Challenge The Scramble Challenge - Mark 2

@maserato

You get a Bulbasaur named Patience. This Bulbasaur believes that a long battle patiently waiting for your opponent to keel over is a good battle. As such it can only ever have one attacking move which must be under 60BP (Including STAB, so Razor Leaf would be disallowed due to having effectively 82.5BP). All its other moves must be status moves of some sort.

Good luck!

@Snaquaza
You know that almost all the possible outcomes of your challange mean that Ditto will almost never get used right? You're basically just denying him a teamslot... And if he HAD chosen a dual type it would've gone way past "hard" difficulty into the "insane" range.

Somewhere on #orangeislands...

[16:20:48] <%IAR> .roll d146
[16:20:50] <skybot> IAR: 95 (d146=95)

[16:24:29] <%IAR> .roll d10
[16:24:31] <skybot> IAR: 3 (d10=3)

[16:26:01] <%IAR> .roll d4
[16:26:02] <skybot> IAR: 1 (d4=1)

@ maserato: You get RNG the Onix.

RNG was decided by RNG to come to you to assist you on your adventure. RNG must know & keep at least 1 Non-Attacking move, & must solo 3 Gym Leaders/E4 Members. Of course, every time RNG attacks, you must roll a d4 through whatever you want (whether it be through IRC Bots or some actual d4), with each move corresponding to the appropriate number (Top-Left Move = 1, Top-Right Move = 2, Bottom-Left Move = 3, Bottom-Right Move = 4).

Have fun cursing the RNG.

Darknesscrusher, your sunkern is ANGRY though.

At least solo all wild pokemon or breeders under the category!

Also reserving one for maserato and bearded dragonaite.

@Jimera, I was planning to make it hard single-type too, as he always when possible needs to do the rule, he only chose the only restriction that doesnt matter with it, I may give it out once again, as I would like a better outcome, but then I would do it against an insane scramble

maserato, take Top% the Rattata. Because Top% is a top% Rattata, it cannot evolve and may only learn the true rat moves, which are: Tackle and Bite. Top% the Rattata wants to show its true power to certain trainer grops, including: your rival, one gym leader, one Pokémon League member, one bad organization member, by solo'ing the 4 of them.

GL

So the general consensus on my update lengths was: don't care.
OP.

So without further adieu...

With the Zefer Zepher Zephyr badge in tow, I left the Violet City gym and was bombarded with a phone call about that egg, (if this was a normal RPG that egg would end up being a huge plot point, but Pokemon is far from normal) and so I went and picked it up, and was then told that eggs only hatch when they're in my party.

You_don%27t_say.png

I mean, it's not like I already have three eggs in my party already. Did I mention that in my last update? I don't remember, whatever, I have those eggs from Primo.

Anyway, I was finally able to leave that horrible city (I only dislike it becase it reminds so much of my hometown, full of old people who refuse to accept that modern technology is actually a good thing), on my way out, I was given a souvenir, a Miracle Seed, and when your only Pokemon is a Bayleef, you take what you can get.

On the way to Union Cave, and my newest team member, Support learnt Reflect, so unlike RNG from my Emerald challange, my starter has a full moveset almost straight away.

Exploring the basement of the Union Cave (10% encounter rate in basement, 5% everywhere else) Support and I stumbled upon an Onix, who we figured would die from a single Razor Leaf, so we poisoned her and stalled, catching her on the last Pokeball, they have stupidly low catch rates. So I named her Behemoth and looked at her stats, pretty normal, annoyingly she couldn't attack because she had no Rock, Ground or Steel moves, oh and her nature...? Bold... It's happening all over again! Bold is the new Quiet! I'm calling it now.

So after a bit of grinding and two phone calls from Youngster Joey, Behemoth learned Rock Throw, and was able to you know, contribute.

On the way into Azalea Town, I met Hiker Anthony, who assumed, that because I travel, I see all kinds of towns.... Azalea would have been the fourth town I had ever seen, but I didn't want to upset him.

(Do you guys remember in my first HG update, (of course you don't, it was ages ago) that the first thing Support did when I spoke to her was sneeze? Well, Behemoth's first interaction with me was 'nipping my feet'. What the hell? Onixes shouldn't do that.)

So the locals kept banging on about this Kurt guy, who could make Pokeballs out of fruit, sounds cool, I thought. But he was all like, 'nuh-uh, I'm ggoing to stop Team Rocket, and ran off'. So I begrudgingly followed. We ended up at the bottom of a well, and he just happened to have hurt his back, so I would have to do all the work instead. There are reasons why the elderly annoy me, this is just one.

Well, my first battle against Team Rocket, time to ROCK IT. Get it, because they're Team Rocket, and I was using Behemoth... come back! I promise I'll never make a pun again... unless I forget, which, I almost certainly will.

After powering through Team Rocket, I met executive Proton, who is 'the cruelest guy in Team Rocket'. He then proceeded to send out a level 8 Zubat... I had iterally only a moment ago defeated a wild, level 9 Zubat. I didn't have the heart to tell him.

After breezing through Proton, Kurt's back magically restored itself, and then he took me back to his house with his instant matter teleportation powers, which I assume rely on his back being healthy, because he otherwise would have been able to take on Team Rocket by himself.

Deciding to leave the old man with my Apricorns, (you have to give old people something to do, otherwise their mind goes) I went to the gym, and Onix learned Rage, which is a shame, because I can't use it. I just want to shout I'm about to unleash my Rage, so bad.

And so, Support vs. Bugsy, but for all intents and purposes it was really Support vs. Scyther, because screw Kakuna and Metapod, they literally served no purpose other that to annoy; Kakuna's poison typing meaning no poisoning it, and Bugsy using his Super Potion on it and Metapod's Shed Skin, made them both very hard to take down. Scyther itself wasn't too bad, basically I just set up a Reflect, and poisoned it, and healed as appropriate. GG Bugsy.

MVP due to challenges. She just learnt Magical Leaf after beating Bugsy, and let me tell you, Razor Leave + Atk lowering nature vs. 2 Pokemon with 4x resists is not fun.

Behemoth/Onix (F)
Bold
Lv. 15

Screech

Haven't used her much. My heart died a little when I saw that Bold nature. You guys have no idea how bad I want to scream, 'I'm about to unleash my Rage'. If it wasn't for my Dunspasre in my White 2 in-game playthrough, I think I would be dying right now.

In the next part we face... her. The destroyer of childhood's, the ruiner of fun. She who sorts the PokeMEN from the PokeBOYS. Whitney. Also, I'll catch Drowsy the Drowzee I guess.

Also, if you were wondering what took so long for this update; well, partly it was uni assignments and tests piling up, and then car issues, but mostly it's the new Fire Emblem game. I love it so much. I promise, I'll try and get these updates out more often though. I think I'm approaching the end of Awakening, so it should be a non-issue soon enough. (I hope.)

Darknesscrusher, your sunkern is ANGRY though.

At least solo all wild pokemon or breeders under the category!

Also reserving one for maserato and bearded dragonaite.

I also just realised that the first Sunkern I can get is after the E4... so you might want to give me something else...

Can someone give me my last challenge, rules are a few pages back, than I will finish all three scrambles before I start a new, but now I can choose always when I want to play one

Edit: It is on page 359, the last post

Edit2: Yay, Celever reserved

@Recec

Great updates as always! I just love the casual style of your updates. Oh, and that Onix Inanimate Blob gave you? I don't think he realized this when he gave you it...

Sentret, Joltik, Nidoran M and F, Ditto, Squirtle, Alakazam, Natu, Purrloin, Vanillite, Psyduck, Corsola, Delibird, Patrat, Foongus, Tynamo... the list goes on.

So yeah, have fun trying to kill anything with that.

Hey, this is the first time I'm gonna do a scramble challange. So uh, I'm not really an expert so this is gonna be a bit brief, I guess?

  • The Version of your game: White 2 on emulator.
  • Whether you can trade or not: Nope, not really.
  • Difficulty (Optional, otherwise, we assume hard): I'm kind of a beginner, so easy~medium?
  • Anything else (Like your rules, what you do/don't want to see, etc.): I don't really like the "battle 1000 trainers to evolve" or "monomagikarp run without evolving", so if you can give me something else, it'd be really cool. o/

@ Sarkynin

Take Assistance the Purrloin. Because the Purrloin family is useless on its own, Assistance must know and keep Assist at all times. In order to evolve it has to use Assist a total of 30 times. In ever major boss fight (Rival, gym, Colress, plasma shadowa etc.) that Assistance participates in, it must use Assist before any other move. One final restriction, pick one gym leder, Assistance must solo their strongest Pokemon using only Assist.

Tl;dr
Purrloin named Assistance
Must always have Assist
To evolve, it must use Assist 30 times.
In every boss it participates in, it has to use Assist first.
Pick a gym leader, solo their strongest Pokemon, using only Assist.

@Jimera0
I've been aware of Onix's horrible stats for a while. I honestly have no idea how I'm going to beat Jasmine's Steelix.

Take Machine the Magnemite. This Magnemite is obsessed with machines and how all the parts work together to achieve a common goal, and so it sees your team as like a machine; He believes that with teamwork, anything can be solved. He must take part in every Double Battle you enter. Along with his obsession with machines, he has an obsession with evolving. To gather enough electricity to evolve, however, he must solo 10 electric-types (wild and trained). Upon evolving, he becomes even more obsessed with machines, and so may only use moves that can be taught by Technical Machines. You can evolve into Magnezone anytime.
Good luck!
Just remember that his restrictions stay on even after evolving

@Sarkynin

Both the challenges you've been given so far have been rather difficult so i'll give you a breather. Take a Oshawott and name it Samurai. It wishes to be the Ultimate Samurai, so make sure you teach it every slashing move you can (I'll leave it up to your discretion as to what counts). In order to prove it is the best it must defeat another master, so have it defeat Marshal in single combat (That means solo him).

Good luck, have fun, and don't let Assist from Recec cause you to tear your hair out :P

Sorry snaquaza, my dad is an attention whore etc. etc. but here is your challenge!!

Take Mario the Nosepass.

Nosepass has always looked to it's evolution probopass with envy. It is mario - your Nosepass' hero - in his pokemon form, but Nosepass actually missed the part where he was told he evolves into probopass. He wants to turn into a probopass by other means and you have to help him figure out what they are.

While walking down an alley he found a bunch of electric types talking about "hooking up" to the machine. Hey? Think this would work? Guess what, it didn't, and your nosepass kinda got his brain hurt by it. He became afraid of electricity... and all other things floating in the air. It makes him extremely afraid of chargestone cave, so you may only battle in there once you manage to discover a way to become a probopass!

Evolve --> Change --> Strange --> Odd --> Even --> Ground --> Earth --> Water --> Drink --> Glass --> Beach --> Sea --> Salt --> Rock --> Hard --> Easy --> Simple --> Basic --> Form --> Shape --> Merge --> Change --> EVOLVE!!!

I have become a fan of word links lately, so that sums up your challenge.

To evolve you must find some ground types. Mario uses ground ALL the time!! You must solo 30 trainer-owned ground pokemon before you get to undella. If you fail then you are not actually able to evolve at all. (idek if it is possible. Let me know lol).

He must solo 20 water types around the sea. The sea means undella bay. If he solos 20 without fainting then he may evolve. If he solos 10-19 without fainting he may have a chance to evolve. If he solos 0-9 then game over.
No healing. First time you get to undella.

He is a rock type, but he wants to be a probopass so much he thinks he is steel. Only once he is hit by 100 attacks that steel would normally resist but rock does not he has completed this restriction.

While audino training, Nosepass must gain the ability simple 10 times to fulfill that restriction.

So Basically you also have to solo Iris AS a probopass. If you fail the challenge and cannot evolve it then you must solo Marshall AND Iris as a nosepass.

@Sarkynin

So apparently my challange is actually quite difficult. I didn't think it was, but I didn't think Joey the Rattata was difficult and well... it's been a while since I've seen Phoenix512. So if you find it too difficult and want to reject it, I can change it, or replace it?

I reserve one for Sarkynin and CBTerrakion

Sarkynin, take a Ferroseed named Recognize.
This Ferroseed rules depends on how much of the opponents species it already had fought against
1. No restrictions
2-3. You can't use items.
4-5. You can't use your strongest attack.
6+ You can't use STAB

CBTerrakion take Rhyhorn
You must solo a gym, regardless of other soloes, if you don't solo a route between the gyms.
You can't return to the Pokemon centre, for the E4, you need to solo a floor.

I Accept

Gonna give this a try!

Version: SoulSilver
Can trade?: yes
Difficulty: As a first timer, keep it relatively simple.
What I do/don't want: Don't give me chikorita or anything offensively weak, nothing annoyingly copious

Oh that's funny, I thought you hated scramble challenges! Oh well, I am reserving for you.

Gonna give this a try!

Version: SoulSilver
Can trade?: yes

What I do/don't want: Don't give me chikorita or anything offensively weak, nothing annoyingly copious

Take Brute the Pinsir. Brute has always been jealous of Heracross. Heracross looks better, is more popular, and even keeps that wonderful move Megahorn to himself. So, to try and prove that he is better than Heracross, he will only use moves that Heracross can learn (so that means no STAB). He must also solo the strongest Pokemon from each of Whitney, Jasmine and Pryce, because those are the gyms Heracross is good in, and must also solo Karen (because Heracross is strong against her). Good Luck!

First off: This thread name... Mods must have drank too much or something. ._.

Sarkynin, you wanted some easy challenges? Take Aura the Riolu. Aura has a very strong aura and despises physical violence. Instead, ASAP, Aura only wants to use Special moves. Aura loves Grass-types, as they semll really nice and enhance your aura. As such, it wants to solo all trainer owned grass-types you will encounter. To strengthen its aura, it has to solo the ghost-type elite four.

GL

CBTerrakion, you get the most beautiful EGG! the Togepi from the egg. Togepi absolutely adores you. but has to learn much. In order to fight an opponent of a new (base) typing, another Pokémon must switch in after EGG! and defeat the Pokémon for EGG! By doing so, EGG! learns how to defeat said type of Pokémon. EGG! wants to be nurtured, but dislikes all held items. As such, it never wants to hold an item.

As soon as it evolves into Togetic, it is very happy it can fly. It wants to learn Fly and use it at least once in every battle.

To evolve into Togekiss, get yourself the Shiny Stone from the Pokeathlon ASAP and evolve Togetic ASAP.

- As everyone knows, it visits peaceful regions, bringing them gifts of kindness and sweet blessings.

Togekiss wants to bring gifts to its opponent by starting each battle by using any of the following moves: Fling, Natural Gift, Trick. Mind that these attacks should not fail, but have to work for Togekiss to truly give Gifts. (So as a Togekiss, you must hold items. Also, better not give Togekiss any items you want to keep. These moves are permanent.)

To prove its worth, Togekiss wants to solo one Elite Four member, but not after giving presents to the highest leveled Pokémon on their team.

GL PS: If you think giving Togekiss new items everytime is annoying, wild Pokémon do not need tricks, only trainers need them.

CBTerrakion, take Entomophob the Cyndaquil. This Cyndaquil, for some reason, is extremely afraid of Bug-Types. It seems to be part of its life, but you can't figure it out. So, never have it fight a Bug Type, unless it is the last Pokemon in your party. This Cyndaquil is also afraid of Grass types because it once saw a Torterra beat its parents, so it may never fight Grass types either. Tell me if you want to add anything.
