Social LGBTQIA+

Update: just made through a day of school. I’ve told some close friends but it’s hard to just tell it to them. It definitely feels better but calder still exists. Sometimes it feels like there are both Calder and cedar. But yeah, being called a she and painting my nails and growing my hair long and wearing a dress makes me feel happy so I’ll figure it out. But yeah anyways…

my phone just doesn’t show videos or whatever it is. Literally just a blank space, unless that was the joke.

I know I double posted but I think they weren’t just spam

First and foremost, good on you for beginning to understand yourself better. I'm sure it wasn't easy, but the fact you're feeling good about it is a positive sign. It's okay to feel as if a different part of you still exists, you don't have to feel forced to be one way or another at times. Give yourself time and, most importantly, be true to yourself. Do what you feel is right for you, in whatever way that may be. It's different for everyone, as it's your own personal journey of discovery, but it sounds like you're doing well.

anyone have any queer book recommendations? i like low/intrusive fantasy and just real-world fiction. i really enjoyed the here's to us duology and the sunbearer trials duology if that helps (or if anyone else needs recommendations!)

it isn't the queerest duology in the world but Six of Crows is one of my fave novels of all time and two members of the ensemble cast are gay for each other- it's pretty heavily featured

Maybe Red white and royal blue? I haven't read it personally but my friend does and constantly talks about how they love the acknowledgement of queer figures that we're notable people but we're forgotten due to their association with the lgbtq+

A bit of a change of topic, but I just wanted to say that I hope everyone is hanging in there, both mentally and physically. The recent UK ruling on differentiating between transgender women and biological women is truly unfortunate and I'm sure some will be disheartened by it; however, I have faith that rulings such as that will be on the wrong side of history in time. Transgender women are women, just as transgender men are men. No ifs, ands, or buts. Stay strong and keep on fighting the good fight, hate will never win.

Us Canadian queers are gonna do what we can - and I'd love to promise you guys that we'll succeed, but the American election demoralized so many of us and invigorated the people who want our rights gone.
Liberals won! And ironically, Donald Trump is probably the biggest reason for that despite him wanting the Conservatives to win. So... thanks, Trump! You finally managed to do one good thing with your life (even it was by accident) xoxo

Anyone have any queer artist recommendations? I really wanna make my playlists more gay, bonus points if they're an electronic or alt rock/pop artist :^)
I don't know much but I remember "Secret Love Song" by Little Mix being now identified as queer. The group has dedicated their song to the LGBTQ+ community and most of their performances usually has the pride flag behind them during those performances iirc. Another one is from my Filipino friend (who wishes to remain anonymous) is "Paninindigan Kita" by Ben&Ben the official music video has two female members (keyboardist Pat Lasaten and bassist Agnes Reoma) of that group most likely be a coming out for them to the world (and they are also happily married in real life!) :totodiLUL:

If you can handle it Femtanyl is one of my favourite queer artists. She does digital hardcore and I honestly wouldn't recommend it to most people because it can be quite intense. She did get more popular and her recent songs like M3 n MIN3 are more palatable tho

I've been meaning to listen to her actually, I constantly see mixed opinions on her and I wanna see how I feel about her, I'll listen to some of her stuff tonight probably!
