Yeah, I've played comp. 3S, and I've played high-level CvS2, and some A3/ST. I'm really big on SF, and generally play shotos. Oddly enough, 3S is my best game, and it's the one most unlike all the others. In ST I play Ryu, in A3 I play Akuma and in 3S I play Ken/Mak/Ryu/Hugo. I thoroughly enjoy 3S for its mixup-dominated gameplay - it just generally makes for faster paced, more dynamic (if less strategic) bouts.
First time back to Smogon in a while and a Fighting Games thread is up top? :))) and somehow I knew I'd run into you here man, I'll be getting XBL soon if you play on that bychance.
Personally I could never break my initial plateau in 3S, but yes I agree on the more dynamic nature of it, one of the most entertaining fighters to watch, and you don't have to be gosu to understand what's going on either. Gonna have to get it soon and up my Oro and Hugo game I guess.
I did manage to get into competitve MvC2, back before unfly madness took over the game, after that I couldn't quite keep up, gettin older. I was doing pretty well in the NE and SE Canadian Soul Calibur 2 scene for a bit too, but anyone who plays fighters knows what SC has degraded into :/ It's nice going from MvC2 to SC2 Taki and Yoshi, definitely the fast finger types. Could never RC consistantly enough in CvS2 to get too competitive, but for a while my K Geese/Honda/Sagat served me strangely well in tourneys.
More recently I got VF5 for 360, so I've been trying to pick up my game as well, but lack of online play limits my comp unfortunately. I love it so far, there doesn't seem to be any one character that it broken, per se, though El Blaze can be pretty annoying...
damn I gotta get online play :) people should compile gametags!
edit-kudos to Surgo for MTG, fighters, and Spinal Tap :)
