Biden followed up with an endorsement. Apparently Republicans are gonna try legal challenges but I'm not entirely sure how different this is from just endorsing another candidate and pledging your delegates like in primary season. I see Kamala as stronger than Biden against Trump if only because she can form coherent sentences when debating Trump, and is below the literal retirement age. Its a meme factor that shouldn't matter when its Biden vs Trump, but I 100% assure you some people will go vote now that it isn't two eighty year olds running.

My guess is it will be Kamala Harris and I think that gives us dems the clear chance to potentially win this election because there wasn't a shot in hell we were going to win with Biden. If Kamala is the nominee who will be her VP?

Oh ok let's examine the logic:

Joe Biden, the only person that actually beat Donald Trump (and as a challenger vs. incumbent at that), people claim cannot beat Donald Trump.

Hillary Clinton, a loyal Democrat with name recognition and a successful President husband, the first woman presidential candidate could not beat Donald Trump.

Kamala Harris, a liberal black woman from Califonria - CAN beat Donald Trump?

Alright then.

In fairness, Trump's lunacy in the aftermath of the Jan 6 insurrection & the Republican Suprene Court puts him in a much worse position as a whole compared to 2016, where he was more of an unknown entity. I do think there is more leg room for him to lose than in 2016, but it would have been better if this announcement was earlier in the year, as the average Joe likely won't know who the new dem candidate is.

Well, at least I don't have to read any more arguments about whether Biden should stand down or not. Harris is the Vice President and the person that Biden endorsed, so I'm assuming that she's going to be the new candidate until proven otherwise. I have minimal confidence in her ability to beat Trump, but she should at least fare marginally better in debates.

Well no shit. This is a choke job. The Democratic Party royally fucked this up. And they fucked over 14 million primary voters who are going to wake up tomorrow and see the news and think "What the hell? I voted for Joe."

Jfc this is so insanely disingenuous. Honestly deeply offensive to compare this to sexual assault.

If someone tells you no 100 times, and you still strip everything away from them and get all their friends to turn on them. What would you call it?

Curious that its all Republicans on X screaming about how suddenly the primary process is unfair. Almost like they also were acting like this was a corrupt primary with no real challengers.

Idk guys Republicans seem more scared right now than they do vindicated about "Sleepy Joe" dropping out.

how I heard the news:

I wouldn't call it sexual assault because I have a modicum of tact and decency.

Yeah ok. What would you call it then?

14 million people voted in the primary for Joe Biden. The donors withheld funding to all Democratic congressmen and congresswomen that supported Biden. Please explain how that is a "fair" democratic process.

This was maybe the biggest single argument in favor. They knew they were getting all their current success from essentially not having any competition. Republicans are very bad at hiding what they want and don't want Democrats and they loved the idea of running against Joe. They're finally scared, right after making an overconfident VP nom. The conversation about the RNC and the assassination just had the wind taken out of its sails. It's a much needed narrative shift.

I deleted my follow-up post when I saw your initial comment was deleted and am no longer engaging with you on this matter. You used some disgusting rhetoric and for some reason see fit to double down on it instead of apologize. I don't see you accepting how obviously wrong it was any time soon, so I think the sooner this line of discussion fades from this thread, the better.

They voted in an uncontested primary. Averaged out, its less than 300,000 voters per state. Wow I'm glad Joe Biden democratically defeated *checks notes* Dean Phillips 99-1.

But yes, Trump fucked up picking Vance. Vance is a Trump 2, and only helps for 2028 when Trump can no longer run. All traditional knowledge says to add to your political ticket with your VP, not the opposite. Vance isn't helping him in a battleground state (Trump already won Ohio), is already refusing debate, has less than one full term of experience in the US Government, and is pretty openly a neocon grifter.
