Deoxys

--------

[Overview]

Deoxys is a great Pokemon, with great offenses—150 in both attacking stats and Speed—as well as access to Spikes and Stealth Rock. However, Deoxys's potential is overshadowed by its alternate formes, Deoxys-A and Deoxys-S. Deoxys-A has the same Speed stat and greater offenses, whereas Deoxys-S has much more Speed. However, because it is bulkier than Deoxys-A and has better offensive stats than Deoxys-S, Deoxys can, with some EV adjustments, outperform its other formes in a supporting role, proving its own worth as a competitive Pokemon.

[SET]
name: Support
move 1: Stealth Rock
move 2: Spikes
move 3: Shadow Ball
move 4: ExtremeSpeed
item: Focus Sash
ability: Pressure
nature: Naive
evs: 112 Def / 146 SpA / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

You might think that anything Deoxys can possibly run will be outclassed by its alternate formes. However, this support set, with a more balanced EV spread, can give it a good matchup against most foes. Although it has poor Defense, some extra EVs will allow Deoxys to take hits from most opposition; notably, ExtremeSpeed from Deoxys-S will not 2HKO it. Opposing Deoxys-S can be beaten with a combination of Shadow Ball and ExtremeSpeed, making the opponent really think about whether they should attack, Taunt, or set up entry hazards. The final two moveslots consist of entry hazards, Deoxys's blazing speed and Focus Sash allowing itto set them up quite easily, providing excellent support for offensive teams.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

Because of Team Preview, the usefulness of Deoxys may be hindered. Accordingly, there are a few extra options that can be used over Shadow Ball to give you the element of surprise against would-be counters. Hidden Power Fire can be used to KO Ferrothorn and bring Forretress down to 1 HP due to Sturdy. It is important to note that Team Preview can allow the opponent to lead with a Tyranitar, which OHKOes Deoxys with Crunch and sandstorm damage. Superpower can therefore make a good choice for Deoxys, as it OHKOes Tyranitar as well as denting Blissey and Dialga. Darkrai will beat Deoxys in a lead matchup with Dark Void. A Scizor can be useful to combat Darkrai, provided that something can be used as sleep fodder.

[Other Options]

While there are many other options that Deoxys can run, it is unfortunately outclassed in all of them by Deoxys-A. Deoxys can run an offensive Calm Mind set, with a Focus Sash to increase its chances of netting an extra Calm Mind. However, it will be beaten by the likes of Giratina-O and Arceus, who carry priority moves. Also, entry hazards are a common sight in Ubers, so it is likely that Deoxys's Focus Sash will be broken quite easily. Again, though, Deoxys-A outclasses the standard forme for this role.

Thunder will allow Deoxys to emerge victorious against Kyogre in a lead matchup, as Thunder + ExtremeSpeed is a clean KO. Ice Beam can deal massive damage to Dragon-type Pokemon such as Latios, Latias, Rayquaza, and Salamence, and in the latter two cases, it will OHKO. It will also deal hefty damage to Groudon.

[Checks and Counters]

When faced with Deoxys in a lead matchup, beating it is a matter of great prediction, as it can either choose to set up entry hazards or justattack outright. Choice Scarf Kyogre can defeat Deoxys, only allowing it to set up one layer of entry hazards. Kyogre does take massive damage from Thunder if Deoxys carries it though. Bulky Pokemon can set up on Deoxys as it sets up entry hazards. Groudon is a prime example; Shadow Ball and ExtremeSpeed do pitiful damage, and Groudon can proceed to set up Rock Polishes (and possibly Swords Dances), and placethe opponent's entire team in jeopardy. Groudon must be wary of Deoxys that carry Ice Beam, however. This also applies to certain Dragon-type Pokemon, who are OHKOed by Ice Beam. Choice Scarf Dialga and Palkia are neutral to Ice Beam and can outspeed and kill Deoxys. Giratina can survive two Ice Beams and can pick off Deoxys with Shadow Sneak. Darkrai can put Deoxys to sleep with Dark Void and proceed to set up on it. Deoxys's attacks won't do much damage to Darkrai, except Thunder and Superpower. Scizor can put Deoxys under pressure, because it can trap and KO Deoxys with Pursuit, or KO it with U-turn or Bullet Punch, the latter having priority.

Move Thunder and Ice Beam to OO, you don't need them for a lead. Shadow Ball should be the only slash since your primary objective is to beat other Deoxys, but Hidden Power Fire can be mentioned in the Additional Comments to screw up Forry/Ferrothorn.

Due to wifi Clause, leads are no longer fixed. If you lead with Deoxys, the opponent can just lead with something like Tyranitar and Crunch you to death unless you use Superpower, which is an important move to me.

Superpower lets you kill Blissey and Dialga as well.

When faced against Deoxys in a lead matchup, beating it is a matter of prediction. when it is attacked, which is why prediction plays such an important role when facing Deoxys.
If you use the set listed, Forretress (the most common lead at the moment) sets up on you. It can Rapid Spin away your Spikes or 2HKO with Gyro Ball + Rapid Spin. This is why a Fire move is important. Dialga can take any attack even Superpower and 2HKO Deoxys at worst.

This also applies to Dragon-type Pokemon, who are OHKOd by Ice Beam.
Not all Dragon types. Change it to frailer Dragon types. Zekrom and Giratina-O can easily survive an Ice Beam. Both can OHKO Deoxys with STABs. Scarf Zekrom can Volt Switch out the lead set to something else such as Forretress to take the incoming Ice Beam. Bolt Strike and Outrage will kill Deoxys so sure. Giratina-O has Shadow Sneak to pick off Deoxys. Giratina can survive 2 Ice Beams. Dialga and Reshiram aren't weak to Ice Beam.

Mention Scizor as a counter because it survives every attack from the set listed. Bullet Punch, Pursuit and U-Turn will put Deoxys in a tight spot. Any Arceus with Extremespeed can take out Deoxys. Arceus can survive at least one attack from Deoxys.

Choice Scarf Palkia and Reshiram are decent checks because they outspeed Deoxys and are not weak to any moves Deoxys uses.

[SET COMMENTS]

You might think that anything Deoxys can possibly run will be outclassed by its alternate formes. However, this lead support set can give it a good matchup against most foes opposing leads, thanks to an some EV adjustments. Although it has poor Defense, some extra EVs will allow Deoxys to take hits from opposing leads most opposition; notably, ExtremeSpeed ExtremSpeed from Deoxys-S will not 2HKO it. Opposing Deoxys-S can be beaten with a combination of Shadow Ball and ExtremSpeed ExtremeSpeed, and should it decide to attack instead of setting up entry hazards should it use Taunt, or set up entry hazards making the opponent really think about whether they should attack, Taunt, or set up entry hazards. If Deoxys-S attacks initially, it will fail to set up any entry hazards. The final two moveslots consist of entry hazards, which can be useful for supporting offensive teams. Deoxys' blazing speed and a Focus Sash will help it to set up more entry hazards and Deoxys's blazing speed and Focus Sash means that it can set them up quite easily, making Deoxys a huge supportive player for offensive teams.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

Because of Team Preview, the usefulness of Deoxys may be hindered. Accordingly, there are a few extra options that can be used over Shadow Ball to give you the element of suprise surprise against would-be counters. Hidden Power Fire can also be used to KO Ferrothorn and bring Forretress down to 1 HP due to Sturdy. It is important to note that Team Preview can allow the opponent to lead with a Tyranitar, which OHKOes Deoxys with Crunch and sandstorm damage. Deoxys is useless against Tyranitar unless it carries Superpower, which OHKOs it. It can also dent Blissey and Dialga. Superpower can therefore make a good choice for Deoxys, as it OHKOes Tyranitar as well as denting Blissey and Dialga. Darkrai will beat Deoxys in a lead matchup with Dark Void. A Scizor can be useful to combat Darkrai, providing provided that something can be used as sleep fodder.

[Other Options]

While there are many other options that Deoxys can run, it is unfortuneatly unfortunately outclassed in all of them by Deoxys-A. Deoxys can run and an offensive Calm Mind set, with a Focus Sash to its increase its chances of netting an extra Calm Mind. However, it will be beaten by the likes of Giratina-O and Arceus, who carry priority moves. Also, entry hazards are just as common in the Uber tier as they are in other tiers a common sight in Ubers, so it is likely that Deoxys's Focus Sash will be broken quite easily. A SubPeyeta SubPetaya set can make use of Deoxys's great Speed and remarkable offensive stats, as well as make it immune to safeguarding it from status moves, priority, and phasing phazing from Dragon Tail. Again, though, Deoxys-A outclasses the standard forme for this role.

Thunder will allow Deoxys to emerge victorious against Kyogre in a lead matchup, as it will be KO when followed by ExtremSpeed as Thunder + ExtremeSpeed is a clean KO. Ice Beam can deal massive damage to Dragon-type Pokemon such as Latios, Latias, and Rayquaza, and Salamence, and in the latter two cases, it will OHKO. It will also deal hefty damage to Groudon.

[Checks and Counters]

When faced against Deoxys in a lead matchup, beating it is a matter of prediction. Deoxys can choose to either attack or set up entry hazards. It can attack when it is Taunted, or set up entry hazards For Example: Dugtrio can trap and KO Deoxys with Earthquake, but it is outsped, and Deoxys can lay down an additional layer of entry hazards before dying. Optionally, Deoxys can attack Dugtrio, dealing around 73% damage with Extremespeed. This is why prediction plays such an important role when facing Deoxys

When faced against Deoxys in a lead matchup, beating it is a matter of great prediction, as it can either choose to set up entry hazards or just outright attack. Choice Scarf Kyogre can defeat Deoxys, while only allowing it to set up one layer of entry hazards. Kyogre does take massive damage from Thunder if Deoxys carries it though. Bulky Pokemon can set up on Deoxys as it sets up its entry hazards. Groudon is a prime example; Shadow Ball and ExtremSpeed ExtremeSpeed do pitiful small damage, and Groudon can proceed to set up Rock Polishes (and possibly Swords Dances), (and possible Sword Dances) and place your entire team in jepardy jeopardy. Deoxys can run Ice Beam and deal massive damage to Groudons, who attempt to set up against it. Groudon must be wary of Deoxys that carry Ice Beam, however. I'm sorry, but there's way to many basic mistakes in here, it's nigh unacceptable for an analysis to be written in this way.

The spelling of basic words comes to mind, like 'jeopardy'. You also manage to misspell 'ExtremeSpeed' throughout the whole analysis.

Way too many short sentences that go nowhere, definitely look into semicolons and conjunctions to improve your future writing efforts.

One of the paragraphs for Checks and Counters basically doesn't make sense, so I recommended that you delete it and merge the usable part with the next paragraph.

Seriously...

You mentioned that it can run offensive sets, but it is outclassed by Deoxys-A.
Deoxys-A is Uber, this is now BL. Need to add something more?
