move 2: Rock Polish
move 3: Magic Coat
move 4: Baton Pass
item: Lum Berry
nature: Calm

Set Comments:
- Bolsters the power of nearly any offensive pokemon by providing them a 2+ boost in Speed and Attack/Special Attack.
- Rock Polish's on turn 1 to gain the immediate advantage against opposing pokemon.
- Definitely appreciates Light Screen and Reflect as their effects make Mew is nearly indestructible.
- Magic Coat is now capable of reflecting several new moves notable moves are:Roar, Whirlwind,Taunt and Encore. This makes it the ultimate tool in stopping opposing pokemon from breaking your Baton Pass attempts. It requires slightly more prediction than Taunt but is infinitely more useful.
- If your prediction skills are lacking, Taunt is useful for preventing pokemon from crippling you with Status and it turns many defensive pokemon into setup fodder.
- Mew isn't limited to Baton Passing Attack / Special Attack and Speed. Mew has access to Amnesia and Iron Defense, if you prefer approach.
- Mew can trap opponents with Block, giving him an easier time at setting up. You may end up trapping a pokemon who does not mind being trap making this a risky tactic.
- Scizor is a good counter to Mew, forcing him to Baton Pass immediately due to U-turn.
- Spiritomb is effective against Mew. Not only does he force him to Baton Pass immediately, Spiritomb can cripple the Baton Pass recipient with Status.
- Tyranitar can force him with out STAB Crunch, but he needs to be weary that Mew can Baton Pass to teammates who completely wall him.
- Dragon Tail users like Groudon can always force Mew to switch and unlike Roar, it isn't stopped by Taunt.
- Powerful High powered attacks can cripple Mew or it's Baton Pass partners. Pokemon like Latios or Kyogre can switch and fire off their high powered STAB attacks to heavily damage Mew or it's partners.
- Pokemon with the Mischievous Heart ability can shut Mew down with priority non attacking moves. Eruufun in particular can switch into any of Mew's support moves and priority Encore them.
- Mew appreciates entry hazards to help out his Baton Pass recipients sweep. Above all else, Mew absolutely needs Dual Screen support to ensure he gets of those Baton Pass'. Deoxys-S is a fantastic partner for Mew. Not only can he lay down entry hazards, he is also capable of setting up Light Screen and Reflect.
- Wobbuffet can aid Mew by trapping and using encore pokemon and giving him more time.
- Any reasonably powerful sweeper who is somewhat can partner up with Mew. Pokemon like Groudon, Dialga and Garchomp appreciate the the boost from Mew and can cause mayhem after a boost.
- Ditto's are the bane of Mew. A trainer using Ditto can wait until after you've passed your boosts to a Baton Pass recipient and copy them for free.
name: Offensive Baton Pass
move 1: Swords Dance / Nasty Plot
move 2: Magic Coat / Taunt
move 3: Low Kick / Aura Sphere / Flamethrower
move 4: Baton Pass
item: Lum Berry
nature: Jolly / Timid
evs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Set comments:
- A Baton Pass set that utilizes offensive move to get by it's counter.
- Reflect and Light Screen are still invaluable for Mew, as they aid his Baton Passing attempts.
- Low Kick is strong enough to utterly cripple Tyranitar switch in's, and guarantee's the KO with a boost.
- Magic Coat will reflect all phazing attempts (with some prediction) Taunt is preferred if you want to guarantee stop defensive pokemon completely.
- Flamethrower can be used to KO Scizor attempting to scare you out.
- Mew can drop Magic Guard or Taunt for another attacking move (like Psycho Shock) to cover more pokemon.
- While Tyranitar typically has a harder time countering you, Scarf Tyranitar can still cripple with Crunch.
- Similarly, Scarf Scizor can abuse it's powerful U-turns to utterly cripple Mew and switch into a pokemon that doesn't mind it's coverage moves.
- Mischievous Heart pokemon are mild annoyance, but most of their phazing attempts can be blocked by Magic Coat. Eruufun in particular can still force you out due to Encore. (It will also be stuck using Encore on itself if it encores Magic Coat)
- The drop in bulk will mean that Mew have trouble absorbing heavy hits (even behind Dual Screens) so Powerful attackers like Kyogre or Dialga can utterly cripple Mew and it's partners with their high powered STAB.
- Entry Hazards are still appreciated, as they aid Mew and his Baton Pass recipients greatly.
- Deoxys-S can set up both Light Screen and Reflect and lay down Stealth Rocks and Spikes making him the ideal partner.
- Due to the lack of Rock Polish, slow Baton Pass recipients are not recommended. Naturally fast sweepers like Garchomp or Mewtwo are excellent
- partners.
name: Lead
move 1: Stealth Rock
move 2: Magic Coat / Taunt
move 3: U-turn
move 4: Explosion
item: Lum Berry
nature: Jolly
evs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Spe
Set Comments:
- Access to Magic Coat makes Mew one the best leads in the game due to it's ability to reflect entry hazards with a +4 priority.
- An Effective lead that sets up Stealth Rocks reliably and effectively matches up against most of the enemy leads.
- Capable of being used on any team; it always performs adequately.
- Taunt shuts down slower and bulkier leads like Nattorei and Skarmory, while U-turn gives you momentum.
- Explosion was severely nerfed, but it is still a powerful option for Mew.
- Useful at any point of the game due to Explosion.
- Mew can utilize a plethora of other support moves in the leading position
- Overheat is useful for dealing Scizor and Fortress, while Aura Sphere can hamper Tyranitar.
- Spiritomb can completely shut Mew down. It switches into all of it's move without any trouble and threaten him with a Pursuit.
- Tyranitar can switch into nearly everything Mew can use and KO with Mew with Crunch or trap him with Pursuit. Scizor can switch in with anything Mew can use with ease and can Pursuit Mew or U-turn to gain momentum.
- Scizor himself is an excellent partner to Mew, as he resists all of Mew's weaknesses and can threaten Tyranitar with Bullet Punch.
- Mew can lure out many of Mewtwo's checks (such as Scizor) and several weaken it Explosion, giving Mewtwo an increased chanced at sweeping.
- When Baton Passing, Dual Screens and entry hazards are intricate to his success. Deoxys-S capable of setting up Dual Screens and entry hazards.
- Wobbuffet can trap and encore foes, giving Mew extra time at setting up a Baton Pass. Mew also appreciates the aid of a spin blocker to keep entry hazards from being removed. Giratina-O is a perfect candidate for the job due to it's typing and immunity to hazards.
- Mew can use a variety of movesets due to it's immense movepool.
- Offensive Swords Dance and Nasty Plot can be used, but it's general inferior to other pokemon.
- Substitute is an option if you think your teammates would like guaranteed protection instead of a power.
- Hypnosis is useful for potentially crippling one Mew's counters.
- Mew can use a moveset utilizing Transform, but it's usefulness has lessened due to arrival of Eccentric Ditto.
- Spiritomb is immune to Mew's STAB and doesn't care about either of his coverage moves and threatens him with Pursuit or Dark Pulse.
- Scizor is an effective counter to most sets, as he threatens Mew with STAB U-turn. He needs to be weary of Overheat though.
- Tyranitar can switch in with ease and force it with Crunch or trap and kill Mew with pursuit. Again, he needs to be wary of Low Kick or Aura Sphere.
- Metagross is an effective counter to Mew's offensive movesets. He is capable of taking a 2+ Earthquake, and can retaliate with a powerful Meteor Mash. Generally, if Mew is utilzing a Baton Pass set, switching into your strongest attacker can give you the advantage. Kyogre, Latios and other insanely powerful pokemon can fire off their strongest STAB to cripple Mew or pretty much any of his Baton Pass recipients.
- Mew did not receive a Dream World ability.
