Hello everyone! We are pleased to announce that manager signups for the first edition of the Hackmons Premier League are now open. If you would like to manage, please read the following details before signing up.
  • There will be 4-8 teams and each team will have a manager and co-manager.
  • Managers are required to participate in the auction to draft their players.
  • Managers will have a budget of 125k and can purchase themselves for their teams for 13.5k if they desire to do so.
    • Co-managers can also be purchased for the same price as managers (13.5k)
    • All manager purchases must be sent to the hosts (Test Rex BoingK) before the draft, and all of them will be announced in the administrative thread when that goes up.
  • Managers must select their lineup for the week and send it to the hosts before the week starts. This has been an issue on occasion in past OM teamtours, so if you don't think you can do this for the duration of HPL I (it's honestly not that complicated), do not sign up.
  • Managers are responsible for their team's behaviour. Make sure members of your team are abiding by the rules and remain active.
  • Managers are expected to facilitate substitutions when necessary.
If you can commit for the next two months or so, go ahead and sign up with your prospective team name. Managers will be decided within one week, after August 6th (originally 4th of august) at 23:59 GMT -4 (which also falls on my birthday).

This year's tiers will be: Gen 9 BH, Gen 9 BH, Gen 9 BH, Gen 8 BH, Gen 7 BH, Gen 7 PH, Gen 6 PH, Gen 6 PH, Gen 9 Hackmons Cup Bo3 and Gen 8 Hackmons Cup Bo3.

While neither me or yoko has managing experience, both of us has been pretty active in the BH community for a while, contributing quite a bit to the metagame through analyses and other stuff. We're also pretty decent at the game (i think), and we think this tour would give us great experience to manage other teamtours as well.

Both of us have managed team team tours. I've managed OMFL 3, OMFL 4, PMPL 2 and OMPL 12 while Ivar has managed OMPL 12, so we both have experience managing. I'm a BH council member thats been playing BH since gen 6 in 2014 (I'm as old as city) and I won last years BH open, while Ivar has played since gen 7 and he recently won this years BH open. We've both been apart of the BH community for a long time, so pretty confident we know our stuff.

Ihbst is a natural leader and has prior managing experience, he has managed team tours like axpl,hgpl 1
I on the other hand have been a part if axpl(runnersup). We'll do whatever we need to help our team win,we both are active and friendly users and will surely make sure to have a friendly environment for our players.

I may be lacking in experience, but I've been decently active in the BH community these past months, through means such as OMPL and stuff like that.
Allowing me to manage this tour would allow me to fill out a potential resume for other teamtours I could manage in the future.

I've played Gen 6/7 Pure Hackmons for 4 years now and have been the most influential player in that time frame with respect to metagame development. I also picked up SV BH for this year's OMPL and went positive. Chessking's knowledgeable at both USUM and SV BH. With our combined metagame knowledge we'd support our players to the best of our ability on top of fostering a fun team environment.

I don't have any managing experience, but I've been very involved with the BH community since the start of gen 9 and would like to get some experience managing by starting with a tour where I'm familiar with a lot of the playerbase.
Pannu says their experience is "being undefeated in BH in OMPL" (they have been involved in the OM community for a long time and participated in plenty of team tours, having been a member of the winning team this OMPL).

Why: I first started playing BH during the start of gen 6, when you could run 6 pdons or 6 mrays. I enjoyed that meta very much and had fond memories of the fast, aggressive nature of the meta where offensive mons are so strong that they can 2HKO walls. I barely played gens 7 and 8 but played get 9 until the beginning of this year when I kinda stopped. The reason why I stopped was because I became busy because of employment, but I still enjoy discussing BH very much and believe that it rewards unconventional and creative sets. I am looking to test and improve my organisational and management skills. I have a small background in several programming languages such as VBA, Python, Jupiter and C which allows me to perform certain types of tasks quickly. I am looking to develop these coding skills in the context of management because I believe that it would be an extremely useful skill to have. Thank you for reading and for your time.

Sorry for managers and teams that did not pass beyond the drawing board, but manager signups were gladly surprising in amount and we had to make cuts. We encourage these managers to join as players to still participate in this first HPL, and we would love to see them playing.
