Okay then, I thought I best provide an update on what is going on for this round and the following ones.
- This round has 19 days remaining before completion. This means in 9 days time matches will have their DQ shortened to 36 hours. In 19 days any incomplete matches will be called.
- Players may claim their LC team member if they completed their match this round at the end of the round when I post the results. Not before. I will tag players who are able to claim a mon in that post and they should link it in their relevant prize claim. Players who have not yet been eliminated from the tournament can not claim their Pokemon at this stage, and will be able to claim once eliminated.
- Speaking of elimination, an update on that. We had 24 players at the beginning of this round and half of them will still be eliminated leaving 12 players moving on to round 3. This will be decided initially by any player who was disqualified or forfeited in round 2 being eliminated. This is regardless of their round 1 results, so stick to DQ and finish your match this round. Then any player with a record of 2-0 from the first two rounds will automatically proceed. Players who finished the first two rounds with a record of 0-2 will then be eliminated. Finally the remaining spots of the 12 available in Round 3 will be filled from those who finished with 1-1 records. HP totals or any other quantitative measure will not be used to do this. DQs, forfeits and whatnot means this was an ill thought out method of ranking players and from now on out ignore it ever existing. Instead a panel which includes myself, co-host Dogfish44 and some others yet to be determined will look at the performance of these players and vote on who played best. These votes will be tallied to determine who moves on.
- Round 3 will see the commencement of a 12 person single elimination structure, with brackets being made to determine the run of the rest of the tournament. In keeping with the initial idea of rewarding higher ranked players these brackets will be structured to those with 2-0 records from the provisional rounds will not be able to face each other until as late in the tournament as possible. Round 3 will see 6 matches forming the quarter finals, Round 4 will have 3 matches as semi finals with these 3 winners moving onto a 3 man finals series to determine the order of the top 3. Any further questions should be directed to me, but hopefully this is rather straightforward.
Hopefully this gives people the information they need as to how to play out the remainder of this round.
