XY OU Analysis Reservation Index - READ CAREFULLY (MAKING A NEW THREAD)

I'll not be able to test and write up the Defensive Aerodactyl set. I am very interested in continuing the Aerodactyl set, but the specific one posted by alexwolf that does deserve a set I'm unable to write. So I guess anyone else can do it n_n.

[NOT the aero analysis, just the set]

Will I get banned, its a lot of info
Not at all. In C&C, we encourage you to make posts as thorough as necessary, and more than is necessary if it will make our jobs easier by painting a clearer picture as to the effectiveness of a set. Feel free to write as much as you have to in order to explain the set to us, but remember that written evidence is best backed up by solid replays. It makes it a lot easier for us to judge the viability of a Pokemon.

Essentially what we are asking for is proof that the Pokemon is effective. The analyses we put up must be as competitive and viable as possible, and because of that, we have very high quality standards that include making sure that the sets displayed are truly worth using.

I present hereby present... SubCM Klefki

Kliefki Leftovers Bold

252 HP 252 Defense 4 SpAtt

Bold

Substitute

Flash Cannon/HP Ground

Dazzling Gleam/HP Ground

Calm Mind

After taking a look at Kleifki's stats, I was shocked to see how bulky he was. Boasting 97 Defenses and a not bad 80 with access to Prankster, I looked at the moves and saw he had access to Calm Mind. Why this isn't a thing I do not know, but lets get down with the basics.

Set Details

Max Investment is put into HP and Defense to make Kliefki as bulky as possible. You could run 252/172/84 to make Kliefki more Offensive if you wish, but be aware that Subs will be easier to break while being able to hit hard. Substitute can be used to scout for status and block it as well. Flash Cannon is a strong STAB thats hit annoyances like Togekiss, Froslass, and Clefable (who doesn't care about Calm Mind) Dazzling Gleam is Kliefki's Fairy STAB and even though it may not be as powerful as Flash Cannon, it still hits a lot of the Dragon Types in OU. HP Ground is an option over one of his STABs to hit pokes like Heatran and other Fire Types who wall you. It also hits opposing Steel Types like Bisharp who would simply laugh and set up Swords Dance. HP Fire can be used to hit Ferrothorn and Skarmory, but Skarmory will just Whirlwind you regardless with Sturdy and Ferrothorn can only Gyro Ball you (if they run that for some reason) Calm Mind make him a nice Bulky Sopecial tank being able to set up on incoming Special attacks thanks to Prankster. This works well with Substitute making him a very dangerous Bulky Attacker.

Team Options

Kliefki with this set is very nice bulky attacker, however no matter which set you run, something will wall you. Flash Cannon+Dazzling Gleam is walled by Heatran, Dazzling Gleam+HP Ground is walled by Skarmory, Flash Cannon+HP Ground is walled by Rotom-W, and all of these sets are walled by Chansey. Due to his versatility, Kliefki can go with a variety of team partners that can fight these pokes so your team will depend on the moveset you choose. Pivot Lando-T can scare off Heatran and Knock Off Chansey's Eviolite while boasting Flying to evade EQ and Intimidate to take any physical move that would kill Kliefki. Kliefki is also a good partber for U-Turn due to his ecellent typing and bulk. Vaporeon can take Fire type attacks while being able to pass Wishes to Kliefki and burn any physical attackers that could be troublesome to Kliefki while Kliefki can come in on Mega Venusaur and proceed to set up (watch out for HP Fire) Latios is also a good partner resisting both of Kliefki's weaknesses while Kliefki does the same. Latios can also clear the field with Defog and hit Rotom-W and Chansey with Psyshock. Mega Tyranitar is a good partner being to wall Fire Type attacks and set up Dragon Dance. Kliefki (enjoying the sandstorm) can wall Fairy Type attacks such as Play Rough. Mega Pinsir also appreciates Kliefki for coming in on Rock and Flying type moves while Pinsir is immune to ground and can scare off the likes of Excadrill.
Ok

stuff about keys

It's way too weak, slow, (when using attacking moves) and outclassed even by its own support sets to be useful. That's just it. Your explanation was just "oh it gets Calm Mind let's make it work" which is a bad idea. Not every wall like Cresselia needs to be a bulky attacker (though Cress is annoying because it never dies so it's better too)

On that note:

I can do this.

Also Goodra will be done soon, sorry for that.

Edit @below and that's what I just said, your explanation was bad and I'm not going to keep posting about it because it's a dumb set.

I just posted the set above and allthe notes I have on it. Just click the show button on my comment and it'll have every detail from there

sorry UltragamerShiko but there's no way subcm klefki is getting an analysis. to give you a bit more explanation than 'lol it's bad':

- weak
- poor stab coverage that leaves it walled by many common pokemon
- easily revenge killed/koed
- loses all its supporting utility
- outclassed by every single pokemon that can boost
- can't sweep for its life

is Heatran revamp still up? If so can i take it? Also what is different with revamp? o.o

The Heatran revamp is currently being done, sorry.

When you update something, you basically redo the analysis except with information from the current metagame. Revamps will open up when an old analysis becomes outdated.

ahhh ok cool :], btw what is open then -_- I didn't see a reservation for Heatran so I don't know what is open or not

Can i reserve Trick Room Victini and Trick Room Diancie? I know that both Pokemon are reserved, but i don't think that a TR set was planned for them, so i can just write those sets up separately and when the whole analyses are done we can add them there. Here are the sets btw:

Victini @ Flame Plate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def
Brave Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Trick Room
- V-Create
- Bolt Strike
- Final Gambit

Diancie @ Mental Herb / Focus Sash / Leftovers
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def
Brave Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Stealth Rock
- Trick Room
- Diamond Storm
- Explosion

If justification as to why those two deserve sets is needed, let me know.

Trick Room Victini is in its analysis already. The set you have is different (Final Gambit > Brick Break), so I think just editing thedeafelectrician's set would be better.

on the Seismitoad analysis, the EVs add up to 518. This can be fixed by taking the speed EVs down to 172, which achieves what the analysis says the EVs achive.

good call, fixed this. Also, for future reference, this sort of thing is what the small objective changes thread is for :]

giving up Diancie. I dont have the time to really do it since school started up again. Plus this thing isn't really that great in OU to begin with.

also sorry for the lack of activity, I'll pick it up as soon as I can.
