[OVERVIEW]
Zoroark's unique ability in Illusion allows it to potentially catch its checks and counters off guard. With Choice Scarf equipped, it's able to outspeed fast Pokemon like Starmie, Salazzle, and Choice Scarf Rotom-C, and, without Choice Scarf, it still outspeeds Pokemon like Flygon and Celebi. Zoroark is also very versatile; it can go physical and make great use of its utility movepool, or it can run a Nasty Plot set to take advantage of its high Special Attack and decent coverage moves. Unfortunately, Illusion can reveal Zoroark to the opponent via chip damage taken, such as through entry hazards if it's not running Heavy-Duty Boots. Zoroark is also vulnerable to many foes due to its poor bulk, like Fairy- and Fighting-types like Sylveon and Machamp, First Impression Pokemon like Sirfetch'd and Flygon, and faster Pokemon like Ninjask and Choice Scarf Passimian. Other fast Pokemon like Aerodactyl and Tauros can threaten it without its Choice Scarf.

Trick is useful for crippling defensive Pokemon like Sylveon, Vaporeon, and Diancie. Sucker Punch lets Zoroark still revenge kill faster threats like Choice Scarf Flygon, Salazzle, and Tauros after it has used Trick. U-turn gives momentum, and it's needed to pivot out of Fairy- and Fighting-type threats like Silvally-Fairy and Machamp. Using Choice Scarf allows Zoroark to surprise KO faster Pokemon like Choice Scarf Rotom-C and Flygon.
Psychic-, Fairy-, and Poison-types like Xatu, Sylveon, and Weezing are appreciated as teammates to take hits from Fighting-types like Sirfetch'd and Passimian. Pokemon like Copperajah, Mudsdale, and Tyrantrum can help Zoroark deal with faster foes like Ninjask and, once Zoroark loses its Choice Scarf, Talonflame. Zoroark can disguise as teammates that are weak to Psychic-type attacks like Dragalge, Sirfetch'd, and Machamp to bait and get rid of Pokemon like Starmie and Celebi. Fire-, Ground-, and Fighting-types such as Talonflame, Flygon, and Passimian can take care of Steel-types like Copperajah and Escavalier.

Flamethrower is used to hit Dark- and Fighting-types that resist Dark Pulse like Drapion and Machamp and 2HKO Copperajah. Sludge Bomb 2HKOes Fairy-types like Sylveon and Comfey and is Zoroark's best form of damage against Diancie. Heavy-Duty Boots is optimal so entry hazards don't negate Illusion, but Life Orb can be used for the extra power, with Zoroark potentially 3HKOing Sylveon with unboosted Sludge Bomb and 2HKOing defensive Flygon.
Support teammates like Aerodactyl and Xatu are appreciated on hyper offensive teams. Aerodactyl sets Stealth Rock to make it easier for Zoroark to KO Pokemon, and Xatu set dual screens to give Zoroark safer opportunities to set up Nasty Plot and sweep. Zoroark should be used alongside Pokemon that can effectively take Fighting-type attacks such as Mudsdale, Sylveon, and Vileplume as well as Fairy-type attacks like Copperajah, Escavalier, and Salazzle. Poison- and Fighting-types like Dragalge and Sirfetch'd let Zoroark play mind games on Psychic-types like Xatu and Celebi with Illusion.

Other Options
====
Zoroark can use a Swords Dance set with Heavy-Duty Boots, but it lacks the coverage to break through Fairy- and Fighting-types like Sylveon and Machamp.
Checks and Counters
====
**Fairy-types**: Fairy-types like Sylveon, Comfey, and Diancie can OHKO Zoroark with their respective STAB attacks. Diancie can notably survive against all Zoroark variants and KO it with Body Press and Moonblast.
**Revenge Killers**: Faster offensive Pokemon like Ninjask and Choice Scarf Passimian outpace Nasty Plot Zoroark and easily OHKO it, and neither is threatened by Choice Scarf variants. Additionally, First Impression Sirfetch'd can easily revenge kill Zoroark.
**Bulky Pokemon**: Pokemon like Goodra and Guzzlord are extremely bulky, letting them tank Zoroark's attacks. Drapion and Guzzlord resist Zoroark's STAB moves, making them harder to revenge kill.
