Hey guys, I guess people post here their introductions and shit.
I would have liked to say that I'm new to LC and shit, but that's not the case. Just look at my join date. I'm old as fuck and I'm a real lurker. Like REAL lurker. I'm talking about lurkin since been lurkin since been lurkin SINCE BEEN LURKIN. I got tutored twice, both were back when Little Cup tutoring was not even a part of the Battling 101 program lol, I'm talking about when BW first came out, when DarrenPwnz was a respected member of the LC community (Darren was my first tutor as well. That tutoring literally lasted an hour though). Back when Drought/Drizzle/Sand Stream/Snow Warning weren't limited to 5-8 turns. Back when Drizzle+Swift Swim ban from OU caused a huge fucking uproar on Smogon. Back when Vulpix was banned from LC (I'm still salty about Drilbur not getting banned despite possessing every single reason that got Excadrill banned from OU back then). Back when Pokemon Online was the thing. Back when ShinyAzelf was among LC Tutors (I still remember him switching his volt absorb scarf chinchou into my mold breaker scarf cranidos who locked into thunderpunch. Chinchou getting OHKOed was a big surprise to us both). Back when showdown only hosted online's replays. Back when I was still a teenager at the university, wasting my time in stupid shit. This became emotional so fast. Wow.
My second tutor was Charmander, the man himself, king of the tier, the creator. He taught me the difference between a team and six very skilled individuals. Back when my teambuilding sucked. It still sucks, but a lot less since I was tutored by Charmander. That man showed me the most unorthodox and stupid stuff could make up a great team. I mean, Dual Screens Abra, Bulky Physical Attacker Growlithe (I know all you newcomers looking at me like all surprised and shit, but Mixed LO was the most popular Growlithe set back then. It's pretty safe for me to say that he created today's Growlithe, 3 years ago) and Scarf Mankey on the same team level of stupid. I remember that team like yesterday though, his DS Abra couldn't OHKO my Bulky Attacker Mienfoo, which was changed from the scarf variant by the man himself anyway and lived that psychic with 1 HP, and got KO'd back by my Mienfoo's slower Payback. Yes, running Payback on Mienfoo was standard back then. Wow, that's a whole lotta gen 5 throwback.
I used to play UU too. After that Drizzle+Swift Swim ban in Gen 5, Kingdra went back to UU. I made a UU Rain Team that had a Raikou, Tornadus, Kingdra (252 HP, 252 Atk, 4 Def) and a bunch of more shit. Then I quit after a Scarf Flygon outsped my +1 Speed Kingdra under the rain and OHKOed with his outrage. I fucking hated that shit. If I had the right to ban a single pokemon from the UU tier, I would ban Flygon. Even when Kyurem was in UU (I think he was in UU for brief amount of time), I would still ban Flygon because he always wrecked shit when my opponent had it and I couldn't find a place for him in any of my UU teams.
Yeah, that's all, I guess. Enough with my old man talk anyway.
