You and I Know
After talking with some of the players and in consideration of the number of battles which still need to be completed, I am extending the deadline to Monday, August 25. Hopefully everyone has enough free time over the weekend to get their battles done. I've been keeping track of the statistics very diligently, and I would like to minimize the amount of missing data.
Alright, here are the pairings for Round One!
But first, I would like to put in a few reminders, which I strongly encourage everyone to read.
First, the tournament committee will ban two Pokemon each round. ***The first will be the pokemon which was used most in the previous round, and the second will be the pokemon which was struck out the most in the previous round.*** For this reason it is very important that battle logs are sent to both Junior and myself. Pokemon removed in this way will be unavailable to all players for the duration of the tournament. In lieu of a statistical strikeout in the first round, Garchomp will be banned.
Second, in each round you will be able to Strike Out a Pokemon from your opponent’s choices in that round. You can use your strikeout to eliminate a key threat, or remove a pesky wall to clear the way for your sweepers. Your selection will not be restricted in any way, but remember that your choice will likely clue your opponent in to what kind of team you are running! Make your choice and build your team wisely. Pokemon removed in this way will be unavailable only to your opponent in that round and only for that round.
Now that I have started receiving PMs, I am going to underline the names of the players who have sent me their strikeout PMs as a sort of check to make sure I didn't screw up. It's also a nice reminder for the opponents of people who sent PMs. If both your and your opponent's names are underlined, you should have received a PM back from me telling you what pokemon you cannot use and confirming your choice. If both names have been underlined for more than a day and you still have not received a PM, then post in this thread or send a PM to me and/or Junior to get things cleared up.
I'm really sorry for the late changes to the sign-up thread; I should have thought this through better. But everything should be good to go for now, so Good Luck to all the participants!
This is the summary of the rules changes from my post at the end of page two:

- Garchomp is banned in this round and for the duration of the tournament.
- Both players must send logs from your battle to BOTH Junior and myself. Do not forget this.
- All strikeout PM's should be sent to me. Do not send them directly to your opponent, and do not play your match before receiving your strikeout PM back from me. Title your PM with the name of your match, and make it simple to read as outlined in the sign-up thread: http://www.smogon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=44023

The first round will be OU, except that Garchomp and one other pokemon chosen by your opponent will not be allowed.
In the second round, a total of three pokemon will be unavailable to everyone (Garchomp, the most frequently used from the first round, and the most struck out from the first round), and once again your opponent will select one additional pokemon which only you cannot use.
Sorry I didn't make it more clear that this is a variation of OU. I hope this post clears a few things up.
