AOT Round 5 (Loser's Bracket) - Solid Gold vs Zarator

Gold

---->

Aegislash (Gaol)[MF]
Nature: Brave
Type:
Ghost/Steel

Ghost: Ghost STAB; immune to the effects of full trapping moves and the Arena Trap, Magnet Pull, and Shadow Tag abilities. Ghost types can switch out while affected by a partial trapping move, but they will be damaged every action by their effect.
Steel: Steel STAB; immune to Sandstorm damage, immune to Poison/Toxic status, but can be corroded specifically by Acid and Acid Spray, making them susceptible to Poison-type attacks and Poison/Toxic Status.

Abilities:

Stance Change:

Type: Passive

This Pokemon changes its stance from Shield Forme to Blade Forme when ordered to use a damaging attack (regardless of that attack's success or failure to execute), and will revert to Shield Forme when using the move King's Shield. Non-damaging attacks will retain the Pokemon's current Forme at the time of use.

Oh my god I made it on time! That was... way too close. Let me catch my breath for a bit.

Okay. Good now. Welcome! This is Liz.. and... This is AOT! Loser's bracket! Today we have Gold and Zarator battling. Lets see their teams...

Zarator brought.. Goodra, Haxorus, Latias, and Deoxys. Very cute team, lots of dragons, and a few psychics. I need to get a Latias, so freaking cute oml.

Gold brought an Aegislash, Greninja, Mawile, and Volkraken. Not as cute, but still solid, lots of very powerful Pokemon.

I'm gonna get coffee while you guys get started.

Ping! (Heads is Gold.)

"I'd always thought that "Here be Dragons" was just an old cartographer's term, but looking at the opposing lineup here, I'd be inclined to think otherwise, haha..."

"Greninja, old friend, I feel that your area of expertise will be most useful to start us off strong here. Let us begin."

Sui-Ren @ Rare Candy

"I feel like I'm trying a new genre, here"

Pokemon Trainer Shauntal sent out Lendys (Haxorus M)!
Lendys has Rare Candy!

Dragon Claw - Dual Chop - Dragon Claw
If Greninja is under the effects of Double Team when you would act, replace your respective action with Aerial Ace and push your actions back
If Greninja is in the evasive stage of a D/E move when you would act, replace your respective action with Dragon Dance (the first time) or Swords Dance (any further time), pushing actions back everytime
If Greninja uses Haze and you are faster, replace your respective action with Taunt and push your actions back

"While I'd love to trade leads, Greninja has too much potential in this fight to be wasted by doing so. We'll use preservative actions instead."

Shauntal leads with Haxorus, an unorthodox pick for a Ghost expert, but nonetheless, the dragon radiates sheer power and ferocity. When it comes up against a Greninja, it gets even more angry, powering its attacks. The frog throws up a mat to block an attack, which the dragon shreds to pieces. Lendys continues its onslaught and claws, slashes, and pummels the frog into submission. However, an icy blast from the frog is proving equally powerful, though Sui-Ren flees, which seems like a wise decision.

My LoA, while worded incredibly poorly, was applicable in the days before I posted. In other words, I posted at my earliest opportunity. While I would prefer that you rescind the warning, I will respect the decision to keep it in place.

Not to beat a dead horse, but I wrote up my orders ahead of time. I simply didn't have time to post them by the time it was reffed.

Mawile @ Mawilite

[Mega Evolve] Play Rough - Ice Punch - Play Rough
If Haxorus is under the effects of a successful p/e move when you would act, use Stealth Rock on the first instance and push back. Always Mega Evolve a1.
If d/e move outside of a combination and Haxorus did not suspend a d/e move on the previous action, use Magnet Rise on the first instance, and Sucker Punch on the second , and Stealth orck on the third, pushing back in each case. Always Mega Evolve a1.
If Counter, use Fairy Wind on the first and third instances, and Icy Wind on the second, pushing back in each case. Always Mega Evolve a1.

(Although I couldn't find anything in the handbook that would indicate such, if my second sub is illegal, please consider my orders to use the following instead:

If Haxorus uses aan unsuspended d/e move outside of a combination, use Counter on the first and second instances, and Stealth Rock on the third, pushing back in each case. Always Mega Evolve a1.)

Hungry for more opponents, and fighting its third combatant in a row, Haxorus prepares for an onslaught of Earthquakes and Dragon Claws. However, Volkraken has other plans, and sends blue and black flames at the dragon to give it a nasty burn! The pain makes Haxorus deal less damage, but Volkraken is still feeling the hurt from that Earthquake. Using its newfound Binding Band, Volkraken uses a powerful Whirlpool to choke out the dragon, and then hides underwater to avoid an attack. Haxorus dances a bit in victory, but seems to be celebrating too early, and is swiftly knocked out by the Dive.

zarator sends out a new Pokemon
S0L1D G0LD orders
zarator orders

"Not bad, but this story is far from over!"

Pokemon Trainer Shauntal sent out Mystra (Goodra F)!
Mystra has Expert Belt!

Well, I can't say that I wouldn't have preferred Dive not to crit, but I can make this work too.

Switching to

Mawile @ Mawilite

Counterswitch?

Well, this is definitely not going to be my most cohesive (or smartest) set of orders.

Play Rough - Play Rough - Play Rough
If Bide, start action chain Toxic - Stealth Rock - Play Rough .
If Counter, use Stealth Rock on the first instance, use Toxic on the second instance, and use Torment on the third instance, pushing back in each case.
If Acid Armor and Goodra has a Defense stage of <0 and Zarator's field is not under the effect of Stealth Rock, use Stealth Rock on the first instance, use Toxic on the second instance, and use Double Team (1 Clone) on the third, pushing back in each case.

Fire Blast - Fire Blast - Fire Blast
If Mawile is at 49 HP or less when you are to act on A3, replace your respective action with Fire Blast + Fire Blast (combo)

With Mawile and Goodra duking it out in a fresh bout, glistening and unharmed on either side, the fairy looks to have an immediate adavantage; it presses forward and strikes the gooey Dragon with playful, but painful bouts. Goodra is reeling from the powerful attacks. However, the waves of fire it spews forth are nothing to scoff at either, and leaves the Mawile with some serious charring. After noticing a weakened spot on the Mega Mawile, from a critical hit it had taken before, Goodra charges itself up for a devastating attack... aiming right for that sweet spot! Then, it releases a massive fireball that heads right for Mawile! However, the intense attack missed its goo-covered mark, leaving a small crater behind her. Goodra is left exhausted, unable to move, and on its last legs. This sport of bad luck may prove pivotal...
