Why Make A RMT if you aren't original?

Why you are here :

I'm guessing you were curious on what the title really means and you want to debate against it.

Purpose :

Why would a low-life like me, Emery make such a retarded thread? I thought that I needed to point out something. You can get mad at me if I'm wrong, but would that solve anything?

The Fun Stuff :

Now, the main reason I want to point out is that why would you post a RMT if you already know the outcome? I'm mainly pointing this out to all you "OU" users. I mean, look at the slim roster for the OU tiers. We all know the basic Moveset for each one, so why would we ask?

Why I made this Post :

Take a look at all of the OU people out there :

Jim Vs. Mike

Jim sent out Gyrados!
Mike sent out Bronzong!
Gyrados used Dragon Dance!
Bronzong used Gyro Ball!
Gyrados got hit xx%!
Gyrados used Dragon Dance!
Bronzong switched out!

--------------

Now, what I'm trying to point out is that people already know what's going to happen next, a Waterfall and sweep by Gyrados.

Unless you can actually make your own movesets, I wouldn't care about this, but most teams out there are most, if not all OU teams.
Sure, it may help, but what's the point of using Pokemon you see everyday over and over and over again? Hear me out on this, to prove that you actually do have skill and talent in the field of Pokemon, shouldn't you use your own moveset so we can finally have some real skill?

In Conclusion :

I'm sorry if this offends anyone, has already been said, or is in the wrong forum, but I just think posting up RMTs that only have all OU is pointless.

You do have to remember that its not necessarily in the pokes that are used, but in what combinations they are used in to produce a strategy that produces a win.

Many OU pokemon have multiple sets; people frequently use lower-tiered pokemon on OU team, people tweak movesets for their own purposes, people make their own strategies, and people put together different combinations of Pokemon.

It doesn't matter if you use all of the standard movesets. What really matters is that you combine the right Pokemon so that your team works as a whole.

That's where the originality is. It's not all in the movesets of each Pokemon.

All I am saying is that around 90% of the people I battled have used standard sets, copying off of people with videos or Warstories.

I'm not saying everyone SHOULD create own movesets, but only try and test them out, rather than using things people already have made every single time they battle.

I used 1 or 2 OU standards every month or so, but I still have some own movesets. I test them out and if they don't work, try again.

Simple answer:

We are a competitive battling community. We strive to be the best of the best. In order to be the best we have to use the best pokemon. Goofball for example is a great player, but if he were to challenge me (I am not that great) with NU pokemon, and I was using top-tier OU's then I would most likely win as I have a huge advantage.

Now the RMT section is there to improve your teams. It doesn't matter how standard they are, there is always room for improvement.

So why make a team if we aren't original? We want to improve our damn teams no matter how standard they are. Everyone has the right to try and improve their teams, not just those that use original pokemon/sets

I keep reiterating myself.

I just wanted to get the word out though. There is room for better things, just saying that to be the best, we could use some others, but why not try new things?

I think you've gotten your answer.

Your title does not say, why dont you try new things

It implies that we shouldn't bother making a RMT thread if we are not original.

I am saying that it doesn't matter how standard our team is, we still want to improve our team, and that is why we bother making RMT's even when we are not original.

Alright, alright.

Because the standards have been tested and they do work. What's the point of making an "original" moveset that is completely shitty and ineffective? I don't suppose you are a supporter of Blizzard Weavile, are you?
*Runs off to test original physical Alakazam set*

well, emery, i for one am behind you with this. i feel that people should make there own sets every once in a while maybe just to try something new. it make no scene when people say that they have a gyra weakness and ask other people to fix it for them. if they know whats wrong with the team then there are plenty of options in the strategy pokedex to use or they could just tweek their team a little and add HP electric over ice beam on their vaporeon. after all, it is called rate my team not fix my team because im too lazy to do it myself.

Wolf_Parade: It is called RMT, but if you read the rules the whole point is to have your team fixed....

Also sometimes the problem with your team is not obvious, so you need better people to help you. Don't assume that all people who make a RMT are lazy.

you have to get used to the standards before you strike out on your own.

if you dont like tried and true standard movesets, don't play ou

this is a serebii caliber topic.

yes, but, a lot of people are relying too much on it.

does that mean that all those people like me, who have perused their teams only too often, but are cursed with the lack of a shoddy/wifi supportin internet connection and forced to look to others for opinions (cause they can't test the team and they've looked over it a million times) are lazy? I, for one, am not lazy. since I can't test teams, I spend a very long time in the teambuilding process, and I'm sorry if my format isn't easy enough for you to read!

the fact that people are sometimes forced to rely on other peoples' help is a given in any community, be it a forum, a family household, or a country's government. your scorn for this appalls me.

no, thats not what i meant. actually, i read you RMT over ursaring and enjoyed it very much. i ment rate my teams where someone throws togeather six different pokes and practicly asks you to make a team for them.
