Golden Sun Mafia Postgame

Alright this game was really fun to host for both askaninjask and I. I really wanted to run a mafia on this game, but knowing how bad closed themes can be, I decided to leave some of my favorite characters out (Kraden...) for false claims while using outside characters. Not one faction played particularly poorly in this game (some just got a bit unlucky) and iirc the village was lucky with never lynching a villager throughout the entire game. I really thought Yoshi King had the game up until the very end when Weyard pulled through!

Weyard

reachzero (died night 1)
Dear reachzero,

You are Sunshine.

As the master blacksmith of the small town of Yallam, you know much about many types of weapons and armor. So much so, that your knowledge is coveted by travelers from all continents.

At night, you may PM asim and askaninjask “Night x – reforge <item>.” The name of the item you use must be one currently in your possession. Reforging this item will create an exact replica for later use. However, you can only make one copy of any item in the game, and you know there are some items that cannot be duplicated.

In addition, you can also make use of your incredible knowledge of different items. For this reason, any time you hold an item in your possession, you will know all of its unknown powers.

You are allied with Weyard.
My favorite village role in the game had to die so early... Anyway, reach played pretty well for only being in one night, and at least he tried to bring the village together early in the game. This role was the only one that would know the true abilities of a few items (like the Trident or the 9th Wonders! Comic).
5/10

Mattimeo (died night 2)
Dear Mattimeo,

You are Chibi-Robo.

You are the miniscule housekeeping robot that cleans stains with a toothbrush and shoots things with an arm laser, just to get Happy Points. Pretty badass right?

At night, you may PM asim and askaninjask “Night x – clean <user>’s house.” You will stay in <user>’s house that night and follow him or her out if necessary. This will allow you to see who <user> visited that night. If <user> does not leave his or her house, you will stay there and see any other players who targeted <user> that night.

You are allied with Weyard.
Poor Mattimeo had a fun role (my false claim from Arcade Mafia pretty much). Too bad he was hooked and then killed. What is this, c5?
:(/10

Crunchatize Me (died night 3)
Dear Crunchatize Me,

You are Sufjan Stevens.

You are the contemporary folk musician and composer who is best known for his fifty states album project. You also went to the same college as user asim and he thinks that is pretty cool!

At night, you may PM asim and askaninjask “Night x – play song for <user>.” That <user> will be preoccupied with your beautiful music and good looks and will fail to perform any abilities that night. You cannot perform for the same <user> on consecutive nights, because everyone needs to enjoy you, right?

You also hold the Guitar. Whilst holding this item, you may hide any other items you have inside. Because of this, you will be completely unaffected by any thief-type roles.

You are allied with Weyard.
Hooked Mattimeo night 1, who would have seen quite a few people targeting reachzero. He then public claimed which confused us but other than that he didn't play especially poorly. The Guitar was also a really useful item with all the thieves running around, although it didn't get much use since most of the thieves in this game died really early.

KnightoftheWind (suicided day 3)
Dear KnightoftheWind,

You are Hama.

You are a powerful Wind Adept who has hidden her abilities from others for many years, living in the town of Lama Temple. You are also secretly the older sister of Ivan.

You have no night ability, however, you have much influence in the world. For this reason, if you ever die, the next night will have no deaths, because the world will be observing your funeral.

You know the identity of your younger brother Ivan, who is polelover44. However, he does not know of you. Use this information however you please.

You also hold the Shaman Rod. Whilst holding this item, you are immune from all night kills. This item disappears after thwarting one kill attempt.

You are allied with Weyard.
Made the smart decision to godkill himself. Sorry for giving you such a terrible role. I at least tried to balance it by giving some information and a decent item. The Shaman Rod would have been very helpful if gotten to Sunshine early in the game. Two BPVs for the village leader or bodyguard would have been broken.
6/10

Raverist (died night 4)
Dear Raverist,

You are Crazy Dave.

After thwarting hordes of zombies with your menacing Pea Shooter plants and other similar weapons, you decided you needed a break and moved to Weyard, where you are famous all around the lands for your exploits as the strange neighbor.

Since you are so well known for being a powerful, influential man, any vote you make in the day thread will count double.

You also hold the Marigold. Whilst holding this item all other users will marvel at its beauty, but only at the daytime when it can be seen. For this reason, it will distract everyone else from whatever you are doing in the day, causing you to have a negative vote instead of a positive one.

You are allied with Weyard.
Sigh. There isn't much to say. Raverist false claimed to to RB Golbat and Yoshi King, claiming negative voter when he was mayor. He provided a clearly false role PM and RBG realized Raverist was lying when his negative vote item was stolen. He was the first person marked as 100% evil on the village spreadsheet. I don't think there's much to be said...

Team Aether (died night 5)
Dear Team Aether,

You are Chocolate Boy.

As the extremely hyper sugar-obsessed boy of P.S. 118, most of the kids around do not take you seriously or even notice you. Well now in Weyard you are going to make yourself useful in the war (while keeping track of your precious chocolate of course).

At night you may PM asim and askaninjask “Night x – guard <user>’s chocolate.” That night you will protect <user> from any thieves attempting to steal his or her “chocolate” and other items.

You also hold the Chocolate. This item is delicious and you must not lose it. You can only win if you hold the chocolate at the end of the game (no matter what faction survives) or if you are killed or lynched while holding the chocolate.

You are allied with Weyard.
He certainly didn't play poorly. He claimed to RBG even though at first they thought there was no way they could both win. Yoshi King got GoldenKnight to kill him against RBG's orders. Since he died with the chocolate, he won anyway. I really tried to make two village roles with contradictory win conditions. The wording was bad though, and it wasn't really thought out well, so I just let both RBG and Team Aether win.
6/10

billymills (died night 5)
Dear billymills,

You are Doctor Heartbreak.

You are the witty and philosophical Smogon poster who is always shrouded in mystery. Although you post infrequently, you are well known for your two sides of funny quips and in-depth explanations or descriptions.

At night you may PM asim and askaninjask “Night x – asking <why>?” where <why> must be any yes or no question which does not include any Smogon names or role names. The next day, the question you asked will be posted in the day thread for all to see, but only you will receive the true answer.

You also hold the Black Orb. Whilst holding this item you may not make any posts in the day thread.

You are allied with Weyard.
I loved this role and billymills played excellently. He asked incredibly useful questions that led to the lynching of Flamestrike and imperfectluck. He also used his role to check for the numbers of the mafia at two points in the game.
8/10

RB Golbat (died night 5)
Dear RB Golbat,

You are Kevin.

Although you are an enormous, colorful, ostrich-like bird, you happen to be very sneaky. You are also terribly obsessed with chocolate and your only goal in this war is to find some (while helping out the rest of Weyard of course).

At night you may PM asim and askaninjask “Night x – checking <user> for chocolate.” That night you will sneak up on <user> and look at all the items he or she is holding. If he or she has any chocolate you will immediately devour it, otherwise you will leave his or her items there.

You are starving, so you must devour some chocolate before the game ends to win. You can only win if you devour this chocolate before one faction eliminates all others (no matter what faction it is).

In addition, as you are a giant bird, all your posts must contain some kind of squawking noise or you will exhaust yourself with human speech and fail from using your ability the following night.

You are allied with Weyard.
RBG led the village to their eventual win. He was disappointed at first that he couldn't act like a mini-neutral (yeah, my fault), and that he needed the village to win in order to win. He was moled successfully twice, in the forms of TIK and Yoshi King, but managed to keep the village on-track. He was, interestingly, going to use the Lash Pebble (a one-time redirection) on RaRe555, his killer, but changed his mind thinking that it couldn't redirect kills (you should've asked us!). Great leader to the village while it lasted.
9/10

Da Letter El (died night 6)
Dear Da Letter El,

You are Mia.

You are the shy and quiet Water Adept from the town of Imil at the base of Mercury Lighthouse. You assisted Isaac in his quest at Mercury Lighthouse, realizing you were then bound to assist him for the rest of his journey as well.

At night, you may PM asim and askaninjask “Night x – cast Ply on <user>.” The <user> you target with this Psynergy will be healed that night, causing any kill attempts on <user> to fail.

You also hold the Trident. You are not sure what this item’s abilities are, but you can tell it is very powerful. Perhaps it can get more use in the hands of others.

You are allied with Weyard.
Claimed late, which is a smart, normal thing to do compared to making a false claim. He was also the only BG claim, which helped his case. He was manipulated by Yoshi King night 5 not to protect RBG, but other than that played smart and didn't do anything wrong as is common with bodyguards in mafias these days. Sorry for giving you a role you hate DLE! Also, he kept the Trident the whole game, thinking Poseidon would be in the game looking for it. It actually was an item which would stop the holder from killing at all...
L/10

Tyranidos / Dubulous (survived)
Dear Tyranidos,

You are Echo.

You are a Venus djinni and faithful partner of Isaac of Vale. You are also incredibly elementally powerful, and can allow adepts to summon powerful beings.

At night, you may PM asim and askaninjask “Night x – become set on <user>.” You are not sure how this ability will help <user>, but if <user> can make use of this ability, you will both be notified.

You are allied with Weyard.
You attempted to become set on <user> last night, and something amazing happened! This user must be your faithful leader Isaac! Now that you have found an Earth Adept to utilize your abilities, you know what your powers can do. If you become set on this Earth Adept, that user will be able to unleash Venus the following night to kill someone. You may not become set on any user the same night the Earth Adept unleashes Venus.
Tyranidos never claimed to RBG iirc, but the night he subbed out he was checking GoldenKnight, which made Dubulous's job quite a bit easier. His ability could secretly power-up any adepts in the game that weren't Isaac (Mia, Maha, Ivan, Saturos, Menardi, Piers, Alex) and make them unhookable for the night.
6.66666667/10

Sledge / Eo Ut Mortus (survived)
Dear Sledge,

You are Briggs.

You are the intelligent pirate from the town of Champa who organized raids of other towns only to gain money to feed your starving people. You have a wife Chaucha and infant son Eoleo, and your sole duty in life is to protect them.

At night, you may PM asim and askaninjask “Night x – steal from <user>.” If <user> has any items in his or her possession, you will obtain all of them by the next morning.

In addition, although you wish to help Weyard in this war, others only see your evil side. Therefore, if you are ever inspected, you will be seen as allied only with yourself.

You also hold the Jupiter Star. You are not sure what it does, but it probably is important to another person in this game.

You are allied with Weyard.
Dear Sledge,

You are Briggs.

You are the intelligent pirate from the town of Champa who organized raids of other towns only to gain money to feed your starving people. You have a wife Chaucha and infant son Eoleo, and your sole duty in life is to protect them at any cost.

At night, you may PM asim and askaninjask “Night x – steal from <user>.” If <user> has any items in his or her possession, you will obtain all of them by the next morning.

You are allied with yourself. You win if <snip>
It's obvious I enjoy miller roles (although it didn't even come into play this game!). Definitely wound up being a power player in this game, especially when both of the other thieves died before night 3. The village having a thief gave them a silencing power by stealing and giving the black orb around. He also got Yoshi King the Sol Blade and stole the 9th Wonder's Comic from reyscarface the night of his public inspection. The game would have probably been Prox's had Sledge not stolen from rey. Sledge was a relatively new player for this game and he definitely impressed the both of us.

GoldenKnight (survived)
Dear GoldenKnight,

You are Isaac.

You are a natural born leader and Earth Adept from Vale. It is of your utmost priority to stop Saturos and Menardi from lighting the elemental lighthouses.

As of right now, you have a second priority as well. You lost your faithful djinni, Echo, and now it is your duty to find him. At night, you may PM asim and askaninjask “Night x – size up <user>.” If <user> is your djinni Echo, you will know.

You are also searching for your weapon, the Sol Blade. You are not sure what it does, but it would be in your best interest to find it.

You are allied with Weyard.
Dear GoldenKnight,

You are Isaac.

You are a natural born leader and Earth Adept from Vale. It is of your utmost priority to stop Saturos and Menardi from lighting the elemental lighthouses.

With the death of your faithful Echo, you have been enraged. It is your duty to avenge his death. From now on, on even nights, you may PM asim and askaninjask “Night x – cast Ragnarok on <user>.” This <user> will be killed. On odd nights, you may PM asim “Night x – cast Cloak.” You will be hidden from all night abilities that night.

You are still searching for your weapon, the Sol Blade. You now know that this item will heighten your ability and protect you in some way.

You are allied with yourself. You win if you are alive when one faction eliminates all others and Echo’s killer is dead.
Didn't do any leading per se, but killed who he was told to and played smart in Day 6. His claim was shaky at best without a PM from Tyranidos, which is why he was marked as evil in the beginning of the game, but when Dubulous was subbed in he was basically proven as a villager. Would've become "Dark Link" type wolf on the death of Echo (similar to Eusine in NPC mafia), but that never happened :(
7/10

Igor (survived)
Dear Igor,

You are Maha.

You are a werewolf who is also the chief of the village of Garoh. After learning the powerful Reveal Psynergy, you lost the ability to return to human form during the daytime, and are stuck in wolf form forever.

At night, you may PM asim and askaninjask “Night x – cast Reveal on <user>.” By the next morning, you will have revealed <user>’s identity and will know his or her full role PM.

You also have another ability. At night, you may PM asim and askaninjask “Night x – publically cast Reveal on <user>.” The next morning, this <user>’s role name will be publicly revealed for all to see. You cannot use this ability on yourself, nor can you use it the same night you use your other ability. This ability can only be used once in the game.

You are allied with Weyard.
Honestly, he was lucky to have been surrounded by players who were good enough to make up for his less-than-stellar play. He was an instrumental part of letting THE_IRON_KENYAN into the village, he didn't respond when RBG contacted him, he never gave his PM, and he was overall very lucky that Dubulous, GK and polelover saw that reyscarface was more likely to be mafia. Did good to save his public reveal for reyscarface, although Yoshi King seemed to be the only one to believe it at first.
4/10

polelover44 (survived)
Dear polelover44,

You are Ivan.

You are a powerful Wind Adept raised by Master Hammet in the merchant village of Kalay. Although you are dedicated to your mission to stop Saturos and Menardi, you somehow neglect some of your bad feelings in order to try and see the good in everyone.

At night, you may PM asim and askaninjask “Night x – cast Mind Read on <user>.” By the next morning, you will have read <user>’s thoughts and will know if they thought of good or bad things that night.

You also hold the Lash Pebble. While holding this item, you may PM asim “Night x – cast Lash between <user1> and <user2>.” All of <user1>’s abilities will be redirected towards <user2> that night. This item disappears after one use.

You are allied with Weyard.
Polelover played pretty well for a naive sheriff in his first mafia! He made a false claim that he used when he was talking with reyscarface, which basically secured any doubts he had of his alliance. He claimed early and was marked as a 100% villager in RBG and YK's spreadsheet. Also, the Lash Pebble was a really cool item that was never even used :(
6/10

Lemuria

Dear Lemurians,

You have gathered in the uncharted seas of Weyard to assemble your clan of Water adepts for the final war against those from Angara and Osenia. The following warriors are allied in this team:

THE_IRON_KENYAN: Piers: ability checker
matty: Lunpa: thief
Staraptor Call: James “Sawyer” Ford: persuader
Nook: Droideka: bodyguard

You are allowed to choose one member of your team to kill on even nights only. This may change with certain circumstances.

You know that the Wind Adept Sheba from Lalivero is not a part of this war, and neither are the characters Jack Shepherd of Lost or R2D2 from Star Wars.

You also know the villagers of Weyard have no roles that can check abilities, martyr, persuade, or safeguard.

Good luck in this war.

matty (died night 1)
Dear matty,

You are Lunpa.

Once, long ago, you were a master thief known throughout Weyard. However, after founding your eponymous town, you came to Lemuria to live for hundreds of years. For this reason, you feel you owe an incredible debt to those who have kept you alive so long.

At night, you may PM asim and askaninjask “Night x – steal from <user>.” If <user> has any items in his or her possession, you will obtain all of them by the next morning.

You are searching for an item, the Black Orb. If you can obtain this item, your powers may be greatly multiplied.

You also hold the Sol Blade. You are not sure what it does, but it probably is important to other players in this game.

You are allied with Lemuria.
You now hold the Black Orb. Whilst holding this item you may not make any posts in the day thread, however, your night powers will be greatly multiplied. Now, at night, you may choose to use your original ability, or you may PM asim and askaninjask “Night x – protect <user> from thieves.” If <user> has any thieves target him or her in the night, you will thwart the thieves and protect <user>'s items.
Didn't really come online at all in the entire game before he was killed by Yoshi King. Too bad. Probably had the worst or second worst power-up, but could've been great due to the plethora of items in the game. Held the Sol Blade as well, which went to blue_light night 1, and could give Isaac, Alex, or Cylon a one-time BPV and one-time unblockable kill.

THE_IRON_KENYAN (lynched day 1)
Dear THE_IRON_KENYAN,

You are Piers.

You are the incredibly old Water Adept who became lost from your homeland of Lemuria. Whilst sailing to new lands, you became unable to find your homeland again, but you have made contact with a few of your allies.

At night, you may PM asim and askaninjask “Night x – cast Supercool on <user>.” You will slow down <user> so much, you will be able to discern <user>’s ability. This ability will not prevent <user> from using any night roles.

You are searching for an item, the Black Orb. If you can obtain this item, your powers may be greatly multiplied.

In addition, although you are allied with Lemuria in this war, others will still see some good in you. If you are ever inspected, you will show up as the following:

asim said:
Dear THE_IRON_KENYAN,

You are Piers.

You are the incredibly old Water Adept who became lost from your homeland of Lemuria. Whilst sailing to new lands, you became unable to find your homeland again, and have completely lost contact with all your family and friends from your home.

As of right now, you have no powers, but you are searching for an item, the Black Orb. If you can obtain this item, your true powers may emerge.

You are allied with yourself. You win if <snip>
You also hold the Mercury Star. You are not sure what it does, but it probably is important to another person in this game.

You are allied with Lemuria.
You now hold the Black Orb. Whilst holding this item you may not make any posts in the day thread, however, your night powers will be greatly multiplied. Now, at night, you may PM asim and askaninjask “Night x – cast Megacool on <user>.” You will slow down <user> even more than usual, and you will be able to discern <user>’s full role PM. This ability will not prevent <user> from using any night roles.
Got a surprisingly large amount of claims, seeing as he claimed neutral... Unfortunately, he was found out by Yoshi King quickly, and lynched d1. He also provided fake role PMs to his team that got a lot of them lynched.
5/10

Nook (lynched day 4)
Dear Nook,

You are a Droideka.

Being one of the most powerful droids in the Imperial army, you are incredibly hard to get a hold of. However, Piers and the rest of Lemuria were able to recruit you for your abilities with your protective shield.

At night, you may PM asim and askaninjask “Night x – create force field around <user>.” That <user> will be protected from any attempts on his or her life during that night.

You are searching for an item, the Black Orb. If you can obtain this item, your powers may be greatly multiplied.

You are allied with Lemuria.
You now hold the Black Orb. Whilst holding this item you may not make any posts in the day thread, however, your night powers will be greatly multiplied. Now, at night, you may choose to use your original ability, or you may PM asim and askaninjask “Night x – create mob shield around <user>.” The next day, if the majority of voters attempt to lynch <user>, he or she will be protected from the lynch. You may not use this ability on the same person on consecutive nights.
Had a sub-par false claim made by TIK which used a picture that wasn't from tinypic. Other than that he didn't do much until he was lynched. (Yeah, I feel kind of guilty about that, asim and I checked the fake role PM and okayed it; sorry bro). Definitely had the best power-up role, but never got the chance to use it.
3/10

Staraptor Call (lynched day 5)
Dear Staraptor Call,

You are James “Sawyer” Ford.

As the badass self-appointed macho man of Oceanic Flight 815, you are an expert at forcing people to follow your will. As a result of this, you will use your influential manner of speech to sway the opinions of others here in Weyard.

At night, you may PM asim and askaninjask “Night x – persuade <user1> to vote <user2>.” This first <user> will be intimidated by your strong attitude and be forced to vote <user2> during the day or risk being shot in the face. You may not persuade anyone to vote for himself however.

You are searching for an item, the Black Orb. If you can obtain this item, your powers may be greatly multiplied.

You are allied with Lemuria.
ou now hold the Black Orb. Whilst holding this item you may not make any posts in the day thread, however, your night powers will be greatly multiplied. Now, at night, you may PM asim and askaninjask “Night x – secretly remove <user>'s influence.” The next day, any lynch votes <user> makes in the day thread will secretly count for a negative amount rather than the normal amount.
His claim also used a picture that wasn't form tinypic (again, sorry!), but actually wasn't for certain put in RBG and YK's spreadsheet as evil until his inspection and inevitable lynch. He didn't do much in terms of killing and persuading, but that was mainly because he didn't have a powerful role, and KotW's godkill stopped them from killing on their night. Also had a decent power-up that was not used :/
6/10

Prox

Dear Proxians,
You have gathered in the freezing north of Weyard to assemble your clan of Fire adepts for the final war against those from Angara and Osenia. The following warriors are allied in this team:

RaRe555: Saturos: silencer
Flamestrike: Menardi: hooker
reyscarface: Matt Parkman: inspector
imperfectluck: Nergal: anonymous messanger

You are allowed to choose one member of your team to kill on odd nights only. This may change with certain circumstances.

You know that the Fire Adepts Garet and Jenna from Vale are not a part of this war, and neither are the characters Peter Petrelli of Heroes or Archsage Athos of Fire Emblem.

You also know the villagers of Weyard have no roles that can silence, reverse martyr, name check, or send anonymous messages.

Good luck in this war.
imperfectluck (lynched day 2)
Dear imperfectluck,

You are Nergal.

As the most powerful Dark Druid ever trained, you decided it is your duty to help an equally evil power overtake the world of Weyard. You transported yourself there and allied with the Fire clans of Prox.

At night or day, you may PM asim and askaninjask “Night/Day x – send <dark magic> to <user>.” That night, whatever you say for <dark magic> will be sent anonymously to <user> by the end of the night or day. These messages can be as long or short as you wish.

You are allied with Prox.
imperfectluck's false claim of Jenna was great, but he was almost never online throughout the entirety of the game and didn't use his power a single time (I thought it was pretty cool too!). RBG and YK thought he was a villager in the beginning of the game, but they psuedo-inspected him and found him out quickly anyway.
3/10

Flamestrike (lynched day 3)
Dear Flamestrike,

You are Menardi.

In order to save the future of your village of Prox, you and Saturos decided to take a mission to light the elemental lighthouses. However, Isaac and companions do not wish this to happen.

At night, you may PM asim and askaninjask “Night x – cast Flare Storm on <user>.” You searing flames will incapacitate <user> for the night, causing all night actions he or she was using to fail.

You also hold the Mars Star. You are not sure what it does, but it probably is important to another person in this game.

You are allied with Prox.
Not much to say here, claimed something that was difficult to back up, then was pseudo-inspected by billymills and lynched. He did get Yoshi King to contact him as he was being lynched, which was possibly the turning point of the entire game.
5/10

reyscarface (died night 7)
Dear reyscarface,

You are Matt Parkman.

At one time you were just a boring cop, but once you developed your ability to read minds, everything changed. Now you have entered Weyard, and the Fire clans of Prox have recruited you to work for the forces of evil.

At night, you may PM asim and askaninjask “Night x – read <user>’s mind.” You will dig deep into <user>'s thoughts and discover his or her role PM by morning.

You also hold the 9th Wonders! Comic. On night 0 you must PM asim and askaninjask a role PM of your own creation. From then on, any user holding this item will show up as your created PM when inspected.

You are allied with Prox.
Dear user,

You are Archsage Athos.

Being one of the Eight Legends of the Scouring has caused people to refer to you as a Living Legend. You are very old, but you have been perfecting your powers to the point that you now control every single kind of magic. You have joined Weyard in order to do a last battle and find true peace that will lead you to your eternal rest.

At night, you may PM asim and askaninjask "Night x - cast Aureola on <user>." That night, <user> will be drenched in a bright light, allowing you to see him or her and find out his or her true role PM.

You are allied with Weyard.
He played well, it was a pity he was never inspected until the night his framing item was stolen. RBG was pretty sure that reyscarface was the inspector, and not Igor. When Yoshi King claimed Metal Sonic (hired gun) to Flamestrike, reyscarface inspected YK which led to his downfall. Late-game, he should have talked with YK about changing the lynch before telling everyone that he was wolf! That would probably have saved both of your lives. Other than that, definitely played well but lost when Yoshi King decided to kill him off to let the village win.
8/10

RaRe555 (died night 7)
Dear RaRe555,

You are Saturos.

As one of the most powerful members of the fire clan of Prox, you started a journey with Menardi to light the four elemental lighthouses. However, Isaac and his companions continuously thwarted you, but now you hope to enact your revenge.

At night, you may PM asim and askaninjask “Night x – cast Pyroclasm on <user>.” That <user> will be incapacitated by your volcanic might throughout the next day, and will not be able to post in the main game thread. You may not cast Pyroclasm on the same <user> on consecutive nights.

You are allied with Prox.
Didn't do much; reyscarface sent in the majority of his night actions and he usually never voted. I don't even know if he claimed at all, but if he did then it must have been poor, as he was marked evil very early in the game. Made useful silences, but I wish he would've got in contact with Lemuria's persuader to allow for some easy godkills.

Neutrals

blue_light (died night 2)
Dear blue_light,

You are Alex.

You are the mastermind behind the rising of the Golden Sun. As a puppeteer, you were able to get all the elemental lighthouses lit while barely raising a finger. Now, you must use your manipulation and abilities to teleport to reobtain the elemental stars so you can control the Wise One and harness the Golden Sun’s power to rule Weyard.

At night, you may PM asim and askaninjask “Night x – teleport to <user> and steal.” That night, you will take all items <user> is carrying, and you will get them before any other thief has a chance. Thus, you are the highest priority thief in the game.

Also, if any users die at night or during the day whilst holding an item, you will instantly teleport to the scene and remove all items from the corpse.

Using your teleportation abilities, you have determined the character Kraden of Vale is not a part of this game, and the village of Weyard also have no roles that can scavenge items from dead users.

You also hold the Mythril Bag. This item cannot be stolen. Whilst holding this item, you will know the powers of the Elemental Stars you obtain and you will be able to use them to your advantage, and thieves will be unable to steal them.

Whenever you obtain a new Elemental Star, you will gain new abilities. At any time, you may only use two individual abilities during any night (not including abilities given to you by other items you may obtain).

You are also searching for a weapon, the Sol Blade. It is not necessary for you to find, but it may be useful in your hands.

You are allied with yourself. You will win if you can obtain all four Elemental Stars before one faction eliminates all others.
Played okay, but was marked as a suspicious in RBG and YK's spreadsheet. Unfortunately, Yoshi King saw him as a threat so he killed him. He was actually holding an item that would have given him a bulletproof vest, had he not been using it to kill imperfectluck (who was ironically mafia). Was angry that he didn't know that the Sol Blade's BPV wouldn't work if he was using it to kill, but it was a balancing measure to the Sol Blade's unblockable killing power. When obtaining the Elemental Stars, he would've gained abilities to inspect, hook, and kill in that order.

Yoshi King (lynched day 7)
Dear Yoshi King,

You are Number 6, a cylon.

The cylons were created by man. They evolved. They rebelled. There are many copies. And they have a plan. Their plan is to destroy the world of Weyard, so they sent you, a 6 model cylon, to do the dirty work. Sleek and sexy, you are determined to do to the world of Weyard what you did to Caprica.

At night, you may PM asim and askaninjask “Night x – shoot <user>.” That night, <user> will be instantly killed. You may kill every night after night 0. Your gun does not count as an item, and it cannot be stolen or given away.

At night, you may also PM asim and askaninjask “Night x – coax <user>.” That night, you will use your natural good looks to persuade him or her to show you his or her mailbox and see all PMs sent to the hosts that night. You may only use this ability once in every two nights.

The cylon base has told you that the character Felix of Vale is not a part of this game, and the village of Weyard also have no roles that can check PMs sent to the hosts.

You also hold the Venus Star. You are not sure what it does, but it probably is important to another person in this game.

You are also searching for a weapon, the Sol Blade. It is not necessary for you to find, but it may be useful in your hands.

You are allied with yourself. You will win if you eliminate all other users.
Yoshi King played fantastically in this game. We specifically chose him for wolf since he's not a big enough name to be rand-targeted, but a good enough player that he'll shake things up. And damn, did he shake things up. He got into the inner workings of the village Day 1 by outing TIK, and kept access to the village spreadsheet until RBG died. He killed strategically, which wound up killing a possible ally in blue_light, but otherwise did him well. Night 5, RBG trusted YK to tell everyone their night actions (hint: that was probably a bad idea on RBG's part). He used the opportunity to kill billymills, RBG, and Team Aether. Sadly, rey turned on him last minute and he lost his amazing lead to the village. Also used the unblockable kill on the funeral night to cause the only villager death by the "village" on Raverist. (ps. askaninjask wrote this role PM and he was pretty excited about it!)

After everything, this was an amazing game to watch and host. aska and I both had a ton of fun and we hope you guys did too! Thanks for playing everyone!

Look here for the spreadsheet (let me know if you can't see it)

Also I forgot to add this but I wanted to. Things I learned about hosting this game that I want to make sure to remember:

-make sure to reword any custom win conditions for villagers or omit them
-less useless items or less items in general
-use killer gets the item method other than scavenger role (when blue_light died, the items just stayed on the bodies)
-two inspector type roles (Igor + billymills) in the village ended up being more broken than I thought even with a naive sheriff

FINALLY ITS HERE.

First of all, thanks for hosting, it was a very fun game to play in.

Now answers to some of the things you said that concern me:

Did good to save his public reveal for reyscarface, although Yoshi King seemed to be the only one to believe it at first.
That was not a "he did good" actually, that was possibly the biggest mistake I did in this game. You see, I was in contact with Igor, whom I had saved from a lynch (pseudo protecting YK, since if he lynched the real inspector he would have been marked as very suspicious there) and changed the lynch to Staraptor Call (who i didnt inspect, Igor did, but since he was silenced he couldnt say anything about it, and he gave me every single inspection he did from n1 in order for me to save him on the lynch). After the lynch ended, my ending plan was gonna start to work. I told Igor to public inspect YK, in order to get rid of him and then finish the village with ease getting a Prox win, but, even though he told me he would inspect YK, he said he was suspicious of me. Seeing how he was suspicious of me, I decided to change his target to myself, since I would appear as clean, just to then post YK's PM in the thread and manage to lynch him. Sadly, this is where I got luckfucked and basically lost the game. The exact night Igor inspected me, Sledge got my item and basically made me appear as mafia, which destroyed me terribly and ended my perfect endgame plan :(.

He used the opportunity to kill billymills, RBG, and Team Aether.
I killed billymills, not YK. And all the kills we did were basically my ideas, though props to YK because he totally got me moled there since even though I knew I had to kill him to win since something was fishy about his role, I ate his "you win if you kill all the adepts" claim and we cooperated.

Also in Flamestrikes role I think you should give him more credit since him asking for Neutrals to contact us was definitely the turning point in the game and when Mafia/Neutral got the advantage as opposed to a total village control.

As for the polelover thingie, I totally fucked up there. I counted terribly (fuck mexican schools they cant teach you basic math for shit!) and thought only 3 Lemurians had died instead of 4 (forgot matty), which made me do what I did.

Late-game, he should have talked with YK about changing the lynch before telling everyone that he was wolf! That would probably have saved both of your lives.
This is false tbh. When I saw the lynch being headed to me that day, I instantly PMd polelover about it. He told me "YK is leading the lynch and he says youre evil". I seriously was like "what the fuck" and that was the point I got all "yeah this guy needs me dead to win". I DID talk to him before lynching him, AND since some of the village had thought the Archsage Athos claim was decent (or not, i really dont care), I thought I was in a safe position and YK lynching me ruined all of that. I spoke to him about my lynch and he said "sorry, you basically killed yourself with the terrible claim" and I was like "e_e, dude its not terrible, Dubulous is following you this lynch, so are quite possibly the other villagers" to which he replied "yeah but i will be marked as evil if I lynch Igor" aaaand I answered "well would you rather be marked as evil, which probably wouldnt happen at all, and win the game, or lynch me", he answered the latter, so I outed him, I mean if he will backstab me I will backstab him back lol. Simple as this, if he lynched Igor, he would easily could have told GK to kill RaRe, while he killed me, and then he had a bazillion ways to win by lynching villagers, killing, and silencing with black orb, but he decided to take the wrong way to the win, in which he required me to stay silent.

Anyways gg all of you, and props to Yoshi King.

Edit: Losing by first getting "luckfucked" and then crossfire is not really nice ;-;

Alas, this postgame shows up but I must go to work! Expect more thoughts in about 6 hours. For those interested, I'll give a day-by-day play of my thoughts.

I wanted to start off with the fact though that in retrospect rey, I really, really should have stuck by you. Even if I had been marked evil and you had "backstabbed" me by killing me at night (or GK and Dubulous took things into their own hands by killing me), I still had a BPV from the Sol Blade and we did have the lynch controlled by that point. In all honesty I was completely paranoid about being seen as evil (and thus had my BPV stolen, etc etc.), and in my imagination you just said "gg wolf good luck!" instead of turning on me as well. That was sheer naivete at that point, and definitely cost me the game. I did turn extremely sour though, because I was frustrated at my loss. Sour grapes indeed, and I'm sorry for flamebaiting you a lot there.

More thoughts to come, I want to give everyone my take on how I went through this game.

I've no comments at my hopeless play at this mafia. Nobody else comment at my shit play or you will not get in my mafia-at-development.

ON a more honest note, I started this game intent on not claiming to anyone, for a change, hoping to use a fake claim to try and have some cover. Clearly I should have researched further than just choosing Dora and as a result fucked up big time. How I fell for YK's Metal Sonic claim, I don't know, perhaps I was just gullible. But yeah, being vanilla sucks, and I played a terrible game, don't rub it in.

This being my first forum mafia, I really wasn't sure what I should do =/ Now I realize I could have done a lot more, and hopefully I'll be better in the next games I'm in.

I have to say props to rey and Flamestrike, they were the stars of our team!

My original plan for TIK on D1 was to have him contact Sledge, the player new to Smogon mafia, and say that he had cleaned him and that he should try to lead the village. Little did I know Sledge was a miller! TIK didn't follow this, and instead made his own crazy plan that involved me claiming inspector. TIK's trying to lead the village with a neutral claim was a big mistake. Other than that, the hosts were the ones who ruined our team by writing fake role PMs with non-tinypic URLs. There wasn't much I could do; I played my best given the circumstances. When RB Golbat asked me to persuade Knightofthewind and get him godkilled I agreed, thinking he was being godkilled because he was Prox. But I ended up making my team miss a night of killing.

Guess what dude, I was the only guy on the team planning. Not only did you and Nook never get on IRC, you sat idly by letting me do my own thing instead of working together with me on planning or executing. Sure, I may have had a bad plan and didnt know it, but if you knew I did have a bad plan then why didnt you tell me? If I recall correctly, the only thing you told me to do was persuade Sledge. Nook wasnt much of a help either, just waiting to be ordered around. I also really like how you now begin to show your true feelings about my plans, instead of telling me when it counts- during the game.

In short, we are all to blame for the teams losses so dont act like it was all me.

TIK, I think you guys got luck-fucked more than anything else. Losing two members by the end of day 1 pretty much guarantees a loss for your team, and neither could really be helped.

Edit: I just realized the irony of me saying that.

Yeah, this went a lot better than Battleworld mafia for me, glad I actually had a major effect on the game. That being said, all I really did when talking to YK was relay all of the info/questions to YK from rey, then tell rey whatever YK told me. Still, had a lot of fun! Thanks aska and asim!

Alright guys, sorry for the wait. I had a midterm I had to study for, but that's done now.

First of all, I want to say great game to everyone, and thanks to asim and askaninjask for hosting. (and being really great for helping me steel my nerves when making a major decision) This has been my favourite mafia game ever, because I think most everyone played pretty well, and I really loved the theme since there's such a lot of lore involved. It took down Super Mario Mafia, my previous favourite. (mostly because I wasn't dead for 80% of the game, lol)

When I got my role PM, I had a sinking feeling in my stomache. I was wolf? Well, shit, I'm fucked. I didn't really think I had the ability to see it through to the end. I felt very human in this mafia, because I had no pseudo-inspection protection, and as RB Golbat said to me postgame, once I was inspected it was all over. I had to watch out for every move I made and play so as not to bring attention to myself or my motives.

Night 1, I targetted Matty for my kill, based on the fact that if he were a village, he'd make a strong leader, and if he were mafia he would probably try to mole the fuck out of them. Either way, a strong player goes down. (and this is probably why anonymous games are much better for the better/popular players) Sorry, Matty. It was really nothing personal...

Moving onto something a little more personal, I targetted blue_light for my mail-reading, knowing that his dislike of me would likely fuel him to target me immediately with a non-lethal role. My assumption was correct- I found out he was a thief, and this led RB Golbat and I to discover his status as the other neutral. Good thing that the Venus star held no powers for me!

Moving onto Day 2, I knew I had to claim quickly and with a foolproof role. Thanks to my safeclaim, I was able to make up an extremely solid role PM:

Dear Yoshi King,

You are Felix.

After being separated from Isaac and Garet at age 15, you have reappeared in order to bring peace to Weyard. While on your quest, you have also separated from Saturos and Menardi, no longer willing to involve innocent civilians in this war as they do.

At night, you may PM asim and askaninjask “Night x – cast Carry on <user>'s mail.” That night, you will use the Carry Psynergy on <user>'s mail, reading it before it is delivered to the hosts.

You also hold the Venus Star. You know that it houses powerful Psynergy, but have no idea how to unleash this power as of yet.

You are also searching for a weapon, the Sol Blade. It is not necessary for you to find, but it may be useful in your hands.

You are allied with Weyard.
here's a fixed pm for you.
Thanks again for the help with this, aska and asim.

So, claiming to RB Golbat immediately was my best course of action. I contacted him on IRC, claimed, and said I'd be willing to help him out. He presented me with TIK's role PM, and I used a little bit of intuition to guess he was probably Lemurian mafia (since otherwise it would all be full of old, wrinkly men). I'm extremely thankful that my hunch turned out to be correct, because I likely would've been on the chopping block if not for that. My successful guess guaranteed me a second-in-command role with RB Golbat, as I was able to use my extensive knowledge of Golden Sun to make educated guesses on a player's alliance or abilities to decide who was evil. However, this also led to my downfall in the endgame.

While the lynch continued, I was informed of blue_light's abilities becoming stronger and stronger. I was afraid he would target me again for an inspection, and decided to kill him.

Moving onto Night 1, it was just my luck that blue_light was using the Sol Blade to kill that night. However, I had to fake to RB Golbat that I had been redirected to mattimeo (or hooked, can't remember), as my ability only let me read mail once every other night. Since there were so many players still alive, this was a fairly believable claim to make.

Day 2

After billymills' pseudo inspect confirmed that ipl was a mafia, I attempted to get in touch with ipl. IPL was either feigning ignorance or literally did not give a shit about this game, as he more or less ignored my plea to get in contact with the mafia, thinking I was a village mole.

Night 3

After Crunchatize Me's public claim of hooker, I killed him. This also led to Flamestrike's death, since he claimed to be an ability copier and we disproved that. Looking back though, I guess the mafia must have targetted CM as well.

Day 3

Flamestrike was lynched, I had a lengthy conversation with Flamestrike and claimed Metal Sonic (hired gun). Claiming that I only needed to kill all of the adepts in the game, I felt I was in an okay position... until I was inspected by Rey.

I believe I also contacted Raverist on Day 3, claiming the same thing... sigh. I'm lucky he didn't suspect me. At the same time, Raverist claimed his actual role to me (Crazy Dave) saying that any mafia's claiming to him would be "trolled hard" and reverse-moled. He also asked me to keep this information from RB Golbat, which I did.

Night 4

I blew up Raverist on RB Golbat's orders.

Actually, this was sort of a turning point for the game. I began to earnestly suspect RB Golbat of being mafia based on his insistence that we off Raverist (and my knowledge of Raverist's actual role) thinking that he might be trying to get rid of the mayor- I used this to my advantage in convincing Da Letter El to protect himself on Night 5.

Day 4

I believe RB Golbat was silenced on this day, and I rushed to lead a lynch on Igor (suspecting he was mafia). Reyscarface had contacted me by this point.

More to come.

I wanted to be a neutral who needed x happy points to win.
sssh that's for my next mafia

Night 3

After Crunchatize Me's public claim of hooker, I killed him. This also led to Flamestrike's death, since he claimed to be an ability copier and we disproved that. Looking back though, I guess the mafia must have targetted CM as well.
actually the mafia (prox iirc) targeted RB Golbat that night but he survived due to the Shaman Rod

I actually wasn't as inactive as TIK says. On Night 1 I was exchanging plans with him and was the one who came up with the plan to get Sledge to try leading the village. I also met with players multiple times on IRC.

On an unrelated note, during the Nintendo RTM when Yoshi King was my team-mate (all glory to the Heroes!) he said that I had been very valuable to the village in Golden Sun Mafia. This convinced me that YK knew I was persuader, and that he had the village spreadsheet. Had my team been able to kill for one more night, we would have killed him.

I really didnt care about this game. As asim and askaninjask can attest, i tended to take a long time in choosing my targets (and probably held up the game at some points). I wonder, did I actually block any kills?

Anyway, I love golden sun, and a lot of my hunches proved right; i just didnt really care to think about anything. Also how the hell did i not die until that late, seriously...
