What kind of Pokemon (type, ability, role, moves, etc.) do you wish existed?

Just a little topic for discussion. As a plus, it may give us some insight as to what the community considers broken, as well as give us over at the Create-A-Pokemon polls some ideas for the future.

Personally, I had always wanted a very defensive fighter with access to reliable recovery. It seems I have finally gotten that in our new Ghost / Fighting at the Create-A-Pokemon, though, =).

I've also always wanted a steel-type that could have access to Intimidate and high defense to serve as a neat counter to Garchomp. We need more counters to Garchomp, anyhow.

An Arena Trapper with access to powerful Ice STAB could be quite useful, as well.

GHOST/STEEL WITH LEVITATE!!!!111!!!1!

In all seriousness, the Create-A-Pokemon turned me on to Ghost/Normal. Weak to Pursuit? Bad. No other weaknesses? Good.

mawile much?
although 85 defense isnt that great. and 50 hp really hurts it as well.
so, nevermind.

EDIT: now that i think about it, a defensive fighter like you mentioned would be cool, but i think a defensive fire with reliable recovery would be cooler.

It's said over and over again, but Fight/Flying would be quite nice. Imagine if Staraptor had STAB on both Brave Bird AND Close Combat.

I wish the Dark/Flying and Psychic/Flying pokemon were better (not counting Lugia) since the the RBY days I've always had a thing for Psychics and Birds, and throw in Darks from GSC onwards. Xatu was one of my favourites back in GSC, it's such ashame it's competitive deadweight.

It's also always left me dumbfounded that there's no pure flying pokemon either (Arceus@Sky Plate aside), not that such a typing would be advantageous...it's just...how does that happen? Why is it the only type that does not have a pokemon of pure typing?

I also wish Kingdra had a wider movepool, it's practically the only thing holding it back.

i wanna ice/electric with >120 base speed and >110 base sp. attack STAB BoltBeam :-)
but give it paper defences and a shallow movepool after boltbeam.

also a dragon trio would be pretty cool:

Dragon/Fire, STAB Overheat + Draco Metior anyone? just dont give it a ground attack so heattran can beat it. also give it 110< base sp. attack so Sp. walls can take its hits.

Dragon/Ice, an anti Dragon Dragon, this would have high speed and decent in both attacks. also two of the best STABs in the game, however they do not work very well together, Steel resists both.

Dragon/Electric, electric needs more type combos, and this is a decent one.

and for abilitys to avoud the levitate/pressure/clear body thing most leginds have we could use flame body, frozen aura(10% chance of freeze on contact) and static.

but i doubt the voters would chose all those, the dragon trio would be good though.

another idea for a trio is this:
Dark, Fighting, Psychic

it fits with rock paper sissors thing most trios have, and a legindry Fighting + a non-uber legindry Dark would be fun.

A pokémon that has an ability that spins away stealth rocks, spikes, etc when entering the batte. Or just more ways to get rid of entry hazards.

nononononononono NO
as has been discussed in prevoius polls (about half way trough the syclant one) auto rapid spin would break the metagame.
look at some popular abilitys intimidate, shadow tag, snow warning, sandstream. they are each the an auto activation of an attack growl, mean look, hail, sandstorm. how many pokemon in OU use ANY of those attacks? the only one i can think of is the rare mean look umberon. and how many pokemon use rapid spin? how many would LOVE to have it? most of OU.

Or just more ways to get rid of entry hazards.
ok that may work. what where you thinking of?

I'd like more usage to those useless abilities.
Pokemon with Stench could drop special attack upon switching in.
Those with Run Away should be allowed to flee from Mean Look/Arena/Shadow Tag and the like.
Pokemon with Illuminate should uh...drop accuracy upon switching in?

For one thing, I would like to see Outrage back down at 90 BP, but that's another matter.

Another thing I really would like to see is a move that I've been thinking of for a long time. It's a weather-changer move I would call Thunderstorm. Thunderstorm would function pretty much like Rain except that
1. it would allow Electric attacks to hit Ground Pokemon (for neutral damage)
and
2. each Pokemon would have a 20% chance of being hit by a bolt of lightning at the end of the turn. Damage would be calculated in the same manner as Stealth Rock. Yes, it would hit Ground Pokemon and yes, it would trigger Volt Absorb and Motor Drive.

It would come with the hold item LightningRod to increase the length of the thunderstorm. I don't know if I would want a Pokemon with that auto-ability, though. (If there was one, I would call the ability StormWarning. *probably needs better name*)

That would be my dream Evolution for a certain Duck Pokemon.

I think it has to do with Roost. IIRC Flying is the only Typing you can "lose", so without a second typing on a Flying Pokemon that could be a problem mechanic-wise.

As for Dream Move, I desperately want two weather conditions:

Poison Gas: Summons the Weather Condition Poison Fog. All non-Steel, non-Poison pokemon that are in play or enter play while this condition is in effect are Badly Poisoned. All Poison Type Pokemon in play gain 1/16 hp back at the end of each turn. Poison type moves inflict 1.5 damage, and Fire Blast has its accuracy set at 100% and has a 50% chance of inflicting damage through Protect.

Reap the Wind: Summons the Whirlwind Gale weather condition. Each Pokemon in play is affected by Roar at the end of each turn, and battlefield conditions such as Stealth Rocks, Spikes, and Poison Spikes are cleared at the end of each turn. Priority Moves and "Never Miss" Moves do 1.5 damage. (Note because of the "Roar" effect switching out Pokemon, Recharge Moves are VERY useful in this weather condition!).

ok that may work. what where you thinking of?

As for more Field Clearing effects, it always bothered me that Whirlwind doesn't "Blow Away" the Battlefield conditions.

Most of us would love to see a Farfetch'd evolution. That thing isn't getting any love.

I can't remember what does happen in that case, but you can test it relatively easily.

Have Kecleon Skill Swap with a Roost user.
Then, use Aerial Ace on the opponent so that the Roost user's type becomes Flying and ONLY Flying.
Finally, have the Roost user use Roost and see if it causes problems. If Kecleon is slower (which seems likely), Kecleon can then attack with something and see what happens.

Fire/Bug type. Like some grasshopper on fire. It should be given the an ability that makes it immune to fire types and boosts its speed by 30%. Downside is that it loses 1/16 of its hp every turn. Mixed Sweeper. Kinda suicidal though. 4x weak to stealth rock+sandstorm= alot of hurt. But bug types need a counter to fire type attacks.

A Grass/Electric thick fat pkmn... :D
I made a fakemon for that, so I'd like to have that.

Grass/Steel, with solid Sp.Def and HP, as well as average Def would be good, and giving him Overgrow "starter"/Pressure or Solid Rock (probably not).

This, fucking this. Alway dreamed about this since the days Electric couldn't hit those damn Ground pokeys.

This made me laugh and choke at the same time and it mostly have to do with some guy's fakemon being a Grass/Steel Trojan Horse/Zebra. I was toying around with IVs involving it and I came up with this: 90/71/110/71/120/72 = 534

so, nevermind.
Jolly 252 Atk no item Garchomp Earthquake after Intimidate to Impish 252/252 Mawile is 58.88% - 69.08%, so, uh... yeah. Nevermind is right.
(Jolly 252 Atk no item Garchomp Earthquake w/o Intimidate to Impish 252/252 Skarmory is 0.0% - 0.0% :P )

and what about a CB/SD outrage? i bet it can take that like a champ.

CB Jolly Chomp Quake after Intimidate to Impish 252/252 Mawile:
Damage: 201 - 236
Damage: 66.12% - 77.63%

SD Jolly Chomp Quake after Intimidate to Impish 252/252 Mawile:
Damage: 266 - 313
Damage: 87.50% - 102.96%

Not as hurted as I thought but still mortally wounded to near death.

CB Jolly Chomp Outrage after Intimidate to Impish 252/252 Mawile:
Damage: 60 - 71
Damage: 19.74% - 23.36%

SD Jolly Chomp Outrage after Intimidate to Impish 252/252 Mawile:
Damage: 79 - 94
Damage: 25.99% - 30.92%

Wow....surprising.
