Oh yeah shadestep is gonna run this now, it's been fun hosting this every week but I think the project is in need of a new person running the thread to keep things fresh. This also means I can participate in building every week so I'll be sure to do that when I can c:

wow kangaspikes, so much innovation!
well, pretty classic kangaspikes framework, Kangaskhan is the main things of the team as he take a huge advantage of the entry hazards, especially the toxic spikes due to Fake Out. Electivire here act as a wallbreaker. Taunt is here used to stop some defog such as Skuntank. Garbodor is a very important member of the team, as he can set up easily spikes and toxic spikes to help kangaskhan, electivire, mismagius and floatzel to pressure the opponent in addition to be an amazing fighting check. Mismagius act here as a stallbreaker AND an anti spin/defog, Mismagius also take an advantage of toxic spikes, and can burn some mons before toxic spikes or some flying/lum berry things. Floatzel is the revenge killer of the team, since Sceptile is gone, Floatzel become an amazing speed tiers as he can outspeed things such as tauros, archeops, scyther & cie. Steelix is here as rocks setter, and, i've noticed the team was pretty weak to normal and flying type, in addition, Steelix provides a good offensive pressure with Heavy slam that can pressure mega audino who can be annoying for the team.

Quite a difficult core to build around as these wallbreakers don't contribute much defensively, so I thought I'd go for a more offensive team. Standard Silk Scarf Kanga does most of the work while a specially based Electivire fills out holes in coverage with its good movepool. Garbodor is here because KangaSpikes is the meta, and I went with an offensive set with Explosion so I have an emergency check to dangerous wallbreakers that might come in on it. Golurk provides Stealth Rock, does some spinblocking in its downtime, and hits things really hard with a Life Orb set. I went with a Jolly nature as Life Orb gives it more than enough power already and the extra Speed somewhat compensates for my lack of switchins to things like Aurorus, as they usually stay in and try to KO. SubToxic Mantine is used as a stallbreaker / secondary status platform to make sure Kangaskhan has extra residual damage to work with and the team doesn't get wrecked too hard by stall, while also luring in Electric-type attacks for Electivire to switch into. Finally Rotom acts as a secondary spinblocker, general fast-mon, another stall check with Trick, and more status with Will-O-Wisp, while potentially being able to clean late game with a boosted Scarf Hex against statused opponents.

tfw i go through building a whole team and it has 5/6 mons the same as erisia @_@

anyways, even though our teams look very similar, i think that my sets are a little more optimized (js D:). Its basic kangaspikes w/ subtox mantine just like the team above, although i went w/ scarf mesprit as my cleaner since it baits in lix to u-turn on and give mantine a free switch and it provides healing wish support for kang / e-vire. although magmortar looks like a problem, it can't come in on anything and it gets outsped and KO'd by every mon except mantine (see: jolly garbodor). the golurk spread is some convoluted spread i made w/ SG for SPL semis and it does important stuff that i cant remember.

it was fun doing this project again, i definitely wanna do more of it. maybe next time ill get my team in early so it doesnt look like i copied tho haha

with a wopping 3 Votes, erisia wins this week! congrats :D

this mon has been pretty hyped up recently because Sceptile left the tier, and the 361 speed tier is a lot more open now, only being able to get outrun by Swellow pretty much!
I'm talking about Floatzel! this mon has amazing strong moves going for it, as well as a nice ability that lets it come in on weak scald-users etc!

post whatever set you want, you'll have until fridaynight to post it!

e: shadowtags did haunter recently so i decided to do floatzel instead, thanks for noticing bolts <3

Here's a pretty fun build with bulk up pass Floatzel that I found going through one my old pastebin teamdumps. Vileplume and Miltank make a sturdy defensive core with CM xatu while Rp Rhydon and Choice Banded Hariyama make for great recipients of bulk up boosts. Ice Punch is an option over taunt but I find taunt to be the better filler move on both the special set and the set I'm using. Concept is pretty simple, get Floatzel in as often as possible. Since people expect to chew a hit from the special variant this gives you a chance to pivot around with baton pass or begin setting up.

rip.. big thanks to Shadowtags for your suggestion, you're the real MVP here

Since this Electric dog just dropped yesterday, I assume most of you have started building with it to try it out for yourself! I'm talking about..
Manectric!

I hope to see some variation in this week since everybody's experimenting with it, and trying out different team-mates, archetypes, etc.!

You may post your team until fridaynight!

Manectric benefits greatly from having pokemon worn down so it can easily clean up late game, I decided hazard stack complimented Manectric better than most team archtypes so that's what I decided to build around. So after Manectric, I decided to use the basic Kangaspikes core which is Steelix/Garbodor/Kangaskhan. Kangaskhan being able to build up poison damage with fake out and hit incredibly hard with double edge while Custap Steelix provides a last ditch surprise, preferably against pokemon like barbaracle, archeops, tauros etc. Lanturn provides a nice soft check to almost all fire types limiting them from spamming their stabs. Haunter rounds off the team providing a nice revenge killer and also being an offensive switch-in to ground types. Haunter also stops me from getting swept by cm psychics to an extent.

So, i have built hazard stack shed before this drop so i tried to do a Volt-Turn with Manectric. First think i thought about was Manec + Sceptile. It's a rlly nice volt turn core and it covers manectric's only weakness, ground. Then, i knew i had to add a ground killer and an spinner and Cryogonal was a nice option since he can spin, he is a fast mon and it has a really decent atksp so he can kill many ground types easily. Also, Manectric helps him with steelix running Overheat, that OHKOs steelix before rocks (sturdy imo). So... at this moment Magmortar fucked me up and instead of bringing Hariyama i wanted used Regirock, who also helped me about flying spam and with swellow that pretty much killed my team. So next it was Lanturn or Samurott, i needed a Water type. I decided to use sam not to repeat type with manectric, lanturn can volt switch too, so he was a good option anyways but i liked the idea to use sam and getting momentum for him to spam Hydro Pumps. Finally i decided to complete the team with Mesprit Bold. Floatzel is a threat for the team, if he is the special set. My main answer is to T-Wave with Mesprit, if he is bulk up waterfall, mesp can deal with him too. (idk if i should put lanturn instead of samurott, but i wanted an offensive team so yeah haha. I know this is a bit random team i wanted to build something different because i didn't have any volt turn and i didn't really know how to build it and i got this team. It doesn't work bad, but maybe it needs more testing, you can also help me with it if u want even if this isn't an RMT :P)

So when I first think of Manectric, it reminds me of Volt-Turn. That's what I decided to build my team off of. Looking at noticeable flaws to Manectric: Ground-Weak and very frail. I wanted to pair it with a bulky rocker that has an ground immunity and also has access to some form of momentum to help with Volt-Turn, so I went with Mesprit. Mesprit provides a pretty solid check to Fighting and Psychic moves, has access to Levitate and Rocks, and also has U-Turn. Psychic to hit as hard as possible with its strongest, most reliable STAB and signal beam for Malamar and potentially other Psychic mons. Next up, I wanted something that is fully able to utilize Volt-Turn and has amazing wallbreaking potential, so I went with Primeape. Primeape hits pretty hard stacked with the Choice Band and has access to U-Turn along with strong STAB. Edgequake is perfect coverage for it as it allows Primeape to have barely any switch ins. I wanted another strong wallbreaker to come in after Volt-Turning and also a soft water check, so I went with Shiftry. Shiftry has access to strong Dark STAB, including priority and broken move Knock Off. It also has a last resort Defog if hazards become too much of an issue. I added Mag because it helps the team by spin blocking and spreading around dual status, allowing my team of hard wallbreakers to put in loads of work. After seeing how weak I was to fire and grass types (mainly lilligant), I added Magmortar as a check with evs to creep other creepings mags (:P). Did pretty well with this on ladder, went like 5-0 on one of my decently high alts. Feel free to pm me with suggestions or w/e, I'm open to em!

Here is a team i've build today when i've noticed Manectric's drop. It's pretty classic, Manectric+Scyther for a pretty cool volt turn core, Rhydon as an offensive Rock Setter that can absorb some fire move for Scyther as well as attract water type for Manectric/Ludicolo. Jynx is here as a revenge killer as with a choice scarf he is pretty fast and can deal a huge amount of damages against a team not prepared. Skuntank is here as my defoger as well as a ghost/dark resist and Ludicolo is here as a second win condition that can help a lot the team especially against Lanturn who can be annoying for Scyther/Manec forcing the switch. When i've build this team, i wanted a team that can impose his own rhythm pretty quickly during a match. Due to the cool speed of the team it's pretty close to what i was searching when i was building.
