Xav Vs. ToastTyrant13, with a beginner's "Gym Battle"

Status
Not open for further replies.
Welcome everyone to the Fighting Gym. Today, we will witness a beginner's battle between the "Gym Leader" ToastTyrant13, and the "challenger" Xav. As on official ASB league referee, I don't like semantics. So here are the details;

Looking for a good ol' Trainin' Battle!

3 vs. 3 Singles
NFE 1st Stages only (Bulbasaur, yes; Tropius, no)
2 Day DQ
4 Chills, 5 Recoveries

Arena: Fighting Gym Idea

The opponents face off in a large rectangular arena, about 50 feet wide and 75 feet long. The building itself is 100 by 100, but the remaining portion is roped off to keep spectators safe and away from the arena. The cieling (which is 30 feet above the ground) is lined with sharp stalagtites due to the designs of the gym, so seismic moves and rock slides can be used to hit opponents in the air. These stones and rocks, as well as large stones found on the dirt-floor, give all Rock type moves +1 BP, as well as perfect accuracy. Large vats of water are stored in the 4 corners of the building, so water type moves are usable, but cost an addtional 3 energy to draw forth. To level the playing field to prevent easy wins for the challenger, a loud Bell is chimed at the beginning of each round to reduce the power of Psychic type moves by 1 BP.

Any takers? :D
I'll take you on.

And here are the challenger Xav's pokemon;

Porygon (Zim)
Nature: Modest (+SpA -Atk)
Type: Normal
Normal: Normal STAB; adapt comfortably to any surrounding after 3 actions. Able to use Outrage without losing focus.

Abilities:
Download: (Innate) At the beginning of the match, the Pokemon analyzes the opponent and downloads data that lets it deal more damage. This Pokemon receives a one (1) stage increase on the offense that strikes an opponent’s weaker defense stat. (e.g. does more damage with special attacks when facing Aggron, which has higher defense, and attack when facing Hypno, which has higher special defense. For ties, Special Attack is raised.) This boost is maintained at the end of each round.
Trace: (Can be Activated) This Pokemon can copy an ability of the opponent and replace Trace for six (6) actions. Wonder Guard cannot be Traced
Analytic (DW): (Can be Enabled) If this Pokemon attacks second during an action, its attacks have two (2) more Base Attack Power.

Since ToastTyrant issued the challenge, he will send out his first pokemon. Then Xav will send out his first pokemon and issue orders, then ToastTyrant will issue orders. Good luck trainers, and BEGIN!!

C'mon Mumbo let's make your first battle one to remember.

First off, hit him with a Sleep Powder. Then make sure it is a Sunny Day, we don't want any inclenment weather ruining our fun. Finish off with a SolarBeam. If you're Taunted, make sure you attack with Giga Drain and Bind.

Sleep Powder ~ Sunny Day ~ SolarBeam
IF Taunt replace remaining actions with Giga Drain ~ Bind ~ Giga Drain

Okay Wood, let's take the defensive, shall we? Start off by taunting him to prevent his dirty tricks! Follow up by poisoning him with some deadly toxins, and end this round with a confuse ray!

Okay, let the battle begin! ToastTyrant13, the Fighting Gym Leader hopeful, leads with his Scratchet named Wood, and the challenger, Xav, responds with Mumbo the Tangela.

Mumbo tries to start off the match by preparing a Sleep Powder, but Wood, the Prankster he is, Taunts Mumbo. He irritates Mumbo so much, that his attempts to fire a Sleep Powder fail. Hmm. It seems Wood is inside Mumbo's head. But forcing your opponent to attack you can have dangerous consequences. Let's see how this affects the match.

Wood, using his Shaman-like abilities, is able to conjure a Toxic poison that will sap Mumbo's health away at an alarming rate. Mumbo tries concentrating on creating a Sunny Day effect in the arena, but he loses his focus because of Wood's earlier taunts and the move fails.

Wood once more desires to inflict status problems upon his challenger, and Draws upon his mystical powers to launch a Confuse Ray at Mumbo, and it causes Severe Confusion!! Mumbo will need some luck to overcome all these status! He is able to fight through his confusion for now, and fires a SolarBeam at Wood, hitting him for solid damage.

Alright, let's keep this party coaster rollin'! Oh, right, I'm supposed to be professional! Let the match continue!!

Mumbo takes the initiative this round, and is able to once again overcome his confusion, and is able to attack Wood with a Giga Drain, restoring what little health he lost to the poison thus far. Wood responds by channeling his Hidden Power to hurt Mumbo.

Mumbo once more fights through the mental pain of confusion, and begins taking in sunlight. Wood, in a bit of a panic, pulls some Bricks from the wall (not a good idea, by the way) and places them on Mumbo's face. He then Breaks the Bricks on his opponents face, an unusual style, to be sure. Mumbo finishes taking in sunlight and fires another SolarBeam at Wood. It seems Wood's tactic of forcing Mumbo to attack has backfired...

Wood is not about to simply go down without putting up more of a fight, but he needs more health first. So he takes a moment to Roost (even though he wasn't in the air...) to regain some health. Mumbo, having shaken off his confusion, hits Wood with another Giga Drain to regain some health, too.

Thank you for joining us here at this make-shift Fighting Gym. We are in the middle of a match between ToastTyrantt13, the hopeful Fighting Gym leader, and Xav, the challenger. Gym leaders are a crafty bunch, but I have personally suffered through Xav's effective brutality. Who will come out on top? Let's find out;

Wood once again resorts to his Prankster ways, Taunting Mumbo, preventing set-up. Mumbo has a contingency plan for such a scenario, and fires a SolarBeam to lay some more beating down on Wood for his being so mean.

Wood apparently isn't taking Mumbo very seriously, and Yawns at him, making him tired. Mumbo gets even angrier, and drains Wood's health with Giga Drain.

Wood, running low on health, goes back to offense, and Breaks more Bricks on Mumbo's face. Mumbo responds by firing yet another SolarBeam, which is enough to knock out the shaman-bird...thing. Wood has been KO'ed!

I am SUPER...SUPER...SUPER sorry about this, but I'm gonna' have to call DQ (unless everybody would want to wait a week) since I'm leaving for vacation tommorow.

Sorry about this guys, but thanks for the time you guys put it in.
