Welcome to the first edition of Masters League. Masters League is a tournament for up and coming players of Generations 6, 7 and 8. The aim of this tournament is to give players who are working their way into the tournament scene experience playing in a team tour environment with experienced managers who can help them reach their potential.

There will be eight teams of ten slots, and the format will be as follows:
  • ORAS OU
  • ORAS OU
  • ORAS OU
  • SM OU
  • SM OU
  • SM OU
  • SS OU
  • SS OU
  • SS OU
  • Masters Bo3
Important notice: to focus on the development of newer players, one cannot sign up to play in Masters League if they meet one or more of the following conditions:
  • You are not eligible to sign up as a player in Masters League if you played a game of ORAS, SM or SS in the following tournaments:
    • Smogon Premier League
    • World Cup of Pokémon (Main Stage)
  • You are not eligible to sign up as a player in Masters League if you played more than three OU games of in any single tier of ORAS, SM or SS in any of the following tournaments:
    • ORASPL
    • SMPL
    • SSPL
    • RoAPL
    • RCoP
    • OUPL
  • Players would for example still be eligible if they played 2 games of SM in SMPL and 1 game of ORAS in RoAPL, but not if they played 3 games of SMPL spread over different tournaments.
Teams will be allocated 130k credits for the auction.
The minimum roster size is 13

Providing clarification to the following rule regarding eligibility:
Important notice: to focus on the development of newer players, one cannot sign up to play in Masters League if they meet one or more of the following conditions:
  • You are not eligible to sign up as a player in Masters League if you played more than three combined OU games of ORAS, SM or SS in any of the following tournaments:
    • ORASPL
    • SMPL
    • SSPL
    • RoAPL
    • RCoP
    • OUPL
This rule was meant to bar players who have played more than three ORAS, SM or SS OU games combined in any single one of the aforementioned tournaments, not more than three in all of them combined - this league obviously wants to help players who can't make it to any PLs, but there are players who don't get much gametime in side PLs who can also benefit from this platform as well.

I do not have the time nor bandwidth to do tryouts for everyone that messages me, but I would love to have a brief conversation and watch over some replays.
 
Hi! Those who want to tryout for our team can dm me (my disc: miyokogaming) or yovan (his disc: .yovan) and send us your replays ladder achievements and stuff such as records. We aren't accepting much tryout games except rare cases. Thank you!
 
Alpha and I are looking for players for all gens! We will be prioritizing swsh/sm/bo3 however oras is still more than welcome! If you'd like to play with us and get to be in a competitive environment, dm either Alpha or I on discord (alpha1013 and ithi respectively) with your replays and a resume of what you've got! If either of us have the time, we can arrange tryouts

but this is just insane, these managers have proven to be completly incapable of building a roster.
Jeremey 'Longestbanana' Banana going for over 14k while never have even touched SS SM or ORAS shows the experience these managers all have!!!! During this tournament i expect to see his complaints in my teamcord that his steel types cant tera out of their fire weakness.

Violet "Chuddy" River going for over 18k while never have even touched SS SM or ORAS shows the experience these managers all have!!!! During this tournament i expect to see her complaints in my teamcord that her slaking isn't "good in this gen".

Mielke "mayonaise loving edater" 3 Blades going for under 18k while being fantastic at SS SM at ORAS shows the experience these managers all have!!!! During this tournament i expect to see his complaints in my teamcord that his teams keep winning and he finds it too easily to double on his opps.

Even though I was aiming for a better record, I’m still grateful for how I performed and proud of the 6-2. Always room to grow, and I’m looking forward to improving in the future.


Everyone on BC Wishkiller was genuinely kind and great to work with.
Hope we get the chance to team up again someday!
 
just wanted to make a quick post after sadly being eliminated in the semi finals,

big shoutouts to zinnias and abele, they were in every channel helping out, doing prep playing test games everything you want in a manager. They deserve to have more managerial opportunities in the future.

Now onto the players, unfortunately i didn't play to the standard i expect from myself with a poor record. But without my teammates trying their hardest and motivating me to try and bounce back after having a bad start, thank you guys it was great to collaborate with you all, new faces and meeting new friends now.

BC Wishkillers it was an honor.
 
This might not the way I wanted this tour to end, but that doesn't means I'm not satisfied with it, Zinnias and I were aiming for a good team with chill people and that's exactly how it went. We faced some problems during the tour but managed to survive even with that. Since is my first time managing a tour like this on smogon, I'll do some s/o.

zinnias I wouldn't be here if you didn't ask me to sign up randomly even if we the first time we talked was 3 days before. Maybe we can manage together in the future but with a name that doesn't suck LOL

LegitlyIzOP You're goated, almost undefeated (7-1), we know how good you are and I hope we can share team in the future (Maybe SMPL???). Keep getting better and I'm sure I'll see you in high level tournaments very soon, thanks for carrying our ass.

Bored Pikachu 6-2 for 3.5k huge steal for your skills. Your preparation is sick and your in-game skills too, we thought on you as ORAS priority from the start (mainly to cover our lack of ORAS knowledge, then it became to carry our ORAS Slots) You're awesome, I hope this tournament helps for you to getting known as the good player you are. Our first dm message was in 2021 before i joined smogon, now i'm teaming with you, might be the destiny.

Skyiew Allergic to prep, addicted to the outplay. You're so good bro, I'm sorry we couldn't put you in the slots you wanted to, with that change you would've a better record (Currently is cool too). GL and smash in wcop.

Gallinova el legendario "monke stay", no mucho que decir, nos conocemos hace ya un tiempo desde cuando me padreabas en gen 8 ou, principalmente por eso te quería comprar. Gracias x jugar con nosotros y generar un buen ambiente.

zRyan74 Aka BKCPL Goat aka "Vapekid ryan". I can confirm you're good even if your record leaves a little to be desired even for you, don't worry about that. If I've the opportunity to manage again and you sign up, no doubts you will be one of my options.

If i'm missing something/someone i'm really sorry, this took too much time and i have other things to do LOL

first teamtour (ass record but it's fine :totodiLUL:) and couldn't ask for better teammates and managers, not only are they good at the game but also chill, friendly, interactive and what not. i enjoyed the QOTDs and allat especially when we talked about italian brainrot bullshit. I hope i get to team with y'all again when im all better! Ty BCWK! also vouching for Pawchete (SS) chargedram (ORAS) Kokona Aoba (ORAS) purbaj (ORAS) these guys are crazy good supports

It's rare for me to be satisfied with my team tour experiences as a player, but I'm wholly satisfied with this one managing. Having your whole 34.5k player cancer through no fault of your own would be a sandbag for any team, but I don't remember us ever blaming it or losing hope because of it. I'm proud of my team for fighting to the end and I only wish that I could have been more of a presence, even through my language barrier.

Abele01 - I only knew you through my cord and through ladder before asking you to sign up. I figured you would be a good fit since you played all three and you seemed like a nice enough dude, but I didn't know how high you'd rise above my expectations. You were involved, attentive, helpful, and I don't think I could have gotten a better co.

LegitlyIzOP You are very talented and despite your busy schedule you put aside a lot of your time and effort into preparation and helping the team. You would be a massive help to any team that wanted you in any tour. Your record speaks for itself and with good luck you can stay on top of the leaderboard ;)

Skyiew I regret that we weren't able to slot you in SM OU as you had preferred, but you made the most out of it. You were a rock of the team and could be consistently relied on in SS and even bo3 once Whyad dipped. You played very well throughout this tour, so thank you.

Bored Pikachu You were incredibly valuable to our team and for a very modest price- I admit, I wasn't familiar with your game, Abele had to put me on and I'm glad he did. We originally thought you would be a prep engine but you were the whole package. Thank you for always being dedicated to all three slots and playing your heart out, and I'm sorry for cursing you with this.

Gallinova You got some great wins in the SS slot and were an active chat presence- you're a very funny dude but I have no idea what was ironic or not sometimes lmfao. Thank you for adding to both our success and our chaos.

Caesarr Thank you for picking up our slack with the fun events/stuff, you really made a difference for the team morale, and put up some solid numbers to boot.

Zelph Thank you for the wins. Abele would know more about your situations that were affecting activity much better than me, I don't really know what it was, but it's fine that life happens and I only wish we knew in advance.

ySagaz_ We had some great moments with you on the team cord. I have never known someone to show up so fashionably late and for it to work the way it did lmfao. I'm a first time manager, I learnt a lot about activity rules that day. Thank you for your activity and good vibes.

SASAGEYO I was so down to give you your first team tour opportunity off the back of a decent SM seasonal showing and a strong vouch from Abele. We had some very instructive test games, both friendlies and on ladder ;) I hope you got the experience that you would have wanted from this tour and I think this is only the start for you, I think you can and will get a lot better.

zRyan74 I think what's more important than your record is that you kept going and you only let it motivate you more. I'll be honest that I didn't like your level of effort towards the start of the tournament, but as the weeks went on, your approach shifted and you became more of a team player. I know this was a big learning experience and I hope that you keep grinding and improving, you have a high ceiling waiting for when you apply yourself.

Sna You weren't happy with your record either, but you were a model team player throughout. Nobody was more active throughout the whole cord than you, you were down to test and scout and help everyone, regardless of what time of day it was. I'm glad that we got you and you were worth it.

Jhonx~ We wouldn't have gotten into playoffs without the EG luck you brought us, tysm!

Volg It's a shame that we didn't do a lot with you, it was tough to find a place to rotate you into after we figured our lineup out, thanks for playing a part though.

destroyingpotato Similar to above, it was tough to find a place considering we had a lot of oras players to find somewhere to put. I wish you good luck on future tours.

Ahy Wddicted I really hope you're okay bro. A lot of people miss seeing you around and wonder how you are. Our team missing your talent isn't nearly as important as that, but luckily I have something to blame to make us look better.

CM Reuniclus Thank you for carrying the entire team into a loss in the playoffs. He built every single team that we ever used, no wonder we didn't win.
 
Thanks to the hosts for making this premier league possible, I am happy with the team I played with and the overall outcome of this league. I made a ton of new friends that I'm grateful to have met them.

Ithi and Alpha1013 were amazing managers regardless of what anyone says. You guys prepped the team well, made sure we were okay before our matches even mentally before going into them and gave everyone a shot at playing. Don't let people discourage you from continuing to manage, play or whatever it is and know your worth. Thank you a lot for drafting me.

Astoria From the first week I met you, I have already benefitted from this PL. You're an amazing guy and a very good player. I am hoping that even after this PL we will stay friends for a long time. Most of your games in this were really unfortunate but you were definetly one of the best SMers in this entire tournament.

chargedram I didn't really get to know you until later on in the tournament, but you're a very nice person bro. I loved the teams you provided me during oras gc even though I haven't made it far. Got nothing but respect for you and wish you the best in the future. Definetly one of the nicest people I've met on this website.

Mollymiltoast Bro you're goated as fuck. I knew after our SM Seasonal games that you were an amazing SM player. I was a bit sceptical at first when you were put in SS at the start but you have proven to me that you are unbelievably good in there aswell. I see a bright future for you and wish you good luck.

veti Honestly, there was tension at the start when I first saw that we were in the team because of the fact that I act fished you during smogon masters. To this day I regret that action and I'm sorry for doing it. Nonetheless, I am happy to have teamed with you because that tension is now gone. You played very well during the pl and calmed my nerves every time we started a week by losing because I would always think to myself "yeah but veti and molly haven't played yet so it's fine we'll win.".

Horii You're way better than what your record says. I'm happy to overall team with you and hopefully we can do it in more teamtours.

Django You were goated this entire PL in Oras. Unfortunate that you lost in Tie Breakers but don't let that de-motivate you because you're a good player and a good person. Definetly hoping to team up with you again and next time hopefully win.

Genhui You're still learning SM and you had an unfortunate loss because of a 1 turn missplay, but don't worry, we've all been there. Feel free to ask for help anytime you need, with your dedication I am sure that I'll be seeing you at the top soon.

GOATED im_m0rtal. I am sorry that I couldn't have delivered you your first PL win this time during tiebreakers. But you have truly given it your all this PL. You tried your best to help the team with tests, prep and all and you've been there for the managers to get subbed in. You had a bad record but don't worry it's fine. It is normal to have a bad record in your first pl. Just don't let it discourage you because you grind harder than all of us and once you're on the right track, you'll be better than all of us. Also Goated for beating ryan.

Fdmw To be honest, there's not much I can tell you that you don't already know. Your prep was amazing and I'm glad to have used the teams I've built with you during this PL. This was a very fun tournament especially the first time I was teamed with you and I hope we team for more tournaments in the future. But hopefully you take them seriously this time and not load a fucking mamoswine week 2.

Insou We haven't talked much during the PL, but I wanted to just apologize for not going with your prep throughout the PL, I was just using teams that I was more confident with. No hard feelings, you're a good player.

Finally, I wanted to give some shout outs to certain people that weren't in our team.

Sna Although you've only helped the team in the finals, thank you so much for the scouts and it was wonderful meeting you. (no emotional support bs post sorry).

Career Ended We had messy series in this pl, hoping in the future we can have clear matches. Congrats on the best record in the PL champ.

Legitly My bad for not making it possible for you to have the best SM record in this PL.

cen344uu We don't talk with each other but you deserve a shout out for being my hardest opponent in the PL.
