Media Yu-Gi-Oh discussion

agents are probably going to be better than LS tbh as they actually have consistency in their engine. tour guide -> sangan -> effect veiler/agent earth is a disgusting +2 from the get-go not to mention you have 3 more cards to allow you get earth while at the same time making BLS live.

its more the fact that if you open tour guide + gold sarc you can end with gachi gachi, a 2900 stardust and a 2200 leviair with 4 cards in hand

its pretty unreasonable

wait so it's tour guide into sangan, xyz for leviair, sarc for venus, dump sangan, bring venus back, get triple shine ball, make gachi gachi

where does stardust come in? i'm probably missing something really obvious

which tuner do you search for with sangan

i mean i guess teched birdman would get the job done but idk

OK this is going to sound like a noobish question buts what is the best way to get back into RL yugioh. I really want to get back into the game but i don't know where to start. I am also on a tight budget so if you could provide me with some suggestions for good sets to get. Thanks!

i guess if you want a relatively inexpensive deck, the best way to go would be hero beat or gravekeepers

in terms of skill level just read the latest blogs on recent tournaments. tcgplayer and pojo both have some good bloggers that can help you improve your game. youtube videos help a lot too.

practice on DN

for the budget i'd again recommend hero beat because it's a very powerful deck that's also quite inexpensive for the most part, with dualities being the most frustrating part of the deck to obtain. fusion heroes will be strong in the future though and you can get away with not running 3 duality in there.

yeah its birdman

tour guide for sangan, gold sarc for venus, detatch sangan to ss venus, search birdman, ss triple shine ball, bounce shine ball for birdman, ss shine ball again, sync birdman venus shine ball for stardust, xyz two shine balls for gachi. it puts a tremendous amount of damage on board (with the birdman coming back next turn through leviair you have 7900) in addition to having exactly 4 fairies in grave once gachi loses its shine balls.

you can also do a t1 kristya with that opening by, with venus + 3 shine + leviair on field, bouncing a shine ball for birdman, syncing birdman and venus for brio, pitching in hand shine ball to bounce shine ball, pitching that to bounce third shine ball, setting a card and pitching third shine ball to bounce that, giving you exactly 4 fairies in grave. i cant think of why youd want to do that unless a deck that absolutely cannot handle t1 kristya becomes prominent, but its a cool gimmick nonetheless.

tour guide is the best card in the game

another thing to note in certain situations is that instead of gantetsu you can go for daigusto phoenix since stardust is wind, it's situational though.

how many birdman and sarc would you run?

i dont meant to be a downer, but now that DN exists, and unless youre gonna be going to a lot of premiere events, its better you dont get into irl yugioh. its expensive as fuck, prize support isnt great, and players can get really irritating.

right now almost all decks require tour guide from the underworld. she has a price tag reaching 180 dollars. its not really worth it. im just lucky i picked up 8 at 40 before the price increase, otherwise id probably stop playing irl. =/

Dualities will be pretty easy to obtain with the Collector Tins (Wave 1). The promo versions are up for 12 dollars iirc.

its hilarious because as soon as we get cheap dualities in comes $180 tour guides which are arguably more splashable/powerful than duality

tour guides i rather just buy the box they come in then spend 180.
well first off there's not a 100% chance that you'll pull any secret rares when you open a box

second of all tour guide is only 1 of 8 secret rares in extreme victory

in addition it's the only valuable secret in the set

the cheapest i'm seeing the extreme victory box set go for is $60.

anyway i've been working on chaos fairies as suggested before and here's a tentative decklist:

Monsters: 23
[1]Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning
[2]Archlord Kristya
[2]Master Hyperion
[3]The Agent of Mystery - Earth
[3]The Agent of Creation - Venus
[3]Mystical Shine Ball
[2]Herald of Orange Light
[1]Honest
[3]Tour Guide from the Underworld
[2]Genex Ally Birdman
[1]Sangan

Spells: 11
[3]Pot of Duality
[3]Mystical Space Typhoon
[2]Gold Sarcophagus
[1]Monster Reborn
[1]Dark Hole
[1]Heavy Storm

Traps: 6
[2]Solemn Warning
[1]Solemn Judgment
[1]Torrential Tribute
[1]Call of the Haunted
[1]Starlight Road

Extra: 15
[1]Trishula, Dragon of the Ice Barrier
[1]Scrap Dragon
[1]Stardust Dragon
[1]Black Rose Dragon
[1]Genex Ally Triforce
[1]Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier
[1]Gaia Knight, the Force of Earth
[1]Ally of Justice Catastor
[1]Armory Arm
[2]Leviair, the Sea Dragon
[1]Number 17: Leviathan Dragon
[2]Gachi Gachi Gantetsu
[1]Daigusto Phoenix

thoughts:
-Replace BLS for Chaos Sorcerer, as crazy as it sounds, because Birdman+C-Sorc makes Locomotion R-Genex which is an amazing card.
-Effect Veiler? Idk, is Orange Light enough?
-Jupiter? Free 2600 searchable beater.
-DAD? Probably not consistent enough.
-Trap Dustshoot
-BTH
-Cards from the Sky (I don't run any ATM because I'm scared of the inconsistency it may cause.
-Burial from a D. D.?
-More Hyperion?
-Less Kristya?

I bought a pack of Extreme Victory today and I did it...I pulled the prize card of the set!

Side note: is my green gadget avatar totally boss or what?

I hate Tradetoad.
It's like
"Hey guys sorry we got rid of Substitoad
BUT!
Here's a replacement!
This'll work yeah? Like it's... kinda the same? Maybe? Right?
It...it even looks similar!
Is this cool for you?"
No Konami this is not cool I miss Substitoad. :(

ive never had the same luck as you. last time i bought boxes was of DREV. i bought 5 and pulled 0 PoD and 1 Warning. :( i ended up buying singles in the end.

lol, yeah, I've never had much luck in ygo pack pulling either. I think the best thing I've ever pulled was an Ultra rare Ceasefire back in the day...

and a super rare Different Dimension Dragon! But just cause the card art looks sweet!

I haven't bought a box in AGES. The last time was Hidden Arsenal 1, which had 1 of every prize synchro and then 1 extra. My friends who bought the box always pulled 2 Brionac or 2 Catastor, and I was the only one to get boned into pulling double Mist Wurm, the cheapest of the lot ;_;

I have great luck for Pokemon boosters, but I suck at YGO booster opening. Best thing I ever got was an Ultimate Rare Earthbound Immortal (the Insect one). I just buy singles.

I have pretty stupid luck with pulling. I stopped buying cards like 4 years ago, maybe more, but some friends and I still buy like a pack every summer just for that thrill of seeing what we'll get, and who will get the best. My last four pulls were a Ultra rare elemental hero fusion (don't remember wish), Ultra rare Dark Horus, Ultimate Rare Zombie Master, Ultimate rare Earthbound immortal (the flying one, I think). So yeah stupid lucky on getting high rarity.
