacenters going up and the emphasis on low power consumption.

I work at a bank, at the age of 16.

Well, it isn't really what you would call a "job", but they pay you.Basically, a close friend of yours, or a family member, mostly the latter, signs you up into this program, and you get "trained" for a month. That's how they get their future employees, most of 'em.It's only in summer, though. And just a month.

I work all weekdays, from 8 AM to 1 PM(in the Department I got, till 12 PM, since my co-workers go have lunch), and I pretty much do anything I get told to...But I'm awesome, so I'm substituting what would have been one of my supervisors, so I'm practically am a normal worker, with half time, and a bit of less job, I already learned how to do most stuff, reports and...yeah, it's fun.

For a month, between July 7th(8th, since the first one is just the introduction, Bank's story, etc) to August 3rd(goodbye "party" and prizes), and I get paid 120 dollars. But if you happen to be one of the best 10s, you can get up to 250 dollars, which is AWWWWWRIGHT for barely a month.

My supervisors/co-workers say they're gonna nominate me and stuff...and I have seen I work a lot more than other tutees, since they seem to be stuck copying papers, looking for stuff...though I do that, too.But I can do computer stuffz.

Lol, you can sorta see I actually like this job by how much time I took into making this post.

Edit: the Bank is pretty much the first REAL private(for citizens to use) in my country, and I would say it's also the best one, or so it seems, around here.I had always been involved in this bank, since my favorite cousins happen to be the sons of the person that got me into this job...One of my cousins already works as a full-fledged employee in the Marketing Department.

Edit 2: I work in the Loans Department...of some sort.

Edit 3: I don't get to interact with customers, that's a plus =) From times to times I have to pick up the phone, but I don't need to talk with...um...commoners.

What the hell are you talking about, just because Maggie Moos is in competition with Coldstone doesn't make Coldstone better. Maggie Moos actually won some ice cream awards over CSC...

I am currently a webmaster for my high school. It's only a summer job, though. In the school year, I do it as part of a class. I get paid minimum wage, but I get access to free cookies and cheap pop.

I also work at a golf course, one of the nicest ones in canada! I do pretty much exactly what that other guy does, free golf is awesome also.

great summer job, great excuse to not work during school. Love it.

I work at a golf course too. Everyone at the place are rich as hell and they barely ever tip me >:[

As a second job I flip burgers.

I work for my Dad's biotech company. I cut up lungs 6 or 7 days a week for like 3-5 hours a day. So the hours are short, but I'm on minimum wage, and I have a butload of responsibility. Basically I do it because someone has to and no one else in the world would be willing to work under these conditions.

Have a nice day.

Um, agreeding with Mormoopid.

I mean, working with the NASA lol D= I wonder how you got that job?

This "other guy" agrees that it is the perfect summer job.
The great Southern California weather makes it even better.

I work at an outdoor summer restauraunt by the water washing dishes, cleaning tables, and basically doing other janitorial work. I make better than minimum wage, but I don't get many hours a week.

At the moment I work here as a reviewer, though I help out with news and whatnot as required. It's not really a proper job, though, as it's unpaid. But it's what I love doing, and with any luck it'll help me get a paying job as a critic.

I'm an (unpayed) intern at interscope/geffen records, which has been kind of boring - I spend most days just doing boring office stuff like expense reports and filing and stuff. Every three days or so though I get to do something cool like I go work backstage at TRL every once in a while, where I have met a bunch of celebrities. I also get a ridiculous amount of free CDs, so yeah it's not bad, and it beats summer school or SAT classes or whatever else I might have ended up doing.

In the other part of the summer I'm a lifeguard at a country club pool. I get pretty ridiculous pay, like $14+ an hour, but I can only work like an absolute max of about 4 hours. However, I've managed to make even more by offering swim lessons for little kids when I'm not on a shift, so yeah, if you are a good swimmer, I wholeheartedly reccomend getting lifeguard certified. You make a ton of money just for sitting on your ass in the sun.

Jesus Christ that sounds like a fucking uber job; sitting all day and get paid 14 dollars the hour, which will net you 56 dollars per day, 284 per week(20 hours a week), and 1120 per month. *drools*

That's not a bad alternative...
