To any interested party,

If you want two bald guys who know SM and BW ZU business and who like to spend some time testing with each other and remembering the good old times, buy btboy and me together. I am going to bench, but I am a good bench, solid and rustic, not rusty (well, I guess a bit too).

Regards,

As the host of this tour, I'd like to provide all of the managers an equal opportunity to hear from the best SV ZU player (me) regarding the players available. Please see the definitive list below of who's who in the SV playerbase.

SV1/SV2:
5Dots - Assuming they play SV, would be a top player in the pool.
asa - Legit SV1 caliber player; I know they haven't kept up with ZU since ZUPL most likely, but they are a tremendous builder and player and will shore up the SV1 slot for some lucky team.
big tony 2014 - Interesting SV2 kind of player, has a lot of upside and is somebody I would bank on putting up a solid season as a builder and player.
BloodAce - SV1 caliber builder and player, if they're allowed to get away from old gens that is...
Danny - Reigning Circuit Winner who, despite not touching ZU since at least ZUPL certainly, would be a top presence in the pool.
feen - Haha funny ZUPL season go brr. Realistically, I doubt he gets involved much in the builder, but if provided good teams should be able to click better than a majority of this pool. SV2 kind of player.
Fragments - Good UM player, made a good run in UM Circuit and is like feen in that you should be able to trust them to pilot stuff well. SV2.
LettuceLeaf07 - Solid builder and player, would think they slot into SV2 easily enough.
sinnabyss - They're a borderline SV2/sub candidate for me, good enough to win games certainly.
Sputnik - I believe they want to play a different tier, but they are a capable builder and player in SV and I'd trust them to start.
THE_CHUNGLER - Legit SV1 player who also has invested themselves in old gens, may be a top player overall in this pool.
TomatoZause - SV1 caliber player if they don't do old gens.

SV2/Subs:
Don Bork - Solid player who is worth a late addition to a team as a sub candidate.
Fluore - Solid UM player, fairly easy sub candidate.
Heatranator - If you've browsed smogon.com you're familiar with this user; draft them but please check their pastes, they get a bit too saucy at times but are active and helpful.
Lizardu - Would probably qualify as a starter based on what I've seen from them in the past, but not sure how much they've kept up with ZU at this time.
missangelic - Actual CNC GOAT and somebody who should never, ever go undrafted for any reasons. Would probably sub into any tier for what it's worth, but they can be a great helper in the ZU core.
Seed Sower - I am a fan of Seed generally, good mons fundamentals and will be a good member of a team. Could probably sub in and squeeze out a win if needed.
SMHorizon - Solid builder, would be a great bench candidate to help provide teams. Similar to Heatranator though, would need to reel them in to make actually solid-fundamental teams as they get a bit saucy too, but both are good.
zastra - NFE player, seems solid enough and should translate into ZU seamlessly.

Don't ever, ever let this person play SV ZU:
Toto

My Personal GSC ZU Player Rankings:
Zpice is back once again to greet to you my certified ball knowledge once again with GSC ZU. I personally think GSC ZU is one of the most interesting tiers to rank players because it is genuinely anyone's game in terms of performance. That being said, I'm going to do my best on ranking who I think would be the my personal top 10 candidates who will perform best for your team!

1) BeeOrSomething - BeeOrSomething in the past year had the 2nd best record in the previous ZU Olympiad and has won the GSC ZU section of the Grand Slam Tournament (old meta). Bee is also a generally strong GSC player with strong metagame knowledge, so expect him to perform well this upcoming tournament.

2) Aurist - Aurist is an incredibly talented GSC Lower Tiers player who will likely set the tournament alight. Has previous experience within the new GSC ZU metagame, and will look to provide great value for those who require a dedicated GSC spot! The only question marks you could ask about Aurist come down to consistency, but Aurist isn't one to back down from any challenge, and I reckon they will perform incredibly well this tour!

3) BloodAce - BA is a generally strong ZU main and GSC player. Furthermore, BloodAce not only had the best record in the previous ZU Olympiad (old meta), and he has the specific metagame knowledge that will provide the team with crucial wins throughout the tour. What's stopping BloodAce from appearing higher comes down to the slightly limited regular season times only being able to feature in three regular season weeks. If you're able to work around that, then you should be set for a strong GSC slot for your team!

4) Alice Kazumi - I would consider Alice Kazumi my pick to cause a lot of surprises throughout this tour. Winner of the Spotlight tour and all round strong player, her dedication is unmatched, and if you're looking for a slightly cheaper end ZU player, then Alice will be a valuable pickup! (I did unfortunately lie about what I said regarding the previous ranking post, but BloodAce wasn't considered in the rankings due to not being signed up at that time, so excuse me on that one LOL)

5) LustfulLice - Placements 5 through 7 are some of the most difficult to rank because all three are equally good as GSC players but all three have their own drawbacks to them. Starting off with LustfulLice, I'd probably say Lice has an incredibly high skill ceiling for this tour, with luck potentially being the difference between being eliminated from the semis of GSC Open for ZU Classic and being the winner of the tour. I think Lice can perform in the right circumstances, but I've opted for 5 as I reckon the players above are either going to be more dedicated towards this tour or to what I believe to have slightly higher skill ceilings.

6) SANKE CARP - SANKE CARP was the runner up of the GSC Grand Slam tour and had proved to be a quality GSC ZU player after the unfortunate record during previous Olympiad (both old meta). SANKE CARP will look to seek vengence for ZUOL II as he is a very capable player. We shall await and see how he performs because SANKE CARP is one of the most interesting players to look out for this tour.

7) Gallinova - This is what I would consider the "dark horse" of this tournament. Gallinova is a generally skilled GSC and overall player alike. If you can provide Gallinova with support, then I fancy his chances of performing well for a cheap option.

8) TorkonPeter - Torkon is a very exciting player when it comes these ancient lower tiers, and this certainly applies here. You are likely going to swoop TorkonPeter for his capable RBY skills, but he is also a very capable GSC ZU player, with a strong foundation of knowledge and skill to craft out wins in the right circumstances. Teams that are looking to draft BloodAce won't go wrong with drafting TorkonPeter alongside as a strong secondary GSC option and primary RBY option, just be aware if you're looking for exclusively GSC then he might be more expensive than some of the others ahead of him on this list.

9) THE_CHUNGLER - It is difficult to rank THE_CHUNGLER in this tier. Much like with his ADV performances, his habits of falling short in finals apply here, being the runner up of the most recent GSC Open tour. Nonetheless, THE_CHUNGLER will be an excellent support option for teams as he has experience within this tier, as well as other tiers if you wish to draft him for ADV and SV.

10) DiannieRatson - Rounding out the top 10 with a somewhat recent inclusion to the draft, DiannieRatson is looking to return on their third Olympiad inclusion as a GSC ZU veteran. Does the big cat still got some tricks up their sleeve? I reckon DiannieRatson has what it takes if you're looking for a cheap, reliable GSC lower tiers player.

Quick HMs to Beatsblack and TBIC106. Beats is better in other spots but will do GSC ZU some justice whereas TBIC is simply the greatest cheerleader of all time.

Appreciate everyone for reading these posts, and can someone fix the Zspice error on the ZU Olympiad II sheet LOL. Much love lads, and I'll see you guys post-draft!

As ORAS's strongest soldier I'd like to present some depth rankings on the ORAS pool of the tier. While a lot of managers have voiced desire to play in other tiers, there is a great deal of chances at least some of them will be playing here anyways.

Top starting threats (managers):
OranBerryBlissey10 - Part of the ORAS council. Brings some of the scariest builds in the tier and boasts several years' worth of experience across not only ZU, but also in NU. With BaitWiz for building, we can expect to see excellent teambuilding synergy and support in this slot. I predict the Venomoths will be one of the strongest ORAS cores to look at.
5gen - A longtime member of the ORAS member and builds a lot of dynamic corebreaking teams that can decimate even well-prepared teams. Also a force to be reckoned with in SM and SS, 5gen has some of the most experience I've seen in the tier. With rising star estra bringing in teambuilding support, I also believe that the Pay Day Persians will also be favorites for ORAS.
a fruitshop owner - One of the GOATs of this gen. While fish is more specialized in SS, he can still build for ORAS, and a lot of the meta can be attributed from his experience in PLs and cups alike. The Probopasses will be notable threats in the ORAS slot.
Toto - Is a great all-around player and will definitely not steal teams and beat you with them have an excellent ceiling to take on players of the caliber. Having sleid's methodical teams will make for a scary ORAS core that can potentially allow them to have the strongest ORAS slot.

High starting threats (managers):
BaitWiz - Has been playing ORAS over the past year and produced some solid results. Will have excellent teambuilding support with OBB, and while not as renowned, he also boasts notable results across various ZU tiers that will blow away unprepared players.
SBPC - Former council and while has been focusing on other tours, he will be a solid threat to consider if he decides to play in the tier again.
estra - Has picked up the tier recently and has been producing some high-quality teams that can challenge starting threats.

Top Starting threats (pool):
5Dots - .....
Yovan - Builds some of the craziest and creative builds I've seen that can be massively rewarding, and has excellent results in other tiers too. Will probably play for SM, but can be a great asset for managers still looking for an ORAS slot mid-draft.
Zcarlett - Has produced high-quality teams and will be a great asset to help round out teams in need of a ORAS builder.
Zpice - Has helped a lot with building and is very well-versed in old gens and the current gen. Definitely pick him up to fill in teambuilding gaps.

Notable Starting threats (pool):
asa - will likely play SV but can be a great pilot for teams in need of a top player to fill in the slot.
Danny - see asa.
DiannieRatson - Will probably take the GSC slot, but can work out to round a squad. Will need teams and tests.
feen - see Danny.
Fluore - Notable UM player that can round out a squad, but will need teams and some tests to get them up to speed on the meta.
neomon - old-school player who can similarly fill out a team in need of a slot, but will definitely need tests and some teams to help round a team out.
Remedy4brokenh3art - if needed, can round out the slot and has some good experience in other ZU tiers. Great backup slot if managers do not want to start in this tier.

Most enjoyable names to pick in the pool:
MethMaster4546 - if you need someone to cook (not teams or food), you have the best player in the pool. A literal steal!
Wugtrioenjoyer23 - If you want someone who will give you eulogies about one of SV ZU's earliest revenge killers, look no further into #23!
True Psycho - If you want who will bring true, menacing aura, pick the true psycho.
Ryu - They say he's a street legend, a real fighter...martial arts with skills unparalleled...

Appreciate everyone for reading these posts and I'll see you all during the draft!

Similarly to BP's ADV post, here is my RBY post. I still wish I could start a couple weeks in RBY, but given the state of the SV pool, I understand my chances at playing RBY ZU are low. With this in mind, I'd like the right people to start in RBY.

Maris Bonibell
I don't think this needs any explanation. They won RBY ZU Cup and are just one of the best RBY lower tiers player; they should be your default option for RBY. I'd expect around 4 wins from them in regular season.

torkonpeter
torkon was crucial support to BLAZE's RBY success last year, and is very passionated about the tier. They seem to get a good pilot as well, and should be self sufficient. I'd expect around 3 wins from them in regular season.

NotVeryCake
Cake played RBY ZU last year with a decent record, and while they didn't have a great showing at RBY ZU Cup (they had to face the mighty Tuthur and his RNG abuse capacities round 1), there is no doubt confidence should be quite high for them. I'd expect around 3 wins from them in regular season.

SaDiSTiCNarwhal
In a vaccum, I believe Narwhal is the player with the highest ceiling there. However, I've some question marks about his ability to prepare in the tier without torkonpeter, especially since it looks nothing alike last year and Narwhal is more known for OU and Ubers which play quite differently from ZU. I'd expect around 2 wins from them in regular season.

YBW
YBW has no notable showings in RBY ZU as far as I can tell. However they are a known good RBY player who doesn't limit themselves to OU. I'd expect about 2 wins from them in regular season.

PKMN Master™
Shane was goat support in our RBY teamchat and is very passionated about competing in RBY. I don't think they have any notable tournament achievement, but there is noone on the remaining pool that I believe should ever start over them. They'll get the work done and will remain motivate for the whole tournament. I'd expect about 2 wins from them in regular season.
it's true, I'm hard carried by torkonpeter

Week 5 is around the corner. With missangelic's win in BW, the Persians have clinched the first playoff spot. LustfulLice's GSC win and my win in ORAS means the Venomoths and Probopasses have been eliminated from playoff contention. Here's the scenarios for all remaining teams to get in/clinch a playoff berth:

:sv/persian: Pay Day Persians :sv/persian:
Veteran 5gen and rising star estra have taken a commanding start for the first three weeks. Despite being down 2-5 this week, the remaining team members in miss, Plague, and Michael Jordan initiated an impressive comeback to secure the current #1 seed with 7 points. Even if they lose all their remaining games, the worst they can finish is 2nd when considering Ivy Gang having 5 points and the Musharnas and Simis having 4 points. To clinch the #1 seed, they will need to either tie or beat the Simis.

:sv/Ivysaur: Ivy Gang :sv/ivysaur:
sleid and Toto have established their proficiency across the board with a strong roster and find themselves at a relatively comfortable #2 seed. An intense GSC game from Lice gives them perhaps the most range of placements they can finish in. A win against the Musharnas and the Persians losing will allow them to snatch the bye week away from them. Plausibly, the Persians tying and Ivy Gang winning at least seven of their games will net the same result, but a tiebreaker can happen if Persians tie and Ivy wins six games. To clinch a playoff spot, they will need at least a tie against the Musharnas. However, they must be careful of losing the week: if they lose and Simis win the week, they can find themselves shockingly eliminated from the playoffs.

:sv/Musharna: Moonshine Musharnas :sv/musharna:
diego's dominance in SS plays a big part in their role for the fight on the #3 seed. Alongside the Simis, they are fighting tooth and nail against the Ivy Gang to secure a playoff spot. It is no longer possible for them to get the #1 seed, but a win will still allow themselves to seal the final playoff spot. A tie for them, however, can complicate things: if the Simis end up winning, they will be knocked out of playoff contention entirely; if the Simis tie, a tiebreaker will ensue due to sharing the same differentials; the Simis losing will give them a playoff spot.

:sv/Simipour: Spectacular Simis :sv/Simisear:
The managing and hard efforts from veterans SBPC and SPHZ have allowed them to rally back for the fight on the #3 seed. Alongside the Musharnas, they are fighting tooth and nail against the Persians to secure a playoff spot. It is no longer possible for them to get the #1 seed, but a win will still allow themselves to seal the final playoff spot. A win will award a playoff berth, though a tie will make things more contentious: if the Musharnas win, the Semis will be eliminated from the playoff thanks to Ivy Gang having a stronger differential. If the Musharnas tie, a tiebreaker will ensue, and a Musharna loss will give them a playoff berth.

As for the Probopasses and Venomoths, while they have been eliminated, they can still compete for the fifth spot. The Venomoths only need to tie or the win the week to clinch fifth place. The Probopasses need to win in order to do so.

Looking forward to good games in Week 5!
