http://www.smogon.com/dp/pokemon/aggron I Tested out three Aggron sets and here they are. I decided thats its better to wait for the set/s to get approved before worrying about stuff like Opinion, OO etc
Set Name: Ubers Choice Bander
Aggron @ Choice Band
Ability: Rock Head
EVs: 124 HP/252 Atk/132 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Head Smash
- Earthquake
- Low Kick
- Ice Punch
Why this set deserves to be on-site:
o Unlike The Previous Sets, this set Aims to do the Most Immediate damage.
o IcePunch Nails Garchomp switchins as well as damages Groudon
o Earthquake 2hko’s Steels, while Low kick OHKO’s Dialga
o Speed Ev’s allow it to outspeed 8 speed scizor, Blissy and other slower Ubers
o If using LO, thunder wave is recommended in order to paralyze non ground type switchins
o Greatly appreciates T-Wave support
Teammates and Counters:
o Groudon- Can Take all hits with relative Ease (Bar a Banded Ice Punch) and respond with a STAB eq
o Wobbuffet- While Aggron can set up on its own on physical attacks, or weaker/resisted special attacks, wobbuffet makes Aggrons Job setting up easier. IMO Wobbuffet is a must.
o Pokemon That Lure Groudon: Mixquaza is a good choice due to physical Variants being the most common sort of Raquaza outside of the Lead position. In addition to beating groudon, it can also weaken steel types that are not OHKO’d by EQ. The Same goes for MixDialga. Groudon Often switches into MixDialga assuming it is the BU variant.
o Tyranitar makes a worthwhile partner due to sandstream. Aggron benefits from the Special Defense Boost that SS brings. (Not sure if I should mention Hippo as a partner due to it not having an analysis).
o Pokemon that spread paralysis make good partners. Jirachi in particular due to body slam paralyzing through Groudon and Garchomp. If not using a Sandstream User for Aggrons Spec. Def, Groudon and Kyogre can also spread Twave efficiently.
o
Aggrons CB Head Smash vs.
o 252/224 Timid Mewtwo 75% - 88.2%
o 240/244 Modest Kyogre 76.3% - 89.8%
o 28/228 Calm Wobbuffet 76.7% - 90.3%
o 0/0 Giratina-O 81.2% - 95.9%
o 248/248 Giratina 45.5% - 53.7%
Aggrons CB Ice Punch vs.
252/32 Groudon 43.6% - 51.5%
112/8 Groudon 48.8% - 57.5%
4/0 Groudon 52.6% - 62%
4/0 Garchomp 139.7% - 165.4%
I also theorymoned a support set (it has access to a decent amount of support moves) but I dismissed the idea because of its Low Special Defense and 4x weakness to Fighting and Ground. I also think that Aggron may potentially have value on a Trick Room team but I have never tested it out due to never having Used Trick Room. I also Thought about possibly a mixed aggron with solarbeam to take down Groudon but a max neutral SolarBeam deals 40.6% - 48%, worse than a CB Ice Punch.
