XY Metagame Speculation [SPOILERS ITT]

I wonder if that rumour is true Chansey would become Normal/Fairy. Not really a huge difference but the Ghost resist in exchange for a Fighting immunity could be worth it.

I really do wonder where Poison and Steel attacks could come from to deal with the new Fairies. There are some obvious Steel choice but Poison could still be meh in Ubers.
 
That rumor was revealed false days ago. That's not saying it couldn't still happen (and in fact Chansey seems like a prime candidate), but there is no confirmation.
 
Ah, man you just come to rain on all my rumor parades lol. Thanks for correcting me on these rumors, I don't check up enough on them to know when they get debunked. Btw, where was this one proven false? Pbeach still hasn't updated to say it's bogus.

I highly doubt game freak would do something like this and if they do blissey's ass is headed straight for ubers not just as an OU pokemon who commonly resides there. I mean to be locked away and never see the likes of OU again. Fairy normal woul just be over the top for blissey... The end

The dragon immunity will be so sick! If she gets normal and fairy man giratina can just hang up his cost and go home. That man will be done working for the day.lol blissey will be having none of is stab tom foolery.

My b I meant Fighting neutrality and Ghost Immunity lol

Point still stands it'd probably be one of the only decent Ghost resists in the tier, Dragon immunity is really just a nice bonus.

Pokebeach hasn't updated, but the supposed leaker confessed on the actual blog where he was giving the rumors. Shame, too, I liked alot of his ideas.

Hardly. Max/Max+ Blissey can be 2HKOd by Jolly Garchomp's unboosted Earthquake. Fairy would be a huge boost to Blissey, yes, but its physical bulk is still unremarkable and it can be hit by coverage moves.

True but from a support stand point I don't see this pokemon not ubers. It's capable of supporting most if not all teams from a special stand point, it will be able to come in on outrages and preform it's supporting duties. Blissey wouldn't need to take any physical hits because if it received fairy typing it will be able to come in a check one of the single most powerful types in ubers.

It appears you can mega evolve and attack at the same turn so I think BP Blaziken will be something in X and Y since it can protect and get the speed boost in the same turn it mega eloves :]

We've known that for quite awhile now. Mega Blaziken could have some use, but it really depends on how much more powerful it gets. We could easily end up in a situation where it's weaker than a life orb Blaziken, the lack of Recoil will be nice regardless.

Also are we sure the thing gets BP?
 
Yeah, the only reason we don't already have BP Speed Boost ken is cause the Speed Boost ken are all male. (and BP is an egg move) Now, we can just breed a blaze Blaziken with BP and mega evolve for Baton Pass.

The thing I'm interested in knowing is that, since Speed Boost requires a full turn, will you get the speed buff the turn you mega evolve since you started that turn with Blaze and not Speed Boost?
 
Yes, it has been shown in a video they released yesterday. You can MegaEvolve, Attack and gain a Speed Boost in the same turn :]
 
Well, actually, that was with a Speed Boost Blaziken that mega evolved. So at the start of the turn it halready had the ability. I'm wondering if it would work the same with a blaze blaziken because at the start of the turn you don't have speed boost so it might not count as a full turn spent to get the stat buff.
 
That brings up a lot we don't know about Mega Evolving in general. For example, if I have a Garchomp out vs Salamence and Mega Evolve into Mega Grachomp who has lower speed do I attack right then or would Salamence attack and then I go?

I'm guessing since Speed Boost activates at the end of the turn you'd be able to Mega Evolve by using Protect.

Mence attacks first obviously. Same if you used trick room in doubles and you were originally slower.

On the other hand we have no idea if there's another way to handle hazards, or another Pokemon who could be good in Ubers.
 
Charizard form with boosted SpAtk and Drought that will likely replace Ninetails on every Sun team

the problem with both megazards is they will still take 50% sr damage because the come out as it is normal charizard originally

i dunno about this because of what i mentioned above and the fact that only 1 mega is alloud on every team.As for ubers bar the people who use itfor just fun it wont be nearly as good a groudon

What does it mean by 'protecting'? If it's a Protect that can hurt Pokemon also that's pretty amazing.

I swear to god if Ferrothorn doesn't get it..
 
Greninja looks really awesome. I'm expecting and hoping it learns Nasty Plot, it would be a good fast NP user with like NP, Surf, Dark Pulse and coverage move. It must have around 110/120 Speed and SpA. Seems pretty cool to me.


Also, that Fur Coat ability looks awesome. A defensive equivalent to Huge Power, basically everything that learns it will become really bulky on the physical side. But Furfrou may very well be the only one to learn it. It has decent SpA and Speed coupled to Fur Coat and Baby-Doll Eyes, but is normal type which is a huge disadvantage for a physically defensive pokemon, and seems to have poor offensive stats. It could be a quite good special wall but it will probably be completely outclassed by Blissey, Chansey, Snorlax, Umbreon, Porygon2...However depending on its movepool it could still be somehow viable. Like, if it learns recover it could be interesting to use it with Baby-Doll Eyes.

Now Doublade seems really interesting. Looks a lot like Cofagrigus, with really high defense, quite low HP and nice Atk and SD when Cofa has nice SpA and NP. The thing is Doublade is ghost/steel type which is purely amazing imo. I mean steel type with Fighting immunity.... Plus, if it get Stealth Rock/Spikes (which is possible thanks to its steel type, lots of em can use SR) it could be hazard setter and anti-spinner at the same time...
Now on the offensive side, unlike Cofagrigus, it has Autotomize to remedy his awful speed, as well as a STAB priority in Shadow Sneak.
Also Steel/Ghost has a pretty good coverage, resisted only by Bisharp, Houndoom, Sharpedo, Crawdaunt, Greninja and Bibarel (lol). And possibly new unconfirmed pokemons.
And I forgot to mention that it has No Guard. Which can either be a really good ability or completely useless for him, depending on what it learns...
I'm very curious to see what move a double sword can learn. Maybe Cross Chop ? Would be nice with a 100% accuracy, maybe Hypnosis, which woud be awesome on Doublade too.
