The real hot take is saying Dynamax was more balanced than Z-Moves or Tera.I'm pretty sure that this isn't a hot take, but I respect the hustle.
Mega Kangaskhan warps the metagame around it, forcing you to change the strategy of the battles. Therefore, Mega Kangaskhan is a gimmick.half baked hot take: megas arent really a gimmick battle wise, they’re just new pokemon that hold an item, they dont really change the strategy and landscape of how battles are done
I'd argue z-moves are the most balanced mechanic as they're really just a "kill what's in front of you" button. Hell, z-moves were way more balanced than something like the gems from gen 5 because they got rid of a move's secondary effect (most of the time) and you can only use them once. They didn't overcentralize the meta, they were just kind of there. You could even build a successful team without using z-moves at all, which is more than I can say for the (more or less) mandatory inclusion of a mega on your team during that time. Compare that to the matchup button or Mr. "doubles your stats". No one complained about z-moves because they were more or less just banned. Tera was nearly suspect tested and dynamax was outright banned because they were so ridiculous and powerful and stupid that people didn't want to play in a metagame with them.mega Pokémon are the most healthy and balanced gimmick.
edit: I also ranked how healthy all of them are
Megas
Dynamax
Tera
Zmoves
whatever miridon does
I'm making this thread to know where people stand on Z-Moves. I'm not promoting any kind of ban, nor do I want something specific to happen. I just wanna talk about them and hear players' opinions on the matter. So why am I making this thread to begin with? Well, I'm starting to think more and more that Z Moves on Stabs in particular are so strong they're borderline OP, especially on setuppers. Once a Pokemon has boosted its offensive stats, a Z-boosted stab will blow through almost everything. On one hand, it's a good thing because it promotes proactive gameplay and on the other hand, I feel like it's too powerful at times.
bump because they're still broken, i want this thread on my tombstone and as a reference for when we look back on SM and think "how could we have fixed this mess"
Saying no one complained about Z moves is crazy revisionism lol. I think if the concept of banning generational mechanics had existed back in gen 7 there would have been pushes for suspect tests at the very least. It’s basically just a free kill on command if you have half a braincell and “Z moves suck and are broken and are unfun” was not an unpopular opinion in the slightest.I'd argue z-moves are the most balanced mechanic as they're really just a "kill what's in front of you" button. The correct ranking here is z-moves, mega, dynamax, and tera.
The first half of part 3 is pretty lame I gotta agree. I think it improves once they get to Egypt. Polnareff is an amazing character. I think Jotaro shines a lot brighter in part 4 and 6. Him just winning by pulling stuff outta his ass is dumb and goes against JojoJojo part 1 > part 3. Part 3 is a long, boring slog that sucks.

I'd say
8. Phantom Blood
7. Battle Tendency
6. Stardust Crusaders
5. Jojolion (that depends on my mood though, there are some days where I would put it dead last)
4. Golden Wind
3. Diamond is Unbreakable
2. Stone Ocean
1. Steel Ball Run
I think the show is very overhated. I could dispute a lot of them, but there's one in particular that I don't see anyone refuting correctly. the "she mastered 3 elements at 3" claim is just wrong. she could bend them, but she did not master them. aang could firebend almost immediately after he was taught it at the beginning of the show. there is a big difference between mastering the elements, and bending them.I don't think legend of Korra is a very good show but a good chunk of the criticism it gets are just people being offended that it's not atla
"Uh she can bend 3 elements as a child" yeah because she's an inversion if Aang. Whilst Aang had to learn to become the chosen one and to accept the responsibilities that come with it, Korra was fully realized as the chosen one from the beginning but had to learn to become human. Aang learning to bend the elements is a reflection of his path as a person, whilst Korra being able to bend the elements from the start is a statement on her not having this kind of path, but rather going a different route
"Uh Korra has no backstory" because she was the avatar from the very start and didn't have a normal life before the show begins. Again, it's a statement on her character
"Uh the characters are unlikeable" nobody said they needed to be likeable. They are much more flawed than in the original show for pretty legitimate reasons. Only character I can see this apply to is Mako, who went from being a jerk, to being a dumbass, to being a towel
Like there's a lot to legitimately critique but not everything the show does stinks
Sozin is Lenin, while Ozai is Stalin.I actually really enjoyed Legend of Korra. Not as much as Last Airbender, but I still think it’s a great show in its own right. Book 1 was solid, but had some issues. Book 2 was…OK, it sucked. Can’t defend it, easily the worst season. Books 3 and 4 on the other hand were incredible. One area I think it absolutely outshone LA was its villains: Oazai had little to him beyond “mwahaha I want power,” yet Korra’s villains all felt much more believable (even Unalaq).
there's a subway directly next to a traditional italian deli (the type that has beef hinds hanging on the ceiling to dry) and some turkish store that sells sandwiches (not kebap, genuinenly sandwiches, but like with turkish ingredients like sucuk, olives, feta...) where I live and I don't get why people go to the subway. It's even more expensive than these two stores at this point and it tastes like garboSubway has no right charging what they do for sandwiches with nothing on it vs if you go to a local deli/sandwich spot/bodega/italian spot for the same stuff for often less, same price, and some a lil more for much better.
edit* no fast food burger place has a right charging a quality steak price for a meal for a burger, soda and fries.

Ireland literally ruled it wasn't bread"Subway bread is not classified as bread" is partially an urban legend. It was only in Ireland, and only for tax purposes, as far as I can find
Which is honestly absurd. 25g is already a lot, 50g is fucking insane. You would never reach this level of sugar consumption if you ate even remotely healthy. I can't imagine this recommendation not having been influenced by the food industryFor reference, the recommended daily intake of added sugar in the US is to not exceed 50g
Maybe it's just me, but I've seen less people clamor for "smash kart" over the years. Maybe it isn't such a hot take as it was 4 years ago but your point still stands. At most, nintendos probably going to add at least one more franchise in MK9, maybe pac-man again, or pikachu, but I don't think they're on board to do a Smash kart. What's even the point of smash kart anyway, the differences in characters in MK are just weight changes. Wouldn't be much of an impact if your favorite scrimblo, would be able to race across baby park with a goddamn Beddybuggy or something."Super Smash Kart" is such an abysmally stupid idea when Mario's world and its numerous offshoots haven't been even close to exhausted for playable character and track options across 8 mainline entries. Wario Land, Warioware, Donkey Kong Country, Luigi's Mansion, the Mario RPGs(!!!) and new mainline titles leave a surplus of stuff up for grabs that hasn't been already, we don't need to resort to Pokemon and more Zelda when King K. Rool, 9-Volt and Goombella racing on a P'illo Island course is still on the table among numerous other hypotheticals of that nature
