XY Ubers Analysis Index

Really? rain dance max hp plus 3 special attack dosent sound like garbage to me.
Rain got nerfed and with how prevalent status is in the current meta it gets owned. It's slow and is easily revenge killed by a ton of Scarf (Zekrom, Kyogre, etc.) sets in the tier while it doesn't have the speed to really sweep. As if this wasn't bad enough it gets shat on by the heavy amount of priority users this gen and it just isn't that bulky by Ubers standards. It's Taunt bait against two S rank mons while the other two can swamp it with Thunder. Even if it ever gets +3, which it won't against any competent player it's easily checked by much of the defensive tier. It's not even on the Ubers viability thread so if you want to argue it being viable post there (Hint: it's not, and that's coming from the guy who tried to pass Chansey).

Meh no worries i just get the same cheesy sweep with manaphy after own tail glow as mega luke and such.
PS Tail glow = Plus 3 its its not that had to set up with.

Manaphy is garbage. +3 means nothing when you can't even KO common Pokemon like Dialga or certain support Arceus. 100 Speed is nice I guess, but you're again outsped by support Arceus forms and are very easy to revenge kill.

+3 252 SpA Manaphy Surf vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Arceus-Fairy: 261-307 (58.7 - 69.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Notice just max HP and no SpDef.

+3 252 SpA Manaphy Ice Beam vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Dialga: 204-240 (50.4 - 59.4%) -- 81.6% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

lol not even a guaranteed 2HKO, not to mention support ones run a lot more SpDef anyway.

So if you're sweeping with Manaphy in Ubers, your opponent must be... yeah.

I think that one of the -only- things manaphy can do kindof well is check blaziken, as low kick is the standard on blaze now unless youre a scrub like me and still use hjk (I didnt know low kick was legal with speed boost) as manaphy takes 20 base from low kick, can take a knock off at +2 and resists flare blitz. However if we write an analysis for manaphy on this basis then the talonflame analysis that follows is mine (no)

Since this is April Fool's Day (I'm in PST if anyone's confused), I believe that I should reserve a Pokemon so powerful that Kyogre shudders just thinking about it, a sweeper so terrifying that when the rain falls, all who gaze upon it cower in terror.....Ludicolo. I still think it works, don't judge.

Perhaps its just one of those cases like last gen gothitelle just not good enough for ou but too good for uu

This is Ubers...

Also it's usage based for lower tiers meaning it's just indirectly relating to how good or bad something is, besides banlists like the BLs.

Can we please stop talking about Manaphy?

Also, is there any useful analysis that hasn't been reserved yet?

Um i apologize. I did not mean to inconvenience you. Thank you for giving the time to explain yourself at least.

Reserving Deoxys-D. I may also write up the Hippowdon analysis if no one else wants to within the next several days.

My analyses have been written up (I have a draft of Sableye's saved for when it gets 2/3ed), so my plate is somewhat empty again. Reserving Dragon Arceus.

aww... i wanted Arceus-Dragon :)

Jirachi doesn't have an analysis, just for those that may be looking for a viable mon to write on.

There are many more too (Psychic Arceus, Smeargle, Cloyster, Cresselia, and Whimsicott, to name a few off the top of my head). I'm reserving Garchomp btw

Edit: never mind, going to hold off on chomp for now because, well, it's not nearly as good this gen. If anyone else wants to take it, feel free, though tbh it looks like the only thing that could work is a sub + sd set but without permanent sand it's "meh"

I will take Jirachi then if that's OK, as I have Reshiram written up in Word waiting for a second QC check, then i can just copypaste it.

after having tested Jirachi today on Wi-Fi and on PS, i think that it kindof sucks and maybe isn't even viable in this tier. If it does deserve an analysis, i think it would be better if someone with more experience than me should write it.

For this reason, I retract my Jirachi reservation and instead am reserving Arceus-Psychic

Jirachi is def viable, and I'm not just saying that to try and get psychic-ceus from you.

Minority Suspect

Arceus-Pathetic is mine, hands off (gives you evil stare) <3.

I know that Jirachi can do things, but the set I worked up was careful full investment, and it was such Ho-Oh/Yveltal bait that I basically ended up with way too many options. Jirachi obviously wants Iron Head, then it wants recovery in Wish, then it wants Protect, then it wants a paralyzing move (body slam/thunder wave), then it wants Toxic as well, then it wants U-Turn, then it would like an elemental punch or two so as to not give Zekrom/Scizor free switchins, then it would like to be able to use Stealth Rock itself. this is besides the fact that it fails to 2HKO bulky Geoxern with Iron Head, and Substitute can lead to Jirachi getting screwed if it tries to Thunder Wave, not to mention the fact that Thunder/HP Fire/Focus Blast at +2 2HKOes it anyway. it also can't take Spout despite its investment, Yveltal and Ho-Oh make it sad (although neither appreciate status on the switch). It also loses to Rest Palkia one on one as it can't flinch with Iron Head unless it's EXTREMELY lucky. It's setup bait for several SD Arceus formes. thanks to rain no longer being permanent it can't wall certain Dragons (Palkia can Hydro Pump it in rain and Fire Blast it in sun). Did i mention that Mega Gengar traps it and gleefully Shadow Balls it to death, whilst Jirachi can't paralyze Gengar (taunt stops Thunder Wave, Gengar is immune to Body Slam). also, the Perish Trapper variant of Gengar makes Jirachi sad with Disable, Taunt etc.

The other issue is choosing between Thunder Wave and Body Slam. Thunder Wave is probably the better choice as you shouldn't be staying in to paralyze Ground Types anyway, but then you get Taunted and set up on/slaughtered. and if you do run Body Slam then GeoXern can set up Substitutes on you and play games with you too. also, if you don't run Toxic (and finding room for Toxic can be HARD), CM Arceus-Electric sets up in your face and drives a train over the rest of your team.

I'm not saying that Jirachi is unviable, i just feel that outside of checking Xerneas it doesn't really accomplish much and is easy prey for a large amount of the rest of the tier. I'm sure that someone with more experience than I with Jirachi (i only used it in about 20-25 matches today) can do a much better job than I can and give the Wishmaker the analysis it deserves.

P.S. don't use Scarf Jirachi/Band Jirachi/CM Jirachi/any kind of offensive Jirachi. They all really REALLY suck.

P.P.S. don't forget the loss of Dark and Ghost neutralities, it's huge for Jirachi this generation and pretty much nails it right where it hurts (why do you think Jirachi isn't even in OU by usage). I love the Steel/Psychic fairy but sadly it's a lot worse this generation :(

Does anyone care if I post the Scolipede skeleton as WIP even though Bliss is still 0/3. I mean Bliss doesn't look like it's going anywhere soon and feedback on the Scoli analysis would be helpful. I know I said I wouldn't post it, but it's not gonna get any better until it's on here.

canman98 can assure you that no one will mind if you post it.

Edit: I'm reserving Cloyster btw
