It almost goes without saying that Leftovers is the item of choice. The point of this set is to rack up Moody boosts while wearing the opponent down with Toxic, which heavily relies on Bibarel executing a Substitute-Protect chain for as long as possible.

First of all i had not meet the reqs (i'm at 1790 ± 37). Anyway i have all this replays using the following bibarel:

    Bibarel
    Ability: Moody
    Trait: Jolly
    Item: Leftovers
    EVs:
    252hp/4SpDef/252Sp/
    Moveset
    -Substitute
    -Protect
    -Dive
    -Toxic

Here are some replays (some quite long):

Personally i dont think moody is broken in any way... it's just annoying since it's used in a defensive manner (sub/protect) but it can be countered in many ways, just as mentioned above: perish song/roar (ok can fail if evasion is up, but who would let a moody user stay on the field for too long?)/haze/taunt

I always use this bibarel after some of the usual checks are crippled with a burn (dialga/ferro) and i always use ferro/forretress/any other defensive pokemon as a setup fodder for bibarel (which is a free sub at least). I choose Dive over waterfall since dive gives me a free turn of more moody setup if i outspeed and also allows toxic to rack off more damage
