@Squid Ninja

Psychic is weak to pursuit and has terrible ofensive typing, probably why Alakazam is UU.

This pretty much. Psychic has piss poor defensive and offensive typing.

That's why you see Gengar in OU instead of unloved Alakazam, that and his terrible defense.

It's Pursuit and U-turn weak, mainly, but also has really bad coverage. It's not generally a good type unless paired with another type that balances it out either with resistances or extra STAB. Also, there aren't really that many good Psychic type pokemon.

The Melkor Files (insert cheesy music)

608: Ghost Lamp Pokémon. Ghost / Fire Type. Fanart by Hiro:

Ha, looks like Mismagius and Drifblim crossed.

They don't make terrifying, soul devouring, nightmare fueling ghosts like they used to.
Desukan?!?

:O :O :O

Man, I wanted the Candle Pokemon to evolve into a wizard...

(10 Internets for anyone who gets the reference)
Ya know, I never understood some digivolutions...

At least Fire is well represented this generation...

I wanted to ask this a long time ago, but why do people hate pure Psychic typing so much?
It's not hate, it's just that there are so many pure Psychic types this gen. >_> Kinda lame having so many, but oh well. There better be a Psychic gym...

[And a Dark type member of the E4... Again].

honestly, I've gone from "gf trolled this whole gen" to "gf is creative, but who the fuck decided on chaobu?"
denchura is a beast, byfar the cooliest design this gen.

I don't think the accuracy thing adds, I think it multiplies on top of it. So

50*1.3*1.1=72

That's not terrible, and it could make a great supporting pokemon with Zap Cannon, U-Turn, Spikes (which wouldn't be too crazy), and any other supporting move that it gets.

To demonstrate how bad a typing Psychic is, go look at Cresselia's stats. Then look at the tier it's currently in.

(although a lack of reliable recovery might be another reason, but w/e)

spikes would be nice, but i hope denchura is speedy.
im also looking for a non damaging entry hazard. like -2 speed when switched in. a nice change from "SPIKE TOXISPIKE SR LAWL"

I think the fact that it has no reliable recovery and the fact that is can't do squat shit once it's in made it go to UU.

also if the ROM is out, why the hell is only music coming out?!!? !__! the hell

I think Cresselia is one of those Pokemon whose very existence is threatened by Opposing Tyranitar. The mere presence of a Tyranitar spells doom for Cresselia. Sand Stream ruins it's only recovery, Pursuit wears it down, DD variants set up on it, CB outright kills it, and it can't do anything back. When you're a liability against one of the Top 5 Pokemon in the Game, you're dead weight more often than not. I think Cresselia should have like 50/105 offenses so it's not so helpless. Doesn't is look like a pure Special Attacker?

It's really kind of pathetic though how Psychic went from the best type in the game to (arguably) the worst type. Poison and Ice are horrible types for offense and defense respectively, but Psychic just sucks in general.

Cress learns Moonlight you know.

Well it might get recover this gen. But ttar is the reason why cress is doomed. Sure the psychic typing sucks but ttar is the main problem.

I could have sworn there was an Ice/Fighting somewhere in there...

EDIT - You know it would be nice if they gave Electrics more Dual-types, and I mean the regular pokes and not legendary
