Wii Virtual Console Guide

Streets of Rage deserves a mention, as it is truly awesome. Also, thanks for this, I'll probably download some more games now I know what to avoid.

Edit: Downloaded BATTLE LODE RUNNER and Bomberman '93 yesterday, Bomberman is a bit repetitive on single player but still a lot of fun if you have two or more players. BATTLE LODE RUNNER is a lot more tactical than it first seems, and you have to actually figure out the way to do a level as well as avoiding the monsters. It's not a truly brilliant game, but its worth a look if you like action/puzzlers.

It took me two years, yes TWO YEARS, to complete Super Ghosts 'n' Ghouls on the SNES when I was 10 years old. I can't believe I kept bothering, I always thaught I just sucked at it.

Another game, not quite as hard as GnG but still hard, is Pocky and Rocky. It is very much fun to play though, I enjoyed it when I was still the SNESkid. You could download it Steelicks.

pocky and rocky isnt available on Wii VC just yet, lexer xD

adding "adventures of lolo", a game Roy recommended to me. it might be the best NES title available yet

Thanks, Steelicks! But our princess is in another castle...

I have tons of wii points and I've been debating on what to get, and filtering out all the games I already have for my genesis/snes, I'll pretty much be buying everything you've recommended, since I've heard great things about all of them. Every single person I've talked to(and even a few married folks) have said LoZ: Alttp is a 10/10 game, so I know I MUST have it. (I've recently become a Zelda fan-boy thanks to Ocarina alone which I recently bought)

Absolutely agree with the DKC2 review. One of my all-time favorites and the best in the trilogy by a mile. Also I finally got around to finishing gunstar heroes with a friend... wow. 10/10 to both.

added Megaman! get it! it's Mega!

f-zero X is also available in europe, but i dont know if im gonna get it. opinions?

F-Zero X is a great game. Though the levels are somewhat bland(it is an N64 game), the CPU can provide a great challenge. Especially when you play expert-master cup levels. F-Zero X has 30 vehicles to choose from, which you must have to unlock them. There are 5 cups total(2, of which, you must unlock). So, yeah, I think you should try it.

There isn't much reason to buy Megaman though unless you hate Wily's castle. When there is this awesome game called Megaman Anniversary Collection.

add me to that group of people that said lttp is a 10/10 game. i completed it more than 20 times over the past 10 years and i'd probably play it again sometime. that alone says enough hehe

I dunno, I always found it pretty repetitive. The only thing that could ever hold my attention in that game is the 30-car death match, and even that isn't TOO much fun.

yeah, it doesnt look that appealing to me, despite the large amount of positive reviews. i might just pass

I think I'll compliment this thread with a few reviews of my own as I started to amass a good sized VC collection.

But the big news is that Paper Mario (N64) should be coming out very soon as it has been listed, no official date yet though, I'm sure plenty of us enjoyed that game (or will enjoy it for the first time).

From July 17th (I think, could be wrong) Stars gained on the Nintendo Europe website for registering games etc. can be used to buy wii points, so when that happens I will definitely be giving your recommendations a look (I have 7000 stars)

I remember the dialog from Starfox 64 being pretty insane. Particularly the train guy.

Is it really that "campy" feeling all these years later?
