A bit of a joke game I'll admit, Medeia wasn't running a very good moon set. But neither was Ewin using a very good screens team either. Regardless, it demonstrates how the presence of screens makes it harder for Moon to get prolonged value, when it can't OHKO its opponents, and its opponents are capable of OHKOing it.

After Medeia's Poisonceus dies to Lando, Celeste elects to go to Spectrier instead of Moon, because of how Spectrier is far more immediately threatening with Grimm Neigh, and also because Moon's bulk/ability to set up and survive espeed are significantly compromised by the presence of 3 layers. Medeia's Moon never even gets the chance to set up, because Celeste's HO was putting out constant pressure. Both moons this game died without getting particular value for themselves

I don't exactly remember what happened here, I can't remember if I was using Moon as a sac, or if I was actually just balling and bluffed Tera. Regardless, Moon ended up getting little value either way. Granted, I was not using a very good Moon set. However, even if I did have the coverage to hit Goltres, my Moon was low enough that it could get picked off by Ekiller.

I partly chock this game up to Imperial using a bit of a passive team as far as webs go, but otherwise I think this is a good demonstration of Moon actually putting in real work and getting great value for itself.

This is another game where Moon put in really good work, but ultimately was able to be stuffed out by Mimikyu - a Pokemon commonly found on HOs these days. Even for non-wisp variations of Mmq, Play Rough into Shadow Sneak is guranteed to put Roaring Moon into Arceus Extreme Speed range.

Moon got 1.5 kills, due to having dodged a hurricane, a situation that did not even particularly set up my opponent to win had they not then triple crit me through screens. Again, Moon struggles to find setup opportunities when it has constant offensive pressure applied to it.

Moon got 1 kill due to Skyiew's Samu-H missing Ceaseless. Had Skyiew been running Fleur Cannon, Moon would've been a trade into Magearna. Certainly a valuable pick from Shadow's perspective, but the Moon was still far from accomplishing an actual sweep here. Although, I will concede that Shadow played recklessly with his moon and should've waited until Samu had come in first, before trying to set up a Moon sweep. But again this just sort of goes to show that Moon thrives more in (relatively) fatter matchup more than versus HO.

The first replay where Moon gets a proper sweep, versus a mimikyu HO team at that. But it's more nuanced than that which I think is worth exploring. Rasche also had a Moon which petered out without doing much, because it was fighting a sticky webs team. One of the reason Moon thrives is because its speed tier allows it to get the jump on Landorus, and it quickly outspeeds everything after just 1 DD. When webs come into the equation however, things get a lot tougher for moon. As for the reason Dorron was able to sweep with his Moon, was because Rasche had sacrificed his own lando which left him with no choice but to use up mimikyu to check Arc-Poison, and also because he had seemingly zero espeed on his own HO. In other words, I think Rasche's team was just not very good.

Moon puts in good work this game. Knocks the M2's boots and picks of Mag, which helped a little bit for Ewin to win the endgame. Again, I think the issue here is that Moon is just really good into balance teams that can't constantly exert offensive pressure to dissuade Moon from going out of control, and also who's individual pieces tend to carry more value in one slot than HO's tends to.

Ewin's Moon does nothing, because his team was woefully unprepared for ekiller, and allowed Skyiew's Arceus to boost to +4, at which point the game was over. Ewin's team was pretty bad, but again goes to show how Moon suffers when faced with offensive pressure.

Despite having the matchup, Moon ended up just trading into Terap and getting revenged by Magearna. I think this is a case of non-mainer using a non-standard team, not really knowing how to pilot it more than anything. By all means I think Rmoon should've accomplished more of a sweep this game, but it's also worth noting that I think Shadow's team was particularly prepared to deal with moon, by having both Terapagos as well as ekiller, which makes it pretty hard for Moon to claim more than a kill at a time. That said, Frito had a pretty similar structure two games ago, and still lost due to having gotten overwhelmed and saccing the Terap.

Here's the game where Moon pops off the hardest. It's versus a stall team with no unaware. This is probably where Rmoon is at its absolute peak in terms of matchup, and it's really no surprise how well it did. Imo, if you choose to run stall, Rmoon is really just something you have to consider and maybe accept as a losing matchup unless you play completely out of your mind.

Moon did nothing here. Shameless plugging of my team bazaar post, but I really do think this team is emblematic of all the ways in which Moon can be handled. For starters it's a HO which means that Rmoon has little to no opportunity to set up versus a Pokemon that's already clicked a boosting move. There's also double espeed, a multiscale Pokemon, and a Mimikyu. The worst matchup this team probably has is versus something like Tera Steel Roost DD, but even that can still be played around by finessing the Mmq in on a forced EQ.
