5th Gen PRNG Help / Info - Latest: RNG Reporter 9.96.5, PPRNG 1.15.0

I was using the second 50, so to be sure I put 10 as the max.
well, I'll try again with lower timer0s. thanks, I'll write here if I find something (or if I find nothing).

Try using a lower second. If it takes more than 10 seconds to seed it'll go over into the next minute and mess up your results.

ok, these are the ranges I used:

seconds: 43 - 53
vcount: 0 - FF
timer0: 0 - 1A00
gxstat: 6 - 6
vframe: 0 - 15

tomorrow (it's 2:47 AM here, asd) I'll try with higher vframes and, if I find nothing, even with different gxstats.

p.s. is there a way to know the full seed? 'cause it exists the "view standard seed" code, but it shows only the first 8 digits. the searches would be blazing fast if I could find the full seed.

I've only taken [25] samples, but is it common to have your Timer 0 fluctuate much more in B2/W2 than in B/W?

In all of my experience in B/W I only ever at most got 3 Timer0s and that was pretty rare. It was usually 2. I'll go collect [more samples].

ok, this is not good.
I started the game at the second 2, and searched in these ranges:

seconds: 2 - 12
vcount: 0 - FF
timer0: 0 - 1400
gxstat: 0 - 15
vframe: 0 - 15

and I found nothing. I'm 100% sure I do everything right.

can someone who has a flashcard tell me which parameters he\she found? so I see if they can be more far from the default ones and have some hope to find them.

My vframe was 18, iirc.

They vary across flash cards. Someone with the same one could give you a better idea.

thanks!!!! just knowing that the vframe can be more than 15 gives me hope!!! thanks a bunch!!!!

p.s. is the victory road's exit still the best place to find the parameters?

edit: if I find nothing by enlarging the vframe range, tonight I'll leave the computer on searching in these ranges:

seconds: * - *+20
vcount: 0 - FF
timer0: 0 - 3000
gxstat: 0 - FF
vframe: 0 - FF

let's see if I won't find anything.

Does any one know how the gender percents work in RNG Reporter? I ask because there are four columns with 50% 12.5% 25% and 75% but that adds up to more than 100% so I cant tell if one of them should be ignored.

Cereza

Tastes Like Candy
Those are the gender ratios, you have to look under the ratio corresponding to the correct ratio for a given species. For example Pikachu has a gender ratio of 50%. So you look under 50%, if you see M pikachu will be male, if F pikachu will be Female.

Now let's say you go for Chikorita, which has the ratios 87.5 (M):12.5 (F). You will look under the 12.5 tab to see what gender Chikorita will be. Also, you always use the female ratio, for example; 25(M):75(F) you will have to look at the 75% tab.

Sorry if this is a little messy! I don't have that much time right now!

ok!! thanks to bond697, who fixed the code to view the vcount and the timer0, now I know that they are respectively 6B and DEC. now my searches will be very faster.

edit: guys O.o
I found the strangest parameters ever:

actual seconds: +9
vcount: 6D (it found it even if I put the range as 6B in both min and max)
timer0: D8D
gxstat: 0 (is this normal?????)
vframe: A4

the difference between the timer0 I found with the code and the one I found with the RNG reporter is 5F. quite a lot.

I'm sure I could find the answer if I looked hard enough, but I have an incredibly slow computer right now... So what's going on with BW2? Are any manipulations possible with a retail cart yet? Did I miss any mystery gifts? When did the paramters search change? I did a paramters search a while ago for White, but when I went to input information back into it, the formatting's changed. It's now asking for a min and max for everything, but I don't have it. My computer won't save the results so I could be getting mixed somehow. Why am I seemingly incpable of rnging mystery gifts in BW? Could someone link to a guide for that, preferably up to date that works with rng reporter 9.95? Does Pinapple seem to overpower the coconut flavor?

Yes, BW2 is supported in 9.96, and it's doable on retail. It's mostly the same, except Timer0 is more volatile and breeding is horribly broken (because of a bug in the game, not anything to do with RNG Reporter).

What min/max section is confusing you? It should fill in the ranges automatically when you select your game and DS type unless you're using a flashcart/emulator.
is there a thread for 4th gen cuaz i really don't want to ask questions in the wrong thread...if not is it okay to ask my question here?
This thread is for 3rd and 4th gen questions.

Yes it will fluctuate more. Use eon timer to start your game and you should be more consistent.
By "start your game" do you mean "boot it on the DS startup screen" or "click continue on the game menu"? I'm going to assume "boot it on the DS startup screen" because B/W seeded at the boot.

[...] breeding is horribly broken (because of a bug in the game, not anything to do with RNG Reporter).
bond697 created a code to fix that problem. probably the roms can be patched with it. he's a genius.

well, yes, too bad for original-carts-users. let's hope the games' developers will notice the problem and fix it for the versions for the rest of the world.

Wow that's pretty awful. Everyone: stick with BW1 abuse if at all possible.

He actually made a rom patch that fixes it. Even with the fix it's still more annoying to breed because they added a new RNG and changed how a few things work. Reporter doesn't properly support this new RNG yet and might not for a long time.

I see... Is dreamyard Lati@s abusable? Is it easily abusable?
It's one of the easier ones to abuse. Just know that the second you press right to start the animation it'll be generated. Also NPCs do mess up the RNG a little bit so use Chattots to figure out where you actually are.

Well, after a ton of calibration (like 45 captures and checks) I figured out that I get that 10F7 about 1/3 of the time with or without a timer. So I shot for it and got the right IVs on the first try.

Got a hex flawless Patrat with a lol PID on that ranch in the beginning of the game, so at least I know I can do it.

Yeah, probably not going to RNG too much at all in W2. Even with a timer, and I used to be dang good with a timer, I was still only around 1/3 on my most common Timer0.

Sigh. Could someone help me with my RNG?

I'm using 9.95 Beta.

I followed the instructions here exactly, but no matter how many times I RNG, I never get the right IVs (though I have gotten the exact same Pokemon repeatedly on multiple attempts, so at least I'm doing that right).

I have an Australian Pokemon White, am using a DSi original, and after calibrating, I got the following:

ActSec VCount Timer0 GxStat VFrame Seed
2 90 12BB 6 8 A314311A672A7327

Then, I went to the Time Finder, entered everything INCLUDING my ID and SID.

I entered the IV's I wanted:
(Max HP, Att, Def, Spe, anything in SpD and SpA), pressed "Generate" and got:

Seed: CD981EE3A88708A0
Frame: 1
HP: 31
Att: 31
Def: 31
SpA: 10
SpD: 25
Spe: 31
Hidden: Electric
Power: 49
Date/Time: 07/15/12 18:17:31
Timer0: 12BB
Keypresses: None

Ok, so I set my DSi's date to the 15th of July 2012, and set the time to 6PM, 17 minutes. I press 'A' to launch the game from the menu when my synched external clock reaches 29 seconds (31 - Actual Seconds). The game launches, I do NOT turn C-Gear on, I use Sweet Scent without moving, a Tangella appears.

Now, I catch the Tangella aaaaaaaaaand wrong IV's. I have tried this repeatedly, and have caught that exact Tangella each time.

Could someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong?
