Your 2012 Highlights

i had a pretty great year bar some tragedies.

throughout the year i have been trying really hard to get more social with friends . i went on multiple hangouts with people who i havent really gotten the chance to do it with. i hosted my first party. i tried to expand my culinary borders by trying sushi for the first time.

also both my dogs died within a week of eachother

aside from turning 18, coming to terms with having asperger's was definitely my highlight for 2012. i've been diagnosed with it when i was 14, and since it's always been a source of shame more than anything, but now it's turned into a weird source of pride. self-acceptance is really the best thing that can happen. ^_~

great job on socialising, pernicious and rodan, i can definitely relate.

in october i finally started running again, 3 years and 8 months after being diagnosed with a chronic degenerative condition in my right knee and being told my running days were behind me. it hasn't been smooth sailing since but it's certainly my highlight of 2012 and probably the highlight of my entire life as I was convinced the day would never come. finishing college with the maximum achievable grades, getting a job out in my favouritest place on earth, and moving away from home at last were also pretty neat i guess!

2012 was a pretty big year

in march i left my home in ottawa, canada, and went on a pan-asian adventure; spent about a month in southeast asia visiting my family, flitting between singapore, malaysia, thailand, and bali. when family time was over i spent a couple weeks in seoul, a place i dearly miss, before finally arriving in tokyo, where i've lived for the past eight months.

through a combination of right place/right time and being completely and total gaybait, i managed to develop an incipient career in the tokyo fashion industry. now i do some modeling, some styling, some wardrobe consultation/personal shopping, and some fashion journalism. right now i'm trying to build a styling portfolio in hopes of getting picked up by my friend's agency out here, since that would entail a working visa and by extension a much longer stay in japan, because as it stands i'm forced to return home in may.

my new years eve and the events leading up to it have spurred me to finally reevaluate my expectations and interactions with other people (especially girls), and i'm hoping to really act on that this year.
