Apprentice Program - Round Fourty Seven

Welcome to Round 47 (and hopefully the final "round" if this system proves efficient!) of the newly re-redesigned Battling 101 Program!

Here is how the program will work:

• There are X tutors available
• When this thread is posted, and people start signing up, the tutors will be assigned to the first people on the list who have matching availabilities (at least two hours of overlap)
• The rest of the people (# of posters - X) will start filling the queue.
• When a tutor finishes tutoring his/her tutee, or the tutee becomes inactive, the tutor moves on and will be assigned the next tutee who matches their availability
• If the queue is too full, signups will be closed for a short amount of time.
• If you don't want to get tutored anymore, feel free to delete your post. If a tutor sees that you have not been online in over five days, you'll be skipped.
• Note: Tutors should not teach their student for more than three weeks.

Tutees are required to send in evaluations. These are vital in judging how the tutors do.

Tell us a little about yourself: I am a 15 year old male who lives in Wales. Seen by a lot of my friends as intelligent and a quick learner, I am always one who likes to try my best to improve. Tell us a little about yourself: I'm in high school, and I've always loved Pokemon. I never learned about competitive battling until last year, and I've learned the basic basics. IV's, EV's, and common types of Pokemon. The problems I have are creating a team on my own, with its own strategy, with its own advantages, etc. I'm lacking originality, enough to create a team to face others on Shoddy, instead of copying a team from the RMT's to "train." I think that idea is ridiculous (my opinion) so I'm trying this program hoping to become a lot better at competitive battling.

I've been playing the D/P/PT series ever since and I've gotten addicted to the game. Tell us a little about yourself: Im relatively new here as I only got into competitive battling at the end of last summer. Since then, I've worked very hard in the OU tier, and learned some Ubers along the way. I consider myself quite proficient in in-game tactics. I can play very well with a team disadvantage, and I am very good with prediction. My main style is offense as stall is for the weak. The most help I need is in team building in UU, because I really don't know what normal players use in the metagame. I have no idea what is good and what isn't so I cant make my own sets which is something I love to do and gives me the edge.

I consider myself to be a decent battler, and have reached the leader board a few times in each tier but I still feel like I have a long way to go. About me personally, I'm a runner. I run track(longer distances) and cross country. I'm going to be getting my restricted in the next few weeks, and hopefully a car so that's pretty exciting.

My favourite playstyle is Semi-stall or occasionally bulky offense- high-powered offense just doesn't appeal to me. OU is my favourite tier because there's always people on it and because stall works best in OU. My CRE hasn't been all that good, never going above about 1250 most of the time. I would also like some help trying to create custom movesets that are not gimmicks. As for other info, I'm just a person who likes video games, particually RPG's, platformers, and RTS. One other thing, if I somehow get in early, I won't be able to get on during some week in March because of a competition I am in. Phew

Tell us a little about yourself: I've been playing Pokemon for a while, my first game was Gold. However, I didn't learn about competitive Pokemon until a bit after Platinum came out, so I'm not completely new, but I'm not exactly a veteran. I've been really interested in UU, I even made the voting cut, as seen by my check mark. While UU is my favorite, I actually battle evenly between OU and UU, so I'm not only into UU.

My worst problem in terms of competitive battling is team building and prediction. Sometimes I predict fine, but my team has awful synergy. Sometimes my team has great synergy, but I make way too many mispredictions.

In terms of availability, what I said in that section applies to all days except Wednesdays and weekends. On Wednesdays, it's only at night, and on weekends, it's pretty much the whole day.

Tell us a little about yourself: I'm a sophomore in college majoring in Biology. I've been around this site for a while now, doing various things (WiFi, VGC, C&C, etc). I like to mix it up a lot, and am always looking to try new things. I've had my fair share of competitive success, but I'm entering this because I want to take my team building ability to the next level and learn a new tier in the process. Basically every team I make is "good not great" (~75% win, ~1550 CRE, that kinda thing), and I feel like I'm close to "getting over the hump", but I think I'm in need of a little guidance to reach that point. I think becoming a better team builder will allow me to learn new tiers more easily, use unique Pokemon and team archetypes more effectively, and just enjoy Pokemon more all around. I've been playing UU for the last six months or so and would like to get to know a new metagame, although in the past I've played a lot of OU as well.

I'm normally available at night (Pacific time) on weekdays, but my schedule is pretty busy. I can always set up times for earlier, as well.
