lol, an Uber pokemon has less than 3.41% usage (Thunderous).I always thought it's ban was rather odd.Still it's probably because most people are running sand and Manaphy and Keldeo are there to abuse the rain along with Zapdose. i'm quite surprised ninetails made it into top ten.Another thing surprises me that Deoxys-S and ditto is getting such low usage.Especially LO Deoxys-S is like a scarfed revenger that can switch moves.

I'm glad Ninetales (and sun, by extension) is seeing more usage in Dream World. People are really underestimating the power of sun, and even with the loss of Blaziken, powerful sweepers such as Venusaur and Volcarona are still present and can absolutely wreak havoc on many teams.

I find it extremely surprising that, given Tyranitar is the most used mon in the tier, Garchomp and Excadrill, while the latter can sweep through the entirety of teams late-game after an SD boost, are used so little. The later may be used a little bit more, being placed happily at #8, but compared to Tyranitar, that's nothing. I also have come to realize garchomp's not only used in Sand, it's also used in other weathers to counter sand. While I know Tyranitar is only used as much as it is for the simple fact it eats Chandelure alive, Pursuiting it on the switch, but it's still astounding to see this occurring.

I also find it hard to believe Breloom is used so much; I don't see it anywhere. Kelp being used so little is also highly surprising, being only 18.

I also love how Ninetales is at number 9 and its abusers, Heatran, Infernape and Venusaur, are right behind it. Chandelure, however, is used much more, being at #2.

This month will be fun.

These are some really interesting stats, nice to see Sun is on the rise in Dream World. As for the stats, there's something that surprised me a lot.

This surprised me. From my experiences on the ladder, Ditto is a common mon to face, and one that every team should make a priority to deal with upon seeing team preview. It makes you think twice about setting up with Manaphy or Dragonite, or any booster for that matter. I don't know, I guess I was expecting more people to be abusing Ditto, ha.

As for the top used mons...

It's no surprise to me that Tyranitar is still the most used Pokemon in Dream World. As well as setting up Stealth Rock, it also serves as the most reliable answer to Chandelure. It also provides as a great special tank and sets up Stealth Rocks easily. It feels like to me that Tyranitar usage is so high mainly because of Chandelure. Chandelure is an annoyance to many teams and people need a method to get rid of it. Albeit, some Chandelure are beginning to run Hidden Power [Fighting] to 2HKO Specially Defensive Tyranitars on the switch, in an attempt to remove the best "answer" to it. I'm also surprised at how low Hippowdon usage is in relation to Tyranitar.

To think Tyranitar has about 7 times the usage Hippowdon does is crazy to me. Hippowdon also can set up Stealth Rock, but it also has reliable recovery and can actually can take on Excadrill and Garchomp.

From these stats I can see a lot more balance in the ratios of weather. Unlike last month where Tyranitar was getting a lot more usage than the other inducers. It's nice to see something more than the same Sandstorm teams all the time, however effective they are.

I'm glad that the tier is finally starting to balance itself out, considering that the number 1 Pokemon is only at 15% usage! To me, that's either a sign that the tier is incredibly versatile or that there are a lot of noobs using bad Pokemon..... either way the stats this month are really interesting! I'm surprised that Garchomp is being used less than Dragonite, even if it is by one place. Garchomp is a lot faster and an arguably better typing with an immunity to Thunder Wave. Why do people run Dragonite? Is it just because of the fact that its Outrage is stronger? Multiscale is probably a bigger factor but whatever. Scarf Genesect can't OHKO Dragonite without the Special Attack boost when Multiscale is up so that could be a part of it. There are some other pretty interesting things high up too, like Infernape and Venusaur (people are realizing how good sun is!), Gliscor having more usage than Excadrill, and defensive hazard setters like Ferrothorn, Skarmory, Tentacruel, and Forretress all having more usage than Deoxys-S. Is balance the biggest tier in DW then? Deoxys-S is still a fine hazards setter for offensive teams nevertheless, since with Sash it almost always gets at least a layer up versus teams that don't lead with Tyranitar. Tyranitar isn't even the top lead either... Politoed is! Admittedly Sash Tar is pretty common, and that stops Deoxys-S outright, so I guess there's some reasoning behind the fall of Deo-S :P

I think these are very positive-looking statistics in terms of the variety in the tier: although I'm pretty sure there's a far higher percentage of weather teams nearer the top of the ladder... The surprisingly modest usage of Garchomp, Excadrill and Manaphy shows that they aren't broken at all in this tier, and that the metagame is even shifting away from them; making successful stall teams a very real possibility.

I always knew Thundurus was kinda underwhelming; I find that Tornadus' flying STAB is superior in a tier with a dearth of steel-types outside of Ferro and Genesect. And Zapdos totally outclasses it thanks to its Electric immunity.

One thing that's worrying for my rain team is the rise of Ninetales. The Sunny Day variant absolutely fucks me up.

I agree with NatGeo, its really cool to see that the metagame is diverse. Of course, Chandelure is mean and people use Tyranitar to counter it, so they are #1 and #2. But it also shows that sand teams are the most used out of the weathers, and that sucks. Rain is ridiculous with the advent of Manaphy and Keldeo, while sun, even without Blaziken, has a buffed up Venasaur and Volcarona. Hail isn't even that bad, but it's definitely fun to use.

Echoing the surprise at garchomp's low usage, especially since he is useful on just about every type of team. Also surprised to see dragonite so high regardless.

It's really interesting, but a ton of stall teams are popping up near the top of the ladder as it were. These generally consist of a heatran / amoonguss / slowbro / skarmory core or something like that, relying on entry hazards to wear the opponent down. Tyranitar is also very common on these teams, as it traps chandelure and adds residual damage. These teams are very effective against the HO sand teams that are very common.

I'm surprised to see lati@s's usages so low. They're extremely effective in this meta, especially on sand teams where they can be added to basically counter rain teams. With their great defensive typing, they also shut down breloom, keldeo, and the like.

Also, about the linoone thing. I think it's being used as a lure with chandelure, like durant, except less noticeable. With choice scarf, it tricks it to the opponent, who might have used a fighting move to get rid of linoone. Chandelure can then come in and stat up. I've mostly just seen this on a couple of teams, but I can't imagine what it would be being used for otherwise.

Stall is barely seen in any Gen 5 metagame. Chandelure is not the reason why stall is dead in DW. It doesn't exactly help stall, but let's try to take every statistic into account when we try to blame one pokemon for a dying strategy. Stall has sucked for two generations now and it would be dying even without Chandelure.

Only thing Hurricane hits that Thundurus wishes it could without the use of a Hidden Power type is Breloom, tbh.

Actually you get astounding neutral coverage on a lot of the metagame; you can just switch in on anything and start wrecking things with Hurricane since you 2KO just about everything in the current metagame. No thought behind it all, because Specs Hurricane on blast is an awesome thing to behold (i.e. there is basically nothing besides steel-types not named ferrothorn / scizor, rock types not named Terrakion, and faster mons that escape a 2KO).

Also the best Tornadus set isn't Specs. It's Tornadus's mixed set. With Hammer Harm to 2HKO Blissey / Chansey, and STAB LO Hurricane for the rest it's amazing. U-Turn to get a SE hit on Lati@s and set yourself up in a favorable position is the best.
