So allegedly, the latest issue of Famitsu has the Black and White review... and they gave it the 15th perfect score in the history of the magazine.

Now, keep this in mind: 9 of 15 perfects have come in the last 3 years, including Bayonetta, Brawl and a visual novel you've never heard of. Take this with an extreme grain of salt.

Famitsu is a pretty corrupt and sucky magazine, so I don't really care. Though I personally want to give this game a 10/10 myself.

The dragon duo is based on the yin and yang. I see it really hard for it to have a third member in the duo. Unless I am mistaken. I do hope it is like G/S/C in which you only have a dou instead of a trio.

Edit: Man you guys are quick one time were talking about something the next minute it's something else...

Well in the last 3 years they really loosen up. I'm not suprized there giving another game perfect.

Then again, in the last 4 years, we had three main Pokémon games (DP, Plat, HGSS), and all of them, iirc, had 35-37/40 scores on Famitsu. Meaning that this game does seem to be... perfect, compared to the others.

And while I think Famitsu is being too lenient with their scores, 40/40s come to games which are "perfect" for their genre.

Famitsu's really loosened their belt on what's a perfect game. Before Brawl there were only six games that got 40/40. Makes me wonder why in fact Platinum or Heart Gold and Soul Silver (arguably the finest Pokemon games since RBY or GSC) didn't even get the 39/40.

Didn't they already display a pokemons stat page with no noticeable changes other than aesthetics? And wouldn't we have heard something, with all the playtesters? It doesn't seem like the type of thing they could keep hidden for so long.

If the stats are simply calculated in a different way, then we would have no idea because these are new Pokemon. All of our calculations could be completely off on the new Pokemon.

Me being a Slowpoke, apparently :P
Has this been seen before?
Anyone care to translate the very very likely fake?

EDIT: Fixed, sorry about that -.-; [Forgot I couldn't hotlink to 4chan (not familiar with the site, avoided it til recently)]

Aside for it being blurry and looking awful and not considering where I found it.. it is new at least (as far to my knowledge). I don't recall even hearing about anything like this.

It says "4chan.org".
that was confirmed fake about a month or more ago...

it wouldn't surprise me if the 3rd legendary is a oddball from the Resh&Zek.
Sucks it couldn't be a fire/electric dragon....( since no pkmn has 3 types) if it isn't ice type a fire/electric would be interesting just give it a nice ability and good move pool to fight of ground&water attacks and slap a nice dragon like appearance on it would be good enough... >_< only in my dreams.

My bad, must have missed the news. Never saw this thing before, sorry.
lol im no one special xD

ugh I was about to post a scan from a famistu magazine? I think it just showed a few parts of the game and the starters sprites up close... (smugleaf kinda looks P.O) but since serebii is being porn bombed i guess i cant find it anymore...

I don't mind ev's... it's iv's I hate. Throw away all the lameass rnging or hacking to get the perfect poke, keep the customisationing of stats.

After trolling for months, I guess I will put my two cents in.

The base stat changes seem like an interesting theory, though I'm going to hold off on believing it until I see it. Though, if real, I see how it could mess up transfers of old Pokemon. However, as long as they kept the flavor of the Pokemon intact, then all the work on training it properly should be okay. (Such as keeping attackers attackers, defenders defenders and so forth). I can't see them doing anything drastic like turning Hitmonchan into a Special Attacker or Jynx into a physical attacker (I know those are obvious, but I'm just using them as examples), so investments still might be fairly intact.

Speaking of Jynx, new evolutions for her, Tauros, and Khangaskhan are also iffy in my book. I thought it was confirmed 149 all new Pokemon (pre-National)... so for these people to find them, they would have had to beaten the game, transferred in said Pokemon, and just happen to figure out how they evolved?? I guess, hacking is an option as well. Although, rumors of a Tauros evolution go WAY back, and I also vaguely remember the creator supposedly saying that evolution lines of previous lines would be finished. So maybe it is 149 new in game + x amount of new post national. That's a lot of new Pokemon. I can't picture a Jynx evo in my mind though... She's already an adult looked Humanshape female. I can't see her losing her Humanshape form, also. Maybe unless she looks old, but that would probably kill her speed, which would render her even more useless.

And for the new cat: A "No Luck" ability would be cool. Nullifies any chance of a secondary effect happening against you by the opponent (unless it happens 100% of the time). So basically, no flinch-hax by the likes of Jirachi used against you. As well as Thunder now has a 0% chance to paralyze. It would be an F.U. to people looking to abuse the new Rainbow thingy. ("What does this mean?"). Could be cool and give it it's own little niche.

Things I would like to see/would be interesting to see:
I always thought Pursuit (albeit pretty balanced already) should or could fail if the person fleeing is faster than the pursuiter. If speed stat is really reaction stat, it makes sense, because the pursuiter didn't react fast enough.

Everyone says Poison needs a boost offensively, but I really don't want to see them mess around with the type chart. (I already have a hard enough time remembering it all). Therefore, it would be interesting if say poison type attacks do 1.5x - 2x more damage on Pokemon that have been poisoned. Good poison type attacks aren't thrown around that much (I don't believe) other than toxic, so only real poison types I think would be able to take advantage of this. 2x more might be broken taking STAB into account, but it might give it an offensive boost a little, while making sense.

I suppose that could go with fire hurting burned Pokemon and electric hurting paralyzed pokemon more, but I wouldn't be for those at all. I think their secondary effects are good enough. Though ice hurting frozen Pokemon more is a possibility.

Hail, I think, will get a boost, just because of the boosts that Sandstorm got last gen. I'm thinking it will be defense if anything.

And I hope float is false. I don't want another water HM. Surf/Waterfall/Dive drove me crazy in RSE.

Finally, people complain because of rehashing of ideas this gen. Well, with no old Pokemon pre-National dex, there are a lot of roles to be filled. We of course will need the standards met for beginning routes, caves, water, etc. Not every Pokemon can be or will be badass/competitively viable, as awesome as it would be if they all were. I do agree that the ones shown to us have been more on what appear to be "cutesy/novelty" (Tabunne looks like it will be the Skitty of this gen), I think they have kept the huge powerhouses hidden for us to enjoy. I'd rather be surprised by something badass, rather than Emonga (which I must have regardless of it evolves).

And I'm not even commenting on starter evos. I have a headache just thinking of the arguments I read. (Though, I will say, that Wotter will most likely be my starter)

Sorry for the length, but there's been a lot of discussion I have been thinking about and this is my first post.

-Cheers.

Weird, I hadn't even considered that float could be water. Didn't seem right considering surf does the same thing. I assumed float would be used like in Final Fantasy, to hover above the ground to avoid a harsh floor or get over a gap of air.

Weird, I didn't think of that (maybe my lack of playing other video games has failed me). In which case, levitators now have their own HM, I suppose. No more jumping holes on your bikes via ramps. (If only it were this easy in RSE, Rayquaza wouldn't be so annoying to get to... I was never good at controlling the bike in its fastest mode). Wonder what affect it will have? Magnet Rise and Telekinesis seem to cover the obvious effect: either you or I will float. Maybe EVERYONE on both sides will float.

Same. I thought Float = Levitate

Heres hoping Float is a replacement for useless HMs like Cut or Rock Smash.

I'm skeptical towards the 'drastic change of base stats'. Such a huge change to the metagame, possibly giving cascoon and friends some time to shine but at the same time screwing others over. This is going to get some getting used to.

Whats with the hate on IVs?

By having IVs GF has made all of you into want to be breeders. Things that real people have to worry about when breeding a Race Horse or a Oci-cat. Sure, we all want to have the chance to be top dog, but it takes work. If you don't want to put that work in, fine, its a video game :P. If you do want to? Fine, its a hobby.

But by taking away IVs you dumb the game down and take away a theme of Pokemon thats been around since the beginning.

Personally, I want to see a day when no two pokemon is exactly the same in appearance even. When you can bread appearances and so on and so forth. Don't dumb down the breeding.

-----

This talk about EV/IV/Base Stat changes, Ice/Dragon Legendary, and three pokemon breeding has really knocked down my willingness to believe them even more. It seems like they are saying things that the fandom has wanted for a while (and the last one is a wtf?! kinda thing).

Why on earth would GF have three pokes in DC?

Fire/Dragon (especially) and Electric/Dragon were more sought after than any other Dragon type pairing I can think of, and we sure did get them. I think the three pokemon in the daycare thing is just a load of crap along with pretty much every other "insider info" given out so far.

We need Corocoro, now more than ever.

To those who are against making breeding easier by simplifying IV's: have you ever tried to breed or catch a pokemon with flawless stats?

For the average person that's not "cheating" (RNG) or hacking, a person will likely never have a competitively viable pokemon. Every little bit helps, and with the current system, it takes thousands of breedings on average to achieve 5-6x flawless, of which most pokemon need at least 5 stats to be perfect to be competitive in the metagame.

Also, Hidden Power is ridiculously hard to breed for without the above mentioned techniques. Any way to make it easier to accomplish but still require effort and forethought would be good.

Remember, this is a game primarily for children. It shouldn't require thousands of hours of work and painstaking calculations, exact timing, or freaking hacker crap to get a decent pokemon.

Minezumi is confirmed as #503, not #509. He posted Minezumi as #504, however. This could still be true if Victini occupies #494 in the National Pokedex. Serebii and Bulbapedia are assuming that it will reside at the end of the National Pokedex.
I know, I got the numbers mixed up. Minezumi is number 9 in the Isshu Pokédex and 503 in the National Pokédex. Wasn't thinking right back then.
Edit: Meant 10. As Kevlar said. Thanks man.

And as BuddyBlueBomber said, CoroCoro is much needed now.

Those real-life breeders are all paid large amounts of money for their skills. We get to be slightly better at a video game. IVs didn't make me want to be a breeder, they made me resent it. Hidden Power is really the only important part of IVs, but I'm sure GF could work around that.

I think that EVs, Abilities, movesets, and even nickname all give people a chance to make their pokemon distinct. I don't think getting rid of IVs would dumb down the game too much. I also think it would encourage people to actually battle using the game, rather than a simulation program on a computer (I know IVs aren't the only reason people use Shoddy instead of a DS, but still, I think it's a valid point).
