Nah...cause it's still the same mon and I'd rather leave out people being upset about their set not being chosen.reserving Suicune.
Also, if a mon has been posted already but I believe its a suboptimal set, may I post the, imo, better set?
Someone already got it, friendI'm too lazy to post a set, but someone should reserve whimsi...
Provided it's not banned...Eh I guess I'll let that beAre ORAS Megas allowed? If so, reserving Mega Altaria.
Love the Whimsicott love. One suggestion, if you're going to be using this to counter SubCoil Zygarde and you have no support moves in your set, try Infiltrator as opposed to Prankster. This will allow you to hit Zygarde through his Sub.Specs Whimsicott as a counter.
Whimsicott (M) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 64 Def / 252 SpA / 192 Spe
Timid Nature
- Energy Ball
- Moonblast
- Psychic / Switcheroo
- U-turn
Even with the fame of Whimsicott abusing Prankster, the drop of Zygarde, and the recent huge popularity of SubCoil Zygarde gave Whimsicott a new function in UU metagame, dealing with him behind the Substitute, thanks to Infiltrator. Adding his great typing, and solid stats, he is one of the best (if not the best) answers to prevent Zygarde's chance of winning the game.
The main advantages of Whimsicott, are the Infiltrator utility to bypass a possible Substitute switch-in, while he resists Earthquake, and the more important, it's immune to Dragon Tail, so it blocks reliably a possible free turn, caused by a possible unfortunate switch-in from Dragon Tail.
Looking to the offensive side, even with the Sp. Atk stat of Whimsicott not being so good, it's reasonably enough to beat Zygarde both in 1x1 Scenario with Moonblast (which guarantees 2HKO), and in the case of switch-ins, only Extremespeed + Spikes & Stealth Rock scenarios can cause him considerable problems, but since a counter is a definition of a mon is a pokémon that gets a safe switch-in on a x pokémon's coverage (considerating SR damage, but not SR + Spikes), i believe that Whimsicott fits very well in the counter description, against SubCoil sets.
Offensive Calcs:
252 SpA Choice Specs Whimsicott Moonblast vs. 188 HP / 132 SpD Zygarde: 300-354 (74.2 - 87.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
Defensive Calcs:
0 Atk Zygarde Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 64 Def Whimsicott: 57-68 (21.8 - 26%) -- 100% chance to 4HKO after Stealth Rock
+1 0 Atk Zygarde Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 64 Def Whimsicott: 85-101 (32.5 - 38.6%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock
0 Atk Zygarde Extreme Speed vs. 0 HP / 64 Def Whimsicott: 62-73 (23.7 - 27.9%) -- guaranteed 4HKO after Stealth Rock
+1 0 Atk Zygarde Extreme Speed vs. 0 HP / 64 Def Whimsicott: 92-109 (35.2 - 41.7%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock
Concluding, Whimsicott does not only have a advantage of beating / forcing a switch from Zygarde, as it does have a good Speed Tier, with this spread outspeeding stuff like 108 Speed mons, like Infernape and Virizion, and he can be a realible check of Fighting Spam in UU tier, and providing a emergency button (with Switcheroo in his coverage) against slow setup mons, like Suicune, so he can in fact, can be a solid option when considering a general teambuilding on teams with a Balanced / Offensive approach.
I'm pretty sure he just miswrote, as it assumes Infiltrator in the written explanation.Love the Whimsicott love. One suggestion, if you're going to be using this to counter SubCoil Zygarde and you have no support moves in your set, try Infiltrator as opposed to Prankster. This will allow you to hit Zygarde through his Sub.
