Any chance you are going to do a Lucario in that fashion? I'd love to see it.
I use the Conditional Hue/Saturation plugin on Paint.NET to create a vertical hue adjustment gradient. Then I use the Change HSB effect on Beneton Movie GIF to change its hue from 0 to 248 through 32 frames. Both those programs are free to download ;)
Yeah, I'm planning on doing all the DP Pokémon in Advance style for my game. You can look forward to that if you want.

If you mean the gradient, use this plugin. Then use Vertical or Horizontal Fade, and then copy and paste into the GIF animator.
Well, actually you can learn scratching, like everything else? Or don't you want to learn it? Weird...I think that scratching is just a feeling. You can it or you can't. Some people (like Wichu, KoA and others) are really good at it.

I myself haven't sprited in months, might as well post my stuff:
not perfect by any means but pretty decent I think, the breloom is my favorite.
