Is the max pp of moves shown anywhere in the strategy dex? It just defaults to the base pp, which is strange because we can’t even lower the pp of a move in Showdown.
Max PP is dependent on base PP. It is usually base PP times 1.6.
But being able to have lower than max PP in the same way as is possible on the cartridges would be nice.
FWIW, non-max PP is an approved suggestion that was being worked on as recently as three months ago, as always there are technical implementation hurdles that are being discussed and looked at.
Might be a stupid question or not appropriate to ask here:
I know it says online that Smogon use MD5 + Bcrypting for storing passwords, but before they are encrypted does the site or site admins see them as plaintext? Are they stored as plaintext any where at any time?

No, we just have the option to reset or set a new password for someone. No plaintexts.
But can it be seen when the browser send it initially? In other words, could an admin look at a users profile details and check what password they used to sign up before it was encrypted

Why is there no new version of http://users.smogon.com/X-Act/defense.html (the applet described in https://www.smogon.com/dp/articles/maximizing_defenses )? I get that the old applet would be useless today as almost no one would use a browser that supports it, but why has a new version not been made in something like JS after all those years? Is maximising Defences not considered import anymore? Or is there some app I do not know about?
The users. subdomain of Smogon was depreciated a long time ago.
Programmers who are willing to put their free time doing unpaid contributions to the Smogon and Showdown codebase are inherently uncommon, and they focus on things they prefer to do or find important. It's likely that there are tool out there of some sort to do similar, or even just some basic Excel/Google Sheets formulas or a user-maintained PS Bot. I seem to recall a bot that has a .bulk command - Scrappie maybe?
But the short answer is that - something being coded requires someone to code it. If you're interested to take up the challenge, there is the Technical Projects subforum you can take a look at.
Thanks for the answer. I already made a replacement for the applet in Scheme but since I never hear about optimising defences anymore I thought the process might have been obsoleted. Maybe I will make a bot out of my own app if it is still considered useful.
Hello I was told by someone that it is possible to earn a custom avatar through a point system by contributing to the community. I was in a draft pool with them so now all the info they told me is gone I was wondering if anyone could link me a forum to the process or explain it to me directly? Hello, I received the notification that I've been perma banned for sharing an IP with a username I don't recognize. I appealed the ban but it has not gone away. It's been over two weeks now even though the ban said it'd end in a few days. I was just wondering if the ban will be removed or go away soon or not.
Are you using a VPN? Because that can cause issues like that.
I am not using a VPN. This has happened to me a few times before, and every time after appealing it the ban went away almost immediately.
But how do i find out where to start? if you don't mind helping me guiding me in the right direction.

I tried the bb code for types from this website (I couldn't find anything on smogon for this after searching for 10 minutes or so), but it unfortunately didn't seem to work.

But when I do something like dark, it doesn't work.

This was the only smogon resource I was able to find, but it looked like it didn't have anything for the type icons.
Someone else can correct me if I'm wrong btw.
