Athenodoros

Official Smogon Know-It-All
Okay, then. All we need is a ref. 2v2 Doubles for anyone who can't be bothered to look back a page and feels awesome.

Anyway, I'm also looking for another weakmon battle:
3v3 Triples.
1 Day DQ (2 for refs if necessary)
2/5 Recover/Chill
Arena: A magic room. At all times, everyone is floating in space, and in fact there is no ground to speak of, or even a down to orient oneself. This means that moves like Earthquake are completely nonsensical, as are Surf and such because there is no water or anything else at the beginning. Pokemon can, however, propel themelves with for moves like Take Down or Wild Charge, although the lowered ability to do so renders them less effective.

Who's up for it?

I'll ref your Triples when it goes up, Athenodoros (as suicidal as a Triples with a 1 Day DQ sounds, I need quick cash). When someone accepts, PM teams.

Survival of the fittest
Strongmon Battle FE only
1+1 v 1+1 Tag Team.

Ref chooses arena
1 Day DQ (2 for refs if necessary)
3 Chills

6 vs 6 singles
36 hour DQ, 3 days for ref
1 recover, 5 chills
Arena: Rafting challenge

The battle takes place in/above a river filled with rapids and moving rather quickly. For combatants without access to the levitate command/ability or flying type (swimming mons are also exempt), they will be inside of a raft they must use to navigate the river. One raft is 100 feet ahead of the other. Each action, the Pokemon has the option of paddling to decrease the distance by 50 feet, or increase the distance by 50 feet. Additionally, each Pokemon can be knocked into the river by a suitable force (up to ref's disgression). If in the water, they must expend 10 energy and an action to get back on the raft. Or, they can fight in the water. However, all projectile/ranged attacks (close-range attacks normally would not work) only have a 50% chance of hitting due to the difficulties in aiming and keeping on the surface in the fast water. Additionally, every round there is a 20% chance of rapids appearing at the end, giving a 70% chance of knocking either side out of the raft, and dealing 10 damage to any Pokemon in the water.

Complicated enough for you?

Kay, how aboot this.

OPEN CHALLENGE:

2v2 Dubs
2 Rec/Chillax
2 Day Dairy Queen

Arena is the inside of a snowglobe, with it's water drained. There is a plastic house in the middle, and a mountain on the wall. Things that can climb well/stick to things can squiggle up the walls all they want. No actual snow. No bonuses for any type. Dig can't be used very well, but can be used purely as an attack, no evasive digs. Flying is limited in room, but possible.
Reffing this PM teams, give you a VM if you don't see this

3v3 Triples
2 day DQ
2R/5C
Unevolved pokémon, but capable of evolving, only

Arena: A cliffside, with a waterfall off of it. Any pokémon that fall off of the edge and don't have some form of flight/levitation (ref's discretion) take 20 HP damage. The water enables the use of all water-type moves, and there are enough rocks in the stream for moves such as Rock Slide, but there is no Digging, and an Earthquake has a 25% chance of collapsing the cliff, forcing everyone to fall and battle below. The ground has the river continuing from the waterfall, but Dig and Earthquake are usable there.

OPEN CHALLENGE
Still open, if anybody is interested.

I'm up for this.
no items, one ability, switches allowed (not like one can switch in 3v3 triples anyways :V)

3v3 Singles
2 Day DQ
Arena: Island
NFEs only

The area is an island where there are palm trees in every corner. Nothing special right? Well there's a twist. Every turn the weather shifts (The Cycle being: Sun, Sandstorm, Hail, Rain). The water surrounding the island changes depending on the weather: in Rain it is a flash flood and Pokemon may trip, causing the next move to fail, in hail the water freezes and Pokemon can walk on the ice, just watch out for the spots were the ice is weak, you might fall. In Sandstorm, Pokemon without having an ability that increases accuracy will get the accuracy of their attacks reduced by 10%. In Sun the sand becomes extremely hot, so all non-fire types will have 7 damage taken off if they stay still. Note that the weather cannot be changed by moves (Rain Dance, Sandstorm etc.) But Pokemon that change the effect of weather / the weather by their abilities (Cloud Nine Pokemon, Sandstream Pokemon) can still have the weather as whatever they want.

BIG THINGS TO REMEMBER:

  • Island with palm trees everwhere
  • every turn the weather shifts (The cycle: sun, sandstorm, hail, rain)
  • effects commence depending on the weather.
  • Weather changing moves won't work
  • Pokemon with abilities that effect the weather will still work, though.
Anyone want to do this?

So, I have 3 free battle slots. Time to issue some challenges.

4v4 Doubles
2 Day DQ (3 for ref)
2 Recoveries/8 Chills
Arena: Planet Namek

Native home of the Namekians, the surface is largely covered in water, with many small islands scattered across the planet. The Namekians are a peaceful race that dislikes violence. At the end of each round, there is a 15% chance that a Namekian will come across the battle. They will tend to the wounded, healing 15 HP and restoring 5 Energy to all Pokemon in the battle. At the end of each round, there is a 5% chance that Frieza will come and destroy an island that has a Pokemon on it. All Pokemon on that island will take 20 Damage and will fall into the water. They can choose to stay in the water and fight, or use an action to swim to the nearest island and get back on land. Non-Water-type Pokemon will have a much harder time moving and fighting in water (how much is up to the ref).

4v4 Doubles
2 Day DQ (3 for Ref)
2 Recoveries/8 Chills
Arena: Magma Cavern

A sea of magma sits beneath the battlers. At the end of each round, there is a 10% chance that the dragon will roar, causing stalactites to drop, dealing 15 Damage to 2 Pokemon. Only Fire-types can dig because of the extreme heat. Earthquake and Magnitude are allowed, but any Pokemon hit by the attack has a 50% chance of their platform being destroyed and they fall into the lava, taking a 12 BP Fire attack coming from 4 SpA. Although there is no water, Surf may be used but it becomes a Fire type attack.

2+2v2+2 Tag Doubles
2 Day DQ (3 for Ref)
2 Recoveries/4 chills per player

First to accept will choose Abilities
Second to accept will choose Items
Third to accept will choose Switch
Ref will choose Arena (that isn't the Tournament Arena)

OK, so, I'm going to be out of dragonboy's challenge and I'll take the 2+2v2+2 doubles

2 abilities

oh, and can we do all NFEs?

hey ill jump in on the tag battle as well! Im down for the NFE if others want to do it as well, but i can go either way on it depending on what others want. Anyway, well go with no items.

Paradoxus, I accept your 3v3 challenge, assuming it's still open.

Switch=KO

Guess we need a ref now, right?

I'll ref the multi-battle.
Arena: Mount Baldy
The top of Philmont Scout ranch is a very brutal environment. No water or moisture exists in the air, and there's a fire ban in effect, not that the low oxygen would permit fire anyways. Therefore, Fire and Water moves will not work. Also, the wind is blowing fast enough that no weather can actually stay in effect and flying moves will have their base power raised by two. For simplicity's sake, you can not be knocked off the mountain, or leave the summit area (100 yards x 15 yards).

Additionally, for balance purposes Danmantincan and Paradoxus will face Ragonoralex and Gerrard. Due to the lack of an objection to the NFE statement, and the imbalance in time in ASB between players, this will be an NFE battle... and if you don't have two NFE's, at least send something weaker, please.

PM teams.
