Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
Maxim: Well, that was interesting to say the least. But how did Gastly outspeed Alurani....
Alurani:Um, when you launched the string shot at Air's eyes, it nullified the speed lowering effect
Maxim:........................
Maxim: Ok then, now we should slow him down with Stun Spore, bait a will-o-wisp with Sleep Powder, then Growth to do damage next turn. If stun spore misses, scrap sleep powder and use stun spore again
Alurani: sounds good.
Summary: Stun Spore~Sleep Powder~Growth
If stun spore misses, replace sleep powder with another stun spore.
EDIT: Oh yeah, I almost forgot, Alurani's ability in this battle is Natural Cure, I can't believe I forgot to mention that.
Air went back to her mental trickery to start the round, using Disable to completely wipe the memory of Shadow Ball from Alurani's mind! The little Budew didn't seem to care that her memory had been invaded though, and simply spread a Stun Spore over the Gastly, paralyzing it! Using her new speed advantage, Alurani tried to follow it up with a Sleep Powder, only to have a timely Will-O-Wisp from Air burn up the spores! Now concentrating on herself, Alurani used Growth, absorbing energy and becoming slightly bigger and stronger, though really still quite small. Air ignored this and simply hit her with a Shadow Ball, but even though she didn't take damage at all in the round Air was really starting to look exhausted!
Alurani: Thanks, but we still haven't done any damage to him.
Maxim: No worries, all part of the plan.
Alurani: YOU HAVE A PLAN?!
Maxim: ...ok fine, i'm making it up as i go, but anyway.
Maxim: hmm, use Growth once again, then respond with two Mega Drains. If he tries to chill, hit her with a Sleep Powder and continue with the plan
(i.e. Sleep Powder~Growth~Mega Drain)
Summary: Growth~Mega Drain~Mega Drain
If he tries to chill, respond with sleep powder
Air, let's try to do a TON of damage as we go out!
First, Sludge Bomb. Then, since you're a Ghost, I want you to run (err glide) straight at Alurani and pass into her! Then, take her out with a MASSIVE EXPLOSION! If you're somehow still alive, do the above again!
Sludge Bomb ~ Glide into Alurani and use Explosion ~ Same thing
Still faster thanks to paralysis, Alurani continued to use Growth, and continued to look puny, though perhaps not quite so much now! Air simply tossed a Sludge Bomb at her, unimpressed by her growth spurt. Annoyed, Alurani countered with a Mega Drain, dealing a bit of damage and also healing herself, but the Gastly suddenly got a mischievous look on its face despite its great exhaustion. Gliding over to the Budew, it suddenly phased into it and then used Explosion! The explosion ripped through Alurani's body, but thanks to the physics of the Pokemon world it wasn't killed, though the blow was a critical hit and dealt absolutely massive damage!

Alurani: What are we gonna do? what are we gonna do? what are....
Maxim: Cut it out
Alurani: what are we gonna do?
Maxim:...Anyway, we're faster than Snover, so start off good with a Sleep Powder, then respond with two Sludge Bombs while he's sleeping, that should do a good chunk of damage. If he wakes up on the third action, replace that with another sleep powder, but only if he was asleep.
Alurani; I'll try, but this isn't going to be pretty in the end.
Summary Sleep Powder~Sludge Bomb~Sludge Bomb
If he wakes up on third action, use Sleep Powder again
EDiT: By the way, why isn't Alurani at +2 since I used Growth twice?
Maxim, stat boosts decay. That being said, I just realized your boost decayed one round too early, so you're right. *facepalm* Fixing that now, will have this reffed fairly soon.
iss wasted no time in sending out his newest Pokemon, Shrug the Snover! Before either trainer could act, Shrug's Snow Warning activated, and a massive hailstorm began to buffet the arena! Brandon returned Vinestrike to her Pokeball, knowing she wouldn't like to stay out in these unfavourable conditions. Despite the icy weather, Alurani held strong, summoning a Sleep Powder in an attempt to incapacitate Shrug! The powder connected easily despite the hail, but to both Maxim's and Brandon's surprised the Snover just shook it off with ease! Then Brandon remembered reading somewhere that Grass types were more resistant to powders than most Pokemon...
Grass STAB summary said:
Grass STAB; Immunity to Leech Seed and Worry Seed. 50% reduction in status effect chance of oncoming "powder" attacks. More mobile in areas with strong natural light sources. Superior senses in tall grass and forest areas. Able to use Wrap and Bind without losing focus.
Taking advantage of the Budew's momentary confusion at the failure of her attack, Shrug whipped up a massive Blizzard in the hailstorm, crushing poor Alurani with a critical hit! Somehow she stayed standing, and even managed to launch a final Sludge Bomb at Shrug, but even though it did decent damage it didn't stop Shrug from launching a second Blizzard, knocking out Alurani!
Brandon now had his Magmortar, Flamestrike, out to make a fire shield to keep him safe from the hailstorm. It was actually working surprisingly well, and he watched as Maxim shivered while recalling his poor Budew. "Maxim only has Privatyke left to fight off both Snover and Chinchou, so this doesn't look good for him, but stranger things have happened before. Let's see what he does!"
We're faster, so let's hit it with a Leech Seed! Then Bullet Seed, hopefully breaking his Sub! Then make a 15 HP Substitute to block some of his Arm Thrusts!
Maxim, despite the disadvantage, refused to give in and sent out his Privatyke, Diagnos! Wasting no time, Shrug welcomed Diagnos to the field with a Leech Seed, which attached to the Privatyke, ready to suck away health. Diagnos responded by putting up a Substitute! Using both his energy and life force, Diagnos created a small doll to put in front of himself to protect himself from attacks! Unfortunately, Shrug just sprays out a Bullet Seed, hitting the Substitute until it broke and even getting a hit or two on Diagnos! Diagnos simply decided to use Bulk Up, getting himself stronger for the difficult fight ahead. Shrug then decided to take a page out of Diagnos's playbook, making a Substitute of his own! However, turnabout really is fair play as Diagnos pulled out a multi-hit move of his own, Arm Thrust! The Privatyke's arms repeatedly smacked the Substitute, and once the substitute broke he got a few hits in on Shrug before tiring out. However, the hail and Leech Seed both took effect, and it was clear that even with the advantage Alurani had given him Diagnos would be hard-pressed to take down Shrug.
Maxim: That bullet seed hit 5 times! Crap Crap Crap Crap.....
Diagnos: Get a hold of yourself Captain!
Maxim: Right, that bullet seed was really powerful, hmm, let's start with another Arm Thrust, then I want you to Recover your health while he chills, then Arm Thrust again.
Diagnos: Lets show that scurvy dog that we're not to be trifled with!
Taking it easy in order to give Lamps a chance to hit the battlefield, Shrug hit Diagnos with a Razor Leaf! The Privatyke took it fairly well despite the weakness, and struck back with an Arm Thrust! He did some decent damage but couldn't hit Shrug nearly as many times as he did before. Next, Shrug just decided to chill, giving Diagnos the opportunity to Recover some of his HP back! Well rested now, Shrug fired off another Razor Leaf, only to get struck back with another Arm Thrust! This one hit a few more times than the last one, but still not nearly as much as the first one. As the round came to a close, the Leech Seed sapped a bit more health from Diagnos before finally falling off, but the Hail continued to chip away at the Privatyke.
As Maxim began to admit defeat, his Privatyke nonetheless continued to put up a good fight. However, it was Shrug who started the round, with another Razor Leaf! Diagnos was starting to look worse for wear, but he still struck back with another Arm Thrust! It seemed like Maxim's attitude was starting to affect his Pokemon, however, because Diagnos only connected a few times, not putting in a full effort. Shrug, almost down for the count himself, nonetheless summoned a final Blizzard, almost taking Diagnos with him, but even with little effort a final Arm Thrust was enough to finish off the Snover!

Diagnos, exhausted and barely able to stand, watched as iss sent out his final Pokemon, Lamps the Chinchou. He tried to recover some much needed health, but a single Thunderbolt ripped through him and sealed his and his trainer's fate, knocking him out. iss recalled Lamps, and the two trainers congratulated each other on a hard-fought battle. Brandon had Flamestrike clear the skies with a Sunny Day as he too congratulated the newcomers. They showed great promise, and he was sure they would do great things in the future.
