XY OU Analysis Reservation Index - READ CAREFULLY (MAKING A NEW THREAD)

I'm sorry, I'm going to have to drop Gorebyss, I was finishing up my analysis and some thing popped up saying Security Error, refresh page and I thought stuff would be saved there and nothing all blank.

Alright, I managed to recover some of my Gorebyss analysis from another tab thankfully so I'll just reserve it again and just post the WIP and rapidly continue from there.

This has sort of been ignored/unmentioned after somebody else brought it up, but I'd like to advocate making an analysis for Staraptor.

And no, before you scream "holy shit you're new at this" or "Talonflame," I'm gonna offer that 1) I'm QC, have been experienced at experimenting with Staraptor as well as a ton of other Pokemon, so I know what I'm talking about, and 2) Yes, while Talonflane exists and is a centralizing presence in the meta game, its existence doesn't necessarily eliminate Staraptor's entire usability or viability. In fact, it actually does the opposite in some respects.

So yes, while Staraptor already has quite a difficult time operating with the big boys on top on Talonflame being the new good OU bird, it deserves one for:
  • Operating differently from Talonflame. While Talonflame for the most part functions as a revenge killer, Staraptor prefers to wallbreak and destroy. Just with Brave Bird and disregarding alternative coverage options, it manages to break through a ton of resists and checks, including defensive Jirachi and Rotom-W. Staraptor is also often unprepared for because of Close Combat and Double Edge, which offers different coverage against would-be Talonflame targets, such as Heatran and Rotom-W. ...which brings me to my next point.
  • It is one of the best offensive partners for Talonflame. By using a Choice Band or Sharp Beak set on Staraptor, it is able to break through or heavily damage most of Talonflame's checks and counters. Talonflame can therefore afford to run a Swords Dance more safely with Heatran (2HKOed with multiple Brave Birds or one Close Combat), Rotom-W (lured with Brave Bird and dispatched with either Double Edge or a second Brave Bird), and other checks and counters, while it can get past some of Staraptor's own if necessary.
So yes, please.

Since noone seems to be doing it, can I reserve Venusaur? I've only been playing XY properly for less than a week, but I've played a lot of games, and I've been using mega venusaur pretty much the whole time, and that thing is fantastic.

I'm not sure if a sun set is even warranted, so I would need to test that out.

edit: just saw this

Once my queue clears (I just need qc checks) I'll hit up Venusaur.

I also want to physically test Rhyperior. It seems okay this generation in singles for OU but well see.

While this was a good 5 days ago and can't be considered a proper reservation, I'm happy to let Colonel M do venusaur provided he still wants to. I'm sure he'll do a better job than I would.

Only badgeholders can reserve three analyses at once. I'd recommend you finish up Sableye and Tyrantrum first as neither have received a single QC check yet.
Ack, I missread the rules, I thought I could reserve more when my analyses were QC ready (not written up as the rules actually say). Derp. Sorry about that
