Your Biggest Failures in Videogames

Spent two years of my life trying to beat the Okumura Boss fight because I thought everyone saying switching the difficulty to Merciless were literal trolls... despite multiple sources all saying the same thing...
until I eventually read someone who said that elemental weakness damage is 3x on Merciless for all parties.
tried it on Merciless, beat it on two tries (because I was interrupted on my first attempt to go to my grandparents and dad stole the PS4) and was proven completely and utterly wrong.

Finding a shiny Nidoranin Pokémon silver before goldenrod city with only a few Poke balls.

first shiny i ever found as a kid was in silver as well, a krabby after a rock smash and i use a simple quick attack being only 5 levels higher thinking its a weak move (i forget the mon, it was awhile back) just remember it killing it and i was like "?!?!?!?!"

my personal one: that random optional battle in super mario rpg against Culex wiped me around more than i like to admit.

also every Kingdom Hearts kid the first X amount of times they faced Sephiroth, once that win is obtained thats a thing you hold in your heart forever especially if ya did it as a kid lol.

no. it is, in fact, a forum. It sometimes feels like a game, an endless battle for those precious react scores that people can throw away while you horde them all for yourself
But it's not a game, i'm not a robot AI challenging you
I'm not a phantom, I'm in your face and I'm here to see it through

I'm ashamed to admit that during an XY scramble playthrough I had to reset 3 times against Diantha. In my defense the team that was picked out for me had no compelling answers for Mega Gardevoir (Delphox, Malamar, Boldore*, Cryogonal, Reuniclus, Simisage)

*I actually was supposed to use Tyrantrum which would've been even more dire but I found a shiny Roggenrola in Reflection Cave

Even after the patch I still can't beat Ogre Oustin on hard

I finally did it!!

When I was 15 I played the original dark souls and couldn’t get past asylum demon

I just beat the hardest base game Elden Ring boss using only melee damage.

I should go back and play DS again

fun fact: the hardest part of the remorse fight is using all of angela's ego pages before the fight ends.

would have been good to know haha

Guess the game
> Trying to find a way to the psychic gym through the maze of a cave below it
> I see a pinkish Toxtricity
> First thought: Hmm. Kinda weird.
> Second thought: wait- SHINY, SHINY!!! FULL ODDS?!?!
> Ram into it as fast as possible
> Quick ball
> Didn't catch
> Use move
> OHKO
> Me: :row:
> Oh wait I can restart game and find it again cause of the save thing
> Restarts game
> Realize I didn't save right before, but about ~2 minutes before
> Search everywhere just in case, no dice
> Regrets

probably library of ruina because of the dice thing. FODB is a pretty tough fight if you're unprepared ngl

This has to count: I got locked out of my Nintendo account email (college one, we were told it was for a lifetime: it wasn't) and can't remember the password. Their customer support is so shitty here they don't even have a working telephone number, and they never actually replied to my emails, just sending bot messages.

I'm still logged on it on multiple browsers on my phone, which is even the only device connected to it ever as I can check. I just can't buy anything with it. This also means when my Online subscription ends next year, I will be locked out of everything I have been playing for the 4 years I have had own my Switch, Pokemon included.

It doesn't get more pathetic than this and it *is* my fault, but it's hard to not be mad at them when the issue could be resolved so fucking easily if they just let me talk to a real human. But well as we know, Nintendo is such a small company it can't get to operate on Europe.

Also: I'm a Layton and rabbit lover but I can't complete Miracle Mask without a guide. It isn't difficult, just the most boring thing on Earth, and it's not even my first playthrough. I would say it's a stain on the franchise but LMJ also exists...
