Dugtrio is a really simple check for Drapion, as thanks to its ability, Arena Trap, it is able to always kill it with an Earthquake. However, duggy can only act as a check, as both Knock Off and Aqua Tail kills duggy due to its bad defenses. EQ also knock it down low, so it shouldnt be switching in on drap.

Yeah this thing is about as good of a counter you can get. You're immune to poison jab, resist knock off (rip 4x dark resist) and get an attack boost from it, and you outspeed and can magnet rise before drapion hits you with +2 eq. If drap is running aqua tail, it can't even 2hko with +2 aqua tail. Drap also doesn't 2hko with eq on the switchin. After a magnet rise drap is a free swords dance for cobalion.

Standard tank Rhyperior can live a +2 Knock Off or Earthquake, and retaliate back with an Earthquake, which is a clean OHKO on Drapion. However, it is not a counter as Drapion can choose to run Aqua Tail which at +2 leaves Rhyperior basically dead. Rhyperior also has no recovery so after taking several hits it well eventually be too worn down to check Drapion, especially if it loses Leftovers to a Knock Off.

Mega Lix is one of the most dangerous threats to SD Drapion considering its one of the most common mons in this metagame, able to fit on literally any play style. It has two primary sets, Curse and offensive Rocks, both of which are solid checks to SDrapion. Note that this set lacks recovery so Healing Wish and Wish are required to check Drapion repetitively in one game.

Weezing is able to eat up any one of Drapion's hits at +2. It resists Poison Jab, Immune to Earthquake and Aqua Tail will not do that much. The only hit that Weezing will be taking heavy damage from is a boosted Knock Off. It can even take a +4 knock off from full. It can then proceed to burn it twice with Will-O-Wisp to cripple its attacks. However, it is only a check as Weezing is very passive against Drapion and can only either set up Toxic Spikes, which Drapion can switch out and then proceed to switch back in to absorb it or to slowly damage it with flamethrower.

definitely agreeing with galbia about slashing aqua tail, as it does certain things such as invalidate rhyperior as a solid check, make subsd cobalion a better check and probably some other stuff my brain is not picking up on. might post a check soon if i think of one good enough

While not as good as Quagsire in terms of countering Drapion and Cobalion as well as Doublade, i recon, Seismitoad is still a pretty decent answer to Drapion with a physically defensive spread thanks to its resistance to Poison Jab and decent all around physical bulk. It is almost guaranteed to avoid being 2HKOd by +2 Knock Off unless Spikes are up and KOs Drapion pretty much after any previous damage. However Sniper is a thing and can potentially fuck all over Seismitoad.

Piloswine is an unconventional lead, but its typing and bulk thanks with Eviolite allow it to easily tank Poison Jab and Earthquake from Drapion even with a +2 Attack boost without investments in Defense. Though it has to be wary when switch in, as a +2 Knock Off will easily take its Eviolite off and easily 2HKO it. It still prevents Drapion from setting up and is able to handle it if it doesn't have Attack boosts and at +2 if healthy. Earthquake from Piloswine 1HKOs Drapion most of the time, but thanks to its niche which consists in also carrying a priority in Ice Shard, it is able to deal with it without risks if played well.

This is just the set I like using, but Qwilfish has plenty of different options like Thunder Wave, Destiny Bond, and Pain Split. Because of its typing and Intimidate, it doesn't take much damage from Durant's attacks. Qwilfish can also threaten to burn Durant with Scald. However, Qwilfish is only a check since with Life Orb, Durant 3HKOs after one boost and 2HKOs after two while Qwilfish only 3HKOs with Scald. Can't really switch in and win, but definitely beats it 1v1.

The reason it does not handle Life Orb Durant is because a boosted Superpower will OHKO Mega Camerupt.

So yeah Weezing has only a low chance to be 2HKO by LO Iron Head, while it takes little from Crunch / Superpower. It can switch in on Hone Claws and still beat Durant by living a +1 Iron Head. Flamethrower is also cleanly an OHKO back. Pain Split is helpful to keep Weezing healthy.

So you can't switch in, but activating Unburden is a cinch, especially if Durant manages to get the HC off beforehand (so the attack doesn't miss; if it does, Endure will probably fail next turn and you're screwed). After Unburden, Lee hits 446 speed, well eclipsing Durant's 348. Then:

+1 252+ Atk Hitmonlee Reversal (200 BP) vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Durant: 459-541 (178.5 - 210.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Obviously, this works best when Lee's own counters and revenge killers are gone, but worst case scenario, you've gotten rid of Durant.
