Hey guys, welcome to ASB! Hope you're both ready for your first battle! Shouldn't be anything too crazy, but it'll be a nice chance to get used to how things work. Let's just go over the rules quickly, shall we?

Looks like it'll be a good match! Here's how it works. Since Typhloterra chose the arena, he sends out his first Pokemon first. Then typon sends in a Pokemon of his own and gives it orders. Then Typhloterra gives his own orders, and then I'll ref. Then Typhloterra will give orders, typon will give orders, and I'll ref again. It'll keep going like that until a Pokemon gets KOed! We'll go over what happens then when the time comes. Until then, let's get to the fighting!

1) Typhloterra sends out a Pokemon
2) typon77 sends out a Pokemon and orders
3) Typhloterra orders
4) I ref
5) Typhloterra orders
6) typon77 orders
7) I ref
8) 5-7 repeat with the order of 5 and 6 switching each time
Typhloterra, you're up!

Ok I'll send out Resistor first!

Ok Resistor, this'll be a tough battle. The threat of a Ground move is huge with your weakness, so start off by using your Magnetic field to Rise off the ground.
Then, Reflect away the incoming resisted physical attacks. Finally, nail Steeler with a Thunderbolt on his weaker special defense.

If he tries to Swagger you, make sure you replace your current action with Magic Coat.

Magnet Rise<Reflect<Thunderbolt
Replace any action with Magic Coat if he uses Swagger

Also, A question. How does Sonicboom work? Does it just do 20 flat damage?

Sonicboom: The Pokemon slices the air before it, creating a shock wave projectile. The trainer can direct the Pokemon to create a slow but long-lingering wave, a fast but quickly dissipating one, or an in-between option. This attack always causes ten (10) HP Damage, regardless of stats, typing, STAB, or any other effects.

Attack Power: Fixed Damage = 10 | Accuracy: 90% | Energy Cost: 5 | Attack Type: Special | Effect Chance: -- | Typing: Normal | Priority: 0 | CT: Passive

The Attack and Command List in the Data Audit thread has every single attack in the game (plus a few ASB-exclusive commands like Dodge) and how they work.

Ok. Steeler will have Rock Head.

First Steeler, use your Head to Smash into Resistor.
Then get your defenses ready with Iron Defense.
And then use Head Smash again.

And here we go! Typhloterra starts with Steeler the Aron while typon counters with Resistor the Magnemite! Resistor is first to act, using Magnet Rise to hover above the arena! Looks like Steeler's Earthquake won't be much use! However, Steeler instead opts for one of his stronger attacks, a Head Smash! Unfortunately, Resistor lives up to its name, as it's not very effective! Then to make matters worse for the little Aron, Resistor sets up a Reflect! Looking to boost his own defense, Steeler uses Iron Defense, and his Defense rises greatly, but that won't help him take that Thunderbolt! He strikes back with another Head Smash, but it's still not very effective, and with the Reflect up it does pitiful damage, but still uses up quite a bit of energy! Typhloterra is going to need to find a new strategy and fast, or typon is going to take a quick lead!

Typhloterra, you're up!

Alright! Steeler Slap Resistor with Mud.
Then defend yourself with Iron Defense.
Then hit Resistor with another Mud-Slap.

Mud-Slap~Iron Defense~Mud-Slap

Ok Resistor you're doing great taking hits. First off, Protect yourself from the Mud to avoid a potential accuracy drop. Then, use Thunderbolt to make him feel sorry for using the free turn to boost up. Finally, hit him hard with a Flash Cannon to deal some more good damage. Hopefully, we'll avoid the accuracy drop from his incoming mud-slap.

Resistor, sensing trouble, quickly throws up a Protect, and not a moment too soon as Steeler hurls a Mud-Slap its way! Resistor, happy to dodge a painful attack, retaliates with a Thunderbolt, and this one paralyzes Steeler! Steeler overcomes the paralysis though, and uses another Iron Defense to greatly boost his Defense again! Resistor continues the offense with a Flash Cannon, but Steeler strikes back with a Mud-Slap! It's super effective, and Steeler also scores a critical hit! The match is still really even, and as Resistor's Magnet Rise wears off it's still anyone's game!

Resistor quickly uses Magnet Rise to again make himself immune to Steeler's Earthquake, but Steeler opts to Swagger Resistor! Its Attack is greatly boosted, but it is also severely confused! Resistor, shaking off the confusion, manages to launch a Thunderbolt, but the mud from last round obscures his vision and he misses! And Steeler sees the opportunity to add more with another Mud-Slap! This time Resistor goes for a Flash Cannon, but it ends up hitting itself in its confusion! And Steeler again takes advantage with Mud-Slap, and suddenly it's the Aron that's in control! Can he hang on?

We're ahead now, so let's try to stay ahead. Use a Mud-Slap to start off. Then use Swagger again. If Resistor uses Magic Coat then use Iron Defense instead. Finish it off with a Mud-Slap.

Now Resistor, you've done great inflicting damage on him. However, you've almost drained all of your energy, so use the first turn to take a Chill pill and recover. Then, blast off a Thunderbolt then a Flash Cannon and hope your alive at the end. Also, use Magic Coat instead if he tries to swagger.

Chill<Thunderbolt<Flash Cannon
Replace current action with Magic Coat if Swagger is used on any action

Now's our chance Steeler! Hit Resistor with an Earthquake since his Magnet Rise is down. Then Slap him with some Mud to lower his accuracy. Them finish him off with another Earthquake.

As a more thorough explanation to that barebones reffing. I went home for the holidays this year, and spent New Year's Eve at my friends, hence the first delayed reffing. Then, I got home New Year's day and pulled out my laptop for a bit, then packed it up to head to my grandparents for the night before coming back here for school. Except I left my charger at home -_- So I needed to do that reffing as my battery was dying on me, and I only just barely made it. I now have my charger back though so there should be no more troubles! (hopefully)

Absolutely exhausted, Resistor tries to chill to prepare for the long haul, but hits itself in confusion instead! Steeler realizes that Resistor finally isn't levitating too, and he strikes true with an Earthquake, which is just enough to knock out the Magnemite! Typon recalls Resistor, and now must choose his second Pokemon! Then Typhloterra can order and the match will go on!

Confused (1 action)

Action 1:
Resistor used chill
-> RNG roll for confusion (1-5000 to hit self) -> 10 (hit self)
4[BP] - 1.5[Stat Dif.] + 3.5[Boost Dif.] = 6 damage, 3 energy
Steeler used Earthquake
-> RNG roll to crit (1-625 to crit) -> 3532 (no crit)
(10[BP] - 1[Sturdy]) * 2.25[SE] = 20.25, rounded to 20 damage, 6 energy, Resistor KOed
typon77, you're up! (Send out your second Pokemon and then Typhloterra orders, then you order and I ref)

Ok Resistor, you did great. But Steeler's various hax moves and ground moves got the best of you.

Go, Junior! Avenge Resistor!!!!

Great job Steeler! So let's try to hit him hard to start. Start with hitting him with an Earthquake. Then use Mud-Slap to get his accuracy down a bit. Then hit him with another Earthquake. If he uses Protect, then Chill for a bit to get your energy back a little.

Earthquake~Mud-Slap~Earthquake

Chill on every turn that Junior uses Protect.
